Blasted stone will be loaded into trucks/ tractors for transport. A small store will be provided to store mining tools and tackles. Liquid effluent- Mine water collected (during monsoon) in the mine pit will be pumped out and treated in sedimentation pond. The projects involving clearance under coastal Regulation zone Notification, 1991 shall submit with the application a C.R.Z. map duly demarcated by one of the authorized agencies, showing the project activities, w.r.t. All correspondence with the Ministry of Environment & Forests including submission of application for TOR/ Environment Clearance subsequent clarifications as may be required from time to time, participation in the EAC Meeting on behalf of the project proponent shall be made by the authorized signatory only. Scheme for concurrent rehabilitation & reclamation of degraded Land: The land required for the project is owned by the government and there is no habitation on the applied lease area. Land is to be degraded on account of opencast mining. The mined out area cannot be filled back even partially. Moreover, the overburden material is not adequate to undertake backfilling operation at any stage. The mined out area can be developed as water reservoir after the conceptual plan period. Area in and around of the lease area can be used for afforestation purpose. 8. Air & Water Pollution Control Scheme: a. Air Pollution Control Following air pollution control measures will be implemented;

14 I. Regular Water Sprinkling within lease area. II. Use of optimal quantity of explosives to minimize generation of dust during blasting. III. Regular maintenance of transport road. IV. Metalling of transport road outside lease area. V. Green belt along both sides of transport road. b. Water Pollution Control Following water pollution control measures are proposed; I. Provision of Garland Drain on edge of quarry to channelize water away from quarry to natural drains. II. Provision of Sedimentation Tank for treatment of mine water. 9. Quantity of moorum (OB) to be removed during the first three years will be around 5,00,100 m 3 which will be sold as one of the product. 11. The Capacity of mine is 5001 TPD of Stone Boulders and in first two years only 5,00,100 m 3 of Morum. 6. The average thickness of OB, which is moorum is about 3m. Total quantity of morum is about 5,00,100 m3 which will be removed in first two years. Morum will be sold as one of the product. 7. Total project cost is Rupees 18,05,000/- (Rupees eighteen lakhs five thousand only). 8. Lease Area is barren land and is owned by the Government. 9. Soft overburden/ sub-grade material will be removed by excavator. For removal of hard rock, drilling and blasting will be used. 10. Stone will be mined by developing bench. Bench height will be limited to 6 m and width as 6 m. 11. The mine site is connected to Chatarpur Hussainabad Road (21 km from Hussainabad). Mine access road is about 1.0 km. 12. Water demand for potable purpose (1.5 KLD), dust suppression (10 KLD) and green belt (3 KLD) will be met by a bore well and pond water. Water for sprinkling and green belt will be bought from local pond by tankers. 13. As applied mine lease is located in remote area, no electricity connection is there. A DG set is proposed for mining machinery and pumping. 14. The boulder, mined from the quarry will be crushed to required size by crusher unit. 15. 22 The proposal under consideration relates to mining of stone chips to be used as building material or road metal. Both of the products are to be used as building material for building and road construction. A large number of infrastructure projects including construction, of new roads & widening, upgrading & strengthen of existing roads have been taken up in the Region/ State. In addition a large number of building construction projects including new townships, industrial projects have been taken up in the region. All these projects will lead to industrial and economic development of the region which is comparatively a backward region. These projects will also open new opportunities for employment in the region. 2.5 Demand & Supply Gap In view of the fact that there is large growth in the construction sector involving use of stone chips i.e. road metals and aggregates, demand for such product is growing. There are limited source for such building materials. In the circumstances as stated above, there is always a gap in demand & supply. This is the reason, there has been rise in price of the product over past years. 2.6 Imported Vs Indigenous Production This is a product which the market is completely dependent on indigenous production for two products produced in the region. Imported product or product produced in other region will be too expensive. Projects under construction in the region have to depend on local resources. 2.7 Export Possibility In view of the fact that there already exists a gap between demand & supply scenario in the region, there is no possibility for export of the product to be produced from the mine. 2.8 Domestic / Export Market The product from the mine will be sufficient only to meet the demand for material in local market. There will be no scope for its export. 2.9 Employment Generation (Direct/ Indirect) This type of project generates direct & indirect employment for local peoples as well as non local peoples. CHAPTER III PROJECT DESCRIPTION 3.1 Type of Project

23 The project under consideration is a mining project involving mining of stone boulders. These boulders mined from the quarry will be crushed in crusher plant to designated size to be used either for coarse aggregate for building projects or as road metal. i. Land Use The total applied lease area is ha (45.0 acre). Break up of this area currently in use is given below; Existing Land Use Pattern: The deposit being virgin, there is no degradation of land due to quarrying, dumping, road making etc. There is no agricultural activity over the proposed mining area. 24 The project under consideration is a site specific. And the applied mining lease for stone quarry is owned by the State Govt. In this circumstance, alternate site has not been considered. 3.4 Size or Magnitude Lease Area Capacity Applied Mining Lease Area ha (45.0 Acre) Capacity of Mine - Stone Boulders TPD (Peak) - 5,00,100 M3 in first two years only. 3.5 Process Details The deposit within the leasehold will be worked from the top most level of the deposit. After removal of overburden cover, the mining faces in the stone zone will be formed within the stone deposit bench dimension being 6m x 6m (Height and Width). Because of deploying jack hammer drills for drilling purpose, the 6m high benches are to be mined by forming sub-benches of 3m. Mining operation will be of cyclic order i.e. drilling, blasting, excavating and loading followed by transport of materials from mined to plant/ consuming centers. The production target is around 170 t/day. The regime of mine operation will be as follows; No. of working days in a year No. of working shift in a day - 01 (general) Duration of shift - 8 hours Effective working hours in a shift - 6 hours The mine working boundary has been fixed after leaving a safety barrier of 7.5m wide all around the lease boundary. 3.6 Raw Material with Quantity, Source, use of final product, mode of transport of raw material of final product Raw Material For mining & stone boulders, explosives are required as raw material. Use of End of Product: Stone quarried from the quarry will be crushed to size required for road metal or aggregate for building material as per requirement. Mode of transport: Crushed & sized stone chips will be transported to customer/ construction site through roads. 3.7 Resource optimization, Reuse Recycling

