The workshop was developed in parallel with the market requirements and the modernization of agriculture until, in 1969, it produced the first farm trailer, one of its main products. Following this strong growth, in 1982 is made the first export and in 1986 Herculano was officially recognized as a LEADER in the manufacture and sales of agricultural semi-trailers in Portugal, leadership of which it still holds. In May 1997, HERCULANO was acquired by the Ferpinta Group and the Holding Group "FERPINTA SGPS" held 80% of capital that date. With great experience in the production and marketing of steel, steel pipes, structural steel pipes and plate formats, the Ferpinta Group brought a new dynamic, not only to the financial aspect but also to the strategic view of the market. This was achieved trough PROFESSIONALISM, PRODUCT QUALITY, SERVICE and constant INNOVATION. The results were fast to appear. In 1998, HERCULANO was the 1st Portuguese company to receive the QUALITY seal from the Portuguese Institute of Quality on its FRONT LOADERS. In December 2005, continuing the company's consolidation and expansion project, the "FERPINTA SGPS (now owning 100% of the shares), increased the Social Capital of the company to ,00 Euros. Groundforce Portugal is the main Portuguese ground handling services provider, with 65% market share. With over 60 years of activity, Groundforce has operated in twelve airports in Europe and Africa. The company COFISA, conservas de peixe da Figueira, S.A. was founded on one of April 1981, established in Buarcos, sítio Srª da Nazaré. The canning activity started in this site in 1950 under the name of Conservas Avis, then to Bordalo Franco e Cª, and finally to COFISA that on five of Setembro of 1992 was moved to new premises in the embankment of the fishing port of Figueira da Foz. In the beginning of that decade, due to a scarcity of tuna in the Algarve Sea, the canning activity was displaced to the Azores archipelago, a place of privileged passage for tuna, on its migration routes through the oceans. The company COFISA, a national leader in the manufacture of canned fish, specializes in the manufacture of canned sardines and mackerel, mainly for the domestic market and Italian. Currently, between the industrial poles of COFACO placed upon the islands of S.Miguel (Rabo de Peixe) and Pico(Madalena), over 600 people work with more than 15 thousand tonnes of tuna per year.
