9 Mission Statement The mission of the Marion Independent School District is to prepare all students with the skills required to enter future adult roles and become effective citizens, productive workers, informed consumers, and responsible family members.

11 Board Goals Student Learning Support the development and implementation of curriculum that will best address the MISD mission of preparing all students for future adult roles. Facilities Support the development and implementation of a district facility growth plan to meet future district needs. Fiscal Support fiscal accountability by increasing the unassigned fund balance/unrestricted net position and addressing the special education deficit.

29 MONITORING & ACCOUNTABILITY
30 Monitoring and Accountability - Process Classroom teachers and teams analyze student data and make researchbased instructional changes to instruction (RTI). Building Leadership Teams (BLT) analyze staff implementation data of initiatives. Administrators conduct classroom visits, Instructional Rounds and evaluations in the classrooms. Peers visit classrooms of others in their buildings, other buildings and other districts Professional Development time is allowed towards understanding assessments and how to use the data. C-Plan is written with input from staff, DLT, SIAC, and school board. APR & AYP are reviewed annually to monitor district progress. DLT recommends several possible areas of improvement to the SIAC for further review and data analysis. The SIAC makes the final recommendations to the school board. School Improvement Process includes drafting plans in spring, finalizing over summer, and implementing in the fall.