25 Explosives: Quantity of explosives will be optimized in terms of optimal quantity of explosives for a given quantity of rocks to be quarried. Use of optimal quantity of explosive also reduces powering effect. Thus dust generation during blasting operation is minimized. Optional quantity of explosives shall be determined or basis of trial blasting in the area. Recovery of Building Material/ Road Metals: The crushing operation is to designed in a way that quantity of sized metal or coarse aggregate will be maximum & powdering effect will be minimum. Stone Powders: Stone powders generated during crushing operation shall be stored and disposed to concrete block manufacturers. 3.8 Availability of water its source A bore well is proposed to meet the drinking water requirement. Pond water (located in Damdami village at a distance of about 1 km) will be used for the purpose of plantation and Dust suppression. 3.9 Energy requirement & source As mine lease is located in remote area, electricity connection is not available. However a DG set is proposed to meet the energy requirement Quality of waste to be generated & its Disposal The average thickness of overburden, which is mostly moorum is around 3m. Quantity of moorum materials to be removed during the first two years of plan period will be around 5,00,100 M 3 which will be sold as one of the product. Mine access road is about 1.0 km. 4.2 Land Form, Land use, Land ownership Land within the lease area is hilly devoid of any vegetation with outcrop of rocks/ moorum. The land within the lease area is barren land & is owned by the government. Land ownership - land is owned by the government. The application for the grant of new mine lease has been submitted to Department of Mines & Geology, Govt. of Jharkhand for a period of 10 years in favour of project proponent. 4.3 Topography with map The land within the lease area is undulating. 4.4 Existing Land use pattern (Agriculture, Non-Agriculture forest, water bodies, shortest distance from periphery of project of forest to national park, wild life sanctuary from sensitive area, water bodies (distance from HFL of River) Non agricultural barren land. 29 Stone mined from the quarry are to be crushed to size for the use as road metal or building aggregate. For this purpose a crusher unit will be installed nearby mine lease area. 5.2 Residential Area The skilled & semi-skilled staffs are to be recruited from nearby area. For them no residential facilities are required. 5.3 Green Belt 7.5m wide green belts consisting of 6 rows of trees are proposed to be developed along the periphery of the leasehold as well as promises in which infrastructures are located. It is proposed to use native species that are evergreen and fruit bearing. 5.4 Social Infrastructure Social infrastructures like school, primary health centers already exist around the mine site. And since no residential complex is proposed to be developed, there is no proposal to develop additional social infrastructure for the project. 5.5 Connectivity The mine site is connected to Chatarpur Hussainabad Road (21 km from Hussainabad). Mine access road is about 1.0 km. 5.6 Drinking Water Management A bore well will be provided for drinking water purposes. Drinking water requirement is estimated as 1.5 KLD. 5.7 Sewerage System A septic tank cum cess pool is proposed to be provided to treat sewage produced from toilets, washroom etc located in office rest shelter & first aid centre. 5.8 Industrial Waste Management

30 There is no source for industrial waste water generation however during raining season, water will accumulate in the stone quarry. This will be pumped and stored in a tank located in green belt area. 5.9 Solid Waste Management The mined off solid waste/ sub grade material (if any) will be utilized for reclamation work and dressing of haul roads outside the mine lease area Power Requirement As mine lease is located in remote area, electricity connection is not available. However a DG set is proposed to meet the energy requirement. CHAPTER- VI PROPOSED INFRASTRUCTURE 6.1 Introduction

31 The proposal relates to obtaining Environmental Clearance for an opencast stone mine. Environmental Clearance is required for a new mining lease. Infrastructures required to operate the mine have been developed. 6.2 Industrial Area Project involves mining of stone boulder by opencast mining method. Mined out boulders are to be transported to crusher. Thus in lease area industrial activity is limited to mining and crushing of stone boulder only. This covers an area of Ha (45.0 Ac). 6.3 Residential Area mine. There is no provision for residential area. Local people will be employed in the 6.4 Green Belt It is proposed to develop green belt of 7.5 m width consisting of 6 rows of Trees. Only native species of trees will be used. 6.5 Social Infrastructure Social infrastructures like School, Primary Health Centre, post office etc already exist in proximity (within 3 km) of mine site. 6.6 Connectivity The mine site is connected to Chatarpur Hussainabad Road (21 km from Hussainabad). Mine access road is about 1.0 km. 6.7 Drinking Water Management One bore well is proposed to meet the water requirement for drinking purposes. 6.8 Sewerage System A septic tank has been developed to treat sewage being generated in Rest Shelter.
