The drains at the bottom of the hill are blocked. Pedestrians could not actually get across the bridge this morning as there was so much water at the bottom, covering the footpath and road. The water is still there as it is coming off nearby hills and there is also a lot of mud. As you travel along Coppice Row past the Bull pub on the left, you go over a railway bridge towards Ayebridge, the very first road on the left as you come off the bridge is Station Hill. This is quite a distance. I cannot imagine other road users being banned from the highway like this and told to push their vehicle. And there is broken glass on the pavement. Could something else have been arranged, like leaving a wider road in use with room for cyclists or even painting a cycle lane on half the pavement so that people can at least ride. Your website suggests:'the Essex Cycling Strategy is a collection of policies and related action plans that work together to encourage the creation of cycling facilities and to promote cycling throughout Essex. It is intended to cater for the present and future needs for cycling in the county.' I see little evidence of this anywhere, but specifically in this instance. The bridge works in Theydon Bois where Coppice Row meets Abridge Rd.
