This involves hiring and evaluating members of the department, managing workflow and communication among librarians and staff members, strategic planning for the department that includes services for distance learners, participating in university and library committees, providing instruction and reference service, selecting reference materials to support the curriculum, and mentoring members of the department. As a department head I also participate in the Libraries strategic planning to support the needs of the university community. Interim Associate Dean of Libraries, University of Wyoming Libraries, Fall 2005, continued part-time Spring Oversaw the day to day operations of the main and three branch libraries, facilitated the management, workflow and communication among eight departments and administrative staff.
