It s always good to have daylight last longer, to have the birds chirping and seeing the spring flowers popping up! These all are sure signs of spring. As soon as the temperature warms up, we can enjoy the many activities that take place inside and outside of school. Please remember that school should be your top priority. It is still important for your child to get a good night s rest and come to school ready to learn. WELCOME! A huge welcome back to all our pupils who are already settling into their new classes and a very special welcome to our New Reception Children everyone looks absolutely wonderful in their smart uniforms. At DPS Dubai we follow the CBSE-i curriculum. This curriculum builds curiosity and a passion for learning in children. It provides a platform for all the children to exhibit their hidden talents and caliber. We at DPS believe in learning by doing. It is a stimulating and motivating way for students to learn. It strengthens their understanding of a concept by giving them practical, first-hand experience of the concept through various activities and projects. The CBSE-i curriculum also lays special emphasis on the concept of life skill education. The CBSE Board aims to promote critical, analytical and creative thinking skills, effective communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills as well as information and media skills necessary for success in the 21 st century.

2 Library: The library period takes place once every week and children are responsible for keeping school library books in good condition. It is suggested that a book bag be used on library day to keep the books in good order. Books from the previous week need to be returned next week so children can borrow new books. Practice work: A schedule is set for this and accordingly the home work is given. If your child does not receive homework please let the teacher know. Otherwise it is expected each child returns completed homework. CLP: CLP is an important tool for bridging any communication gap between the teachers and the parents. We invite your feedback and inputs through the CLP in order to help us help you. All parents are requested to login to DPS Dubai website and check the CLP regularly for notices, notes and assignments. As per the CBSE-i curriculum, the theme of the month is My Universe and Me. The integrated activities within the curriculum emphasize the development of a complete and well-rounded human being, where every part of the individual mind, body, emotions, and spirit is developed at the same time. This means that by providing students with lessons that encompass a wide range of skills and subject matter, they will get a much richer educational experience. Integrated activities aim to focus on more than one skill or subject matter through one exercise or activity.. The Projects and activities reflect an inter-disciplinary approach and focus on learning that goes beyond the classroom.
