7 Befre Yu Begin On a server running Windws Server 2003, befre yu install DcAve Manager using the Built-in database, Windws Installer 4.5 must be installed first. Dwnlad and install Windws Installer 4.5 prir t installing DcAve 6 Manager. The 32-bit perating systems are nt supprted t use the built-in database when installing DcAve. If yu want t use the DcAve functins in SharePint Online 2013, yu must install.net Framewrk 4.5 r the later versins n at least ne f the Agent servers in the Agent Grup used t perfrm the crrespnding jb. SharePint Agent Accunt Permissins Ensure the SharePint agent accunt has the fllwing permissins: 1. Lcal System Permissins: The specified Agent Accunt will be granted Full Cntrl permissin t the fllwing grups and flders during DcAve Agent installatin: IIS_WPG (fr IIS 6) r IIS_IUSRS (fr IIS 7 and IIS 8) Perfrmance Mnitr Users DcAve Users (the grup is created by DcAve autmatically and it has the fllwing permissins): 2. Lcal Permissins The Agent Accunt shuld be added t the fllwing three grups: DcAve Users DcAve requires particular permissins spread acrss the whle system, s DcAve creates the lcal grup DcAve Users t accunt fr these permissins. Then, admins can simply add users t this grup t acquire the required permissin. Detailed Permissins fr DcAve Users: Lcal Machine\Sftware\AvePint\DcAve6 is created by DcAve installatin. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentCntrlSet\Services\EventLg: Permissin t this registry is needed fr writing t the event lg. Lg n batch permissin is used when DcAve starts a new prcess under the Agent accunt. DcAve uses batch lg n and impersnate t create the new prcess. IIS_IUSRS (fr IIS7 r 8) / IIS_WPG (fr IIS6) DcAve uses the WCF prt sharing service; these grups have permissins t use prt sharing. Backup Operatrs VSS backup needs this permissin, but it can be ignred if yu are nt using Platfrm Backup & Restre. Perfrmance Mnitr Users DcAve uses.net perfrmance cunter API, and SharePint API als uses it internally. This permissin is required by.net API. 8 DcAve 6 Installatin Guide

9 SQL Permissins The Agent Accunt is required t act as the db_wner f all databases related t SharePint, including Cntent Database, Cnfig Database and Central Admin Database. This is because the SharePint API perates these databases internally and therefre requires these permissins. SharePint Permissins The Agent Accunt is required t be the SharePint Farm Administratr. This is because DcAve need permissin t brwse Web applicatins, access farm services, etc. The Agent Accunt is granted Full Cntrl Permissin t all znes f all Web applicatins via User Plicy fr Web Applicatins. DcAve needs this permissin t access all site cllectins with the Agent Accunt. With Full Cntrl Permissin, the user is able t retrieve data such as Web template schema, field schema, and feature definitin frm 14 Hive via SharePint API (even if UAC is enabled). *Nte: Fr SharePint 2013, the Agent Accunt is granted the Full cntrl and accunt perates as system accunt t all znes f all Web applicatins via User Plicy fr Web Applicatins. Accunt perates as system accunt is needed t create the micrfeed list. User Prfile Service 2010 Use Persnal Features DcAve needs this permissin t access user prfile and user prfile prperties. Create Persnal Site DcAve needs this permissin t create persnal site if needed. Use Scial Features, which is related t Dcument Tagging, Scial Cmment (Dcument Ntes) DcAve needs this permissin t access and create scial cmpnents, such as tags. User Prfile Service 2013 Create Persnal Site DcAve requires this fr persnal strage, newsfeed, and fllwed cntent. Adding DcAve 6 t Yur Anti-Virus Exclusin List In sme cases, yur anti-virus sftware may negatively impact the perfrmance f certain DcAve jbs. If yu ntice slw data transfer rates, r if yu simply want t remve yur anti-virus sftware frm the jb perfrmance equatin altgether, add the \AvePint\DcAve6 directry t yur anti-virus sftware s exclusin list. 15 Fr example, if the Windws Firewall is enabled n the servers which have installed DcAve, yu must make sure the 14000, 14001, 14002, and prts are allwed in the Inbund Rules n the crrespnding servers. *Nte: The prt numbers may vary accrding t the settings cnfigured when installing DcAve 6 in yur envirnments. In this example, the default prts are used. Remte t the server where the DcAve 6 Timer Service is installed, and cmplete the fllwing steps: 1. Navigate t Start > Administrative Tls > Windws Firewall with Advanced Security. 2. Right click Inbund Rules under Windws Firewall with Advanced Security n Lcal Cmputer and click New Rule. 3. In Rule Type step, select Prt t cnfigure the inbund rule fr the prts used by DcAve 6 Timer Service. 4. Click Next. 5. In Prtcl and Prts step, specify the rule t be applied t TCP, and then select Specific lcal prts ptin. Enter in the textbx. 6. Click Next. 7. In Actin step, select the Allw the cnnectin ptin t allw the cnnectin t the prt Click Next. 9. In Prfile step, keep the default selectin, which is selecting all the three ptins. 10. Click Next. 11. In Name step, enter the Name and an ptinal Descriptin fr this inbund rule. 12. Click Finish t finish creating the inbund rule. 13. 