These components include design principles, light, shadow, color, shape, balance, rhythm and proportion. IMB 102 PROFESSIONAL BASIC DESIGN (0+0+4) 2 ECTS: 5 (Mesleki Temel Tasarım) Three dimensional design principles, texture, form, three dimensional objects and space practises. HIST 101 HISTORY of TURKISH REPUBLIC I (2+0+0) 2 ECTS 2 (Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Tarihi I) The characteristics of Turkish Republic and Ataturk s revolutions in the context of culture, ideology and history. HIST 102 HISTORY of TURKISH REPUBLIC II (2+0+0) 2 ECTS 2 (Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Tarihi II) Analysis of Turkey s intellectual basis; political, economical and cultural movements of the republican period. Nationalism and nation-state in Turkey. TUR 101 TURKISH I (2+0+0) 2 ECTS 2 (Türkçe I) Description of communication and language,its relation with ideas, culture, society and literature.characteristics of Turkish with samples, types of expressions and expression disorders. TUR 102 TURKISH II (2+0+0) 2 ECTS 2 (Türkçe II) Characteristics of expressions, types of writing and communication with selected text examples from the masters of the world and Turkish literature. ING 101 GENERAL ENGLISH I (3+1+0) 3 ECTS 5 (Genel İngilizce I) Gaining the four main language skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) in the elementary level. Learning grammatical structures and vocabulary related to this level. Practicing theoretical grammar and grammar rules in writing and speaking exercises with basic sentences. 1

Prerequisite: ING 101 IMB 111 ARCHITECTURAL TECHNICAL DRAWING and PERSPECTIVE I (1+1+2) 2 ECTS: 4 (Mimari Teknik Çizim ve Perspektif I) Introduction of technical drawing tools, drawing the basic geometric forms, two and three dimensional exercises, the cavalier and axonometric perspectives of three dimensional geometric forms. IMB 112 ARCHITECTURAL TECHNICAL DRAWING and PERSPECTIVE II ( 1+1+2) 2 ECTS: 4 (Mimari Teknik Çizim ve Perspektif II) Exercises intended to draw complex three dimensional forms, basic projects in plan-sectionelevation relations and artistic perspective. IMB 121 ARCHITECTURAL DRAWING (0+0+4) 2 ECTS: 4 (Mimari Desen) Strengthening the eye-brain-hand relation by emphasizing the structural characteristics of objects of different sizes. Using the knowledge and skills to improve the architectural studies. Western art: Prehistoric Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greek, Roma, Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Industrial Revolution, Romanticism, Realism, Impressionism, Expressionism, Art Nouveau, Dada, Cubism, Futurism, De Stijl, Surrealism, abstract Expressionism, Pop-Art, Op-Art and Post-Modernism. Determining the factors which affect their creation. GSE 151 BASIC PHOTOGRAPHY (2+0+0) 2 ECTS 4 (Temel Fotografi) The basic information of photography. The usage of theory, method and instrument in design and adaptation projects. The phenomenon and description of photography. The historical process. Camera obscure. Camera (analog/digital) and working principles. Eye/device relationship. Practical exercises. GSE 160 HISTORY of CIVILIZATION (3+0+0) 3 ECTS: 5 (Uygarlık Tarihi) The transition from one generation to another; the basic events and cases which create the civilization process. The old pre-asia and Egypt civilizations, Grecian and Helen civilizations and culture, Roman civilization, Medieval, Renaissance and Reform, Age of Enlightenment, American and French Revolutions, Industrial Revolution, movements of XIXth century, important events of the century, World Wars I and II. IMB 162 INTRODUCTION to COMPUTERS (2+0+0) 2 ECTS 3 (Bilgisayara Giriş) Computers, improvements, programming and general information about internet, basic programs and applications, building an infrastructure of presentation with Google Sketch Up in two and three dimensional designs, description and usage of Photoshop program. GSE 180 SOCIETY and MUSIC (3+0+0) 3 ECTS: 5 (Toplum ve Müzik) The development of music in time and effects of the social changes to music. Description and application of doors, windows, wall and floor coverings. IMB 222 FINAL CONSTRUCTION II (1+1+2) 2 ECTS: 4 (İnce Yapı II) Finishings of the structure. Ceiling coverings, light partition walls and detailing them. Description and application of doors, windows, wall and floor coverings. IMB 231 INTERIOR ANALYSIS SYSTEMS I (1+1+2) 2 ECTS: 4 (Mekân Bilgisi I) Introducing the types of houses and organizing spaces with different functions. Presenting and organizing the living spaces (living room, study room, bedroom, etc.) and service spaces (kitchen, bathroom, WC, etc.) with their components. 4

