5 Smart Goal # Cherryville High School Improvement Plan Strategic Plan Goal: Goal #1 Goal 1 Strategic Plan Goal focus area: 1.1 Graduation Rate 1.1, 1.2 Current Status: During the school year, CHS had 34 students drop out of high school. School Interim Goal : Reduce the number of students to 24. School Goal : Reduce the number of students that drop out to 12. Data Used: Drop out reports School Improvement Team decides what the focus will be Strategies(Action Steps) Implementation Team What Data will you collect When will you monitor? By the end of the first six weeks or as students fall behind, CHS will develop a graduation plan for students who are behind in credits. Counselors, Principal, Assistant Principal New students enrolled, Credits earned vs credits attempted report from Powerschool, We will also track the number of graduation plans created and their success rate. SSMT weekly, when new students enroll We will meet weekly with students at-risk of failure. Students will use online classes and Apex Credit Recovery Software. Students will be identified by tracking attendance, behavior, grades, and Apex progress. SSMT- CHS Cares, Student Success Coordinator, NCVPS Coordinator # of at-risk students and their improvement, At-risk report, We will also create SSMT logs traking students progress. 10 Compliance Statements 1. Describe your plan to provide duty-free lunch to all teachers -All CHS are given a 30 minute duty free lunch period regardless of thier subject area. 2. Describe your plan to provide planning time for each regular classroom teacher each week, with the goal of 5 hours per week. - All teachers have a 90 minute planning block daily. Meetings during planning periods are limited to once a week. 3. Physical activity is not denied to any students as a means of discipline, nor physical activity used as a form of punishment (K-8 only) 4. Each student participates in an average of 30 minutes per day of physical activity outside of the physical education class (K -8 only).