IMB 241 COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN I (2+0+0) 2 ECTS: 2 (Bilgisayar Destekli Tasarım I) Basic geometry knowledge. The main principles of computer aided design. Three dimensional drawing on computer. Google Sketch-Up program. Prerequisite: IMB 162 IMB 242 COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN II (2+0+0) 2 ECTS: 2 (Bilgisayar Destekli Tasarım II) Application of computer aided design on architectural drawing. Two and three dimensional architectural technical drawing. AutoCad; drawing program for general purposes. Prerequisite: IMB 162 IMB 261 BUILDING MATERIALS (2+0+0) 2 ECTS: 2 (Yapı Malzemesi) Description of building materials which are especially used in interior architecture. The behavior of these materials against various effects such as temperature, water, moisture; sunlight, fire, etc. and protecting the materials against these effects. IMB 271 CONSTRUCTION STATICS (3+0+0) 3 ECTS: 5 (Yapı Statiği) Basic concepts of static systems. Behavior of structural elements against different types of loads; compression, tension, bending and elastic deformation. IMB 272 ARCHITECTURAL MODEL MAKING (3+0+0) 3 ECTS: 5 (Mimari Maket) Model making at the design and presentation process, in perception of the third dimension. Techniques and materials in model making. IMB 273 IMAGE PROCESSING in COMPUTER (3+0+0) 3 ECTS: 5 (Bilgisayarda Görüntü İşleme) Transforming the drawn projects to a presentation by using image processing programs. Adobe Photoshop software. IMB 274 GENERAL MATHEMATICS (3+0+0) 3 ECTS: 5 (Genel Matematik) General concepts of mathematics. Functions, exponential and logarithmic functions. Limit, continuity and derivation. 5

IMB 277 ENVIRONMENT and CINEMA (3+0+0) 3 ECTS: 5 (Mekân ve Sinema) Outdoor-indoor, natural space-artificial space concepts in cinema, equipments of space and effects of historical periods to the design of spaces. IMB 279 STRUCTURES (3+0+0) 3 ECTS: 5 (Strüktür) Geometric, mechanic and physical factors which determine the formation and strength against deformation of any matter in architectural space. Three dimensional practices in order to improve the ability of abstract. ING 301 ENGLISH for SPECIAL PURPOSE I (3+1+0) 3 ECTS 5 (Özel Amaçlı İngilizce I) The English terminology of art elements and design principles. Exercises in order to analyze an artwork or design object in English terms. Improvement of talking and writing skills by using art history terminology. ING 302 ENGLISH for SPECIAL PURPOSE II ( 3+1+0) 3 ECTS 5 (Özel Amaçlı İngilizce II) Academic and professional works in English. Techniques of preparing letter of application, curriculum vitae; making oral or written presentations in English. IMB 301 PROJECT III (0+0+6) 3 ECTS: 7 (Proje III) Designing the interior space of a m 2 shopping center, office or a public space (market, bookshop, restaurant, exhibition stand, clubroom, etc.). Necessary furniture and equipments. Prerequisite: IMB 202 IMB 302 PROJECT IV (0+0+6) 3 ECTS: 7 (Proje IV) Designing the interior space of a (500 m 2 or more area) community centre, district library, clinic, night club, boutique, etc. Necessary furniture, lighting and air-conditioning. The cultural values of the buildings, suitable construction technologies, measurement techniques and methods which may be used in these studies. IMB 371 ACOUSTICS (3+0+0) 3 ECTS: 5 (Akustik) Discussing acoustics, which is an important characteristic in living environment, taking it in hand with the aspects of sound, tone and audition; basic concepts.