16 DcAve Manager System Requirements DcAve Manager cnsists f three services, Cntrl Service, Media Service, and Reprt Service. Cntrl Service Manage all DcAve peratins and allws users t interact with the web-based DcAve platfrm. All agents can cmmunicate with the manager thrugh the Cntrl Service, s it is imperative that the machine yu install the cntrl service n is accessible by all agent machines. This service can be run n a server cluster t ensure high availability; if the cntrl service were t g dwn, a standby service in the cluster wuld be enabled by an administratr. Fr mre infrmatin, refer t the DcAve Cntrl Service High Availability sectin f this guide. Media Service Perfrms assistant jbs such as managing the retentin rules and managing the backup jb data. This service can be installed n multiple machines. Using multiple media services allws fr high availability and lad-balanced access t the data strage lcatins. Reprt Service Manages all SharePint data cllectin and management, mnitr SharePint activities and return the data t the Cntrl Service fr prcessing. This must be cnfigured with the assciated SQL databases and SQL Reprt Services. This service is critical fr using the DcAve Reprt Center mdule. *Nte: DcAve Reprt service can be installed n multiple servers and can be lad balanced. Hwever, all the Reprt services must share the same Reprt Database and Auditr Database. They can either be run n the same server as yur DcAve Agent, r split acrss several servers. Fr mre infrmatin n DcAve Manager services, refer t Installing DcAve Manager. While it is pssible t have the DcAve Manager and DcAve Agent n a single server, it is nt recmmended. Fr the best perfrmance, install the Manager s services acrss multiple servers, and install nly the necessary Agents n the Agent servers. Duble click the Setup.exe file. 3. After the welcme screen appears, click Next. 4. Enter yur name and the rganizatin int the prvided field. Click Next. 5. Carefully review the DcAve License Agreement. There are three services yu can install: Cntrl Service Manage all DcAve peratins and achieve the web-based DcAve platfrm, allwing users t interact with the sftware. All agents can cmmunicate with the manager by Cntrl Service, s it is imperative that the machine yu install the cntrl service n is accessible by all agent machines. Media Service Perfrms assistant jbs such as managing the retentin rules and managing the backup jb data. This service can be installed n multiple machines. Using multiple media services allws fr high availability and ladbalanced access t the data strage lcatins. Reprt Service Manages all SharePint data cllectin and management, mnitr SharePint activities and return the data t the Cntrl Service fr prcessing. This must be cnfigured with the assciated SQL databases and SQL Reprt Services. This service is critical fr using the DcAve Reprt Center mdule. *Nte: DcAve Reprt service can be installed n multiple servers and can be lad balanced. Hwever, all the Reprt services must share the same Reprt Database and Auditr Database. Click Next. 8. DcAve will perfrm a brief pre-scan f the envirnment t ensure that all rules meet the requirements. The status fr each rule will be listed in the Status clumn. Click the hyperlink f the status, the detailed infrmatin abut the scan result will be listed in the ppup windw. Yu may click Details t can view the detailed infrmatin f all the requirements. If any rules have failed the pre-scan, update yur envirnment t meet the requirements, then click the Rescan buttn t check yur envirnment again. Once all rules pass, click Next. 9. Set up the Cntrl Service Cnfiguratin: Cntrl Service Hst Specify the current machine s hstname, IP address, r fully qualified dmain name (FQDN). The Cntrl Service manages internal cnfiguratin data, user access cntrl, scheduling, and jb mnitring. *Nte: Yu must ensure that the Cntrl service hst can cmmunicate with all f the Agent machines thrugh the entered hstname, IP address, r FDQN. IIS Web Site Settings Cnfigure the IIS web site settings fr the Cntrl Service. Yu can select t use an existing IIS web site r create a new IIS web site. The IIS web site is used t access DcAve Manager. Use an existing IIS web site Select an existing IIS web site frm the drp-dwn list, and if necessary, yu can adjust the Web Site Prt used t access the DcAve Cntrl Service. Create a new IIS web site Enter the web site name and create a new IIS web site fr the Cntrl Service. Build-in Certificate Uses the certificate prvided by DcAve. N additinal cnfiguratin is necessary. User-defined Certificate Enabling this ptin allws yu t select a certificate frm yur lcal machine. Use the Certificate Authenticatin server f the current machine t check whether the certificate is revked and filter the certificates t nly display the certificates that are nt revked. 16. In the Ready t install DcAve Manager page, all f the infrmatin cnfigured in the previus steps is listed. Click Install t begin the installatin. Click Back t change any f the previus settings. Befre using the DcAve Cntrl Service high availability in this case, make sure the fllwing requirements are met: Enter the hstname r IP address f each individual server when installing DcAve Cntrl service n the crrespnding server. Use the Netwrk Lad Balanced cluster public IP address when installing ther DcAve Manager services. Use the Netwrk Lad Balanced cluster hstname and public IP address when accessing DcAve. If yu installed DcAve Cntrl service n several separated servers, yu must register the agents and media service t the Cntrl service yu want t access DcAve with. DcAve will perfrm a brief pre-scan f the envirnment t ensure that all rules meet the requirements. The status fr each rule will be listed in the Status clumn. Click the hyperlink f the status, the detailed infrmatin abut the scan result will be listed in the ppup windw. Click Details and yu can view the detailed infrmatin f all the requirements. Update yur envirnment t meet the requirements if there are sme rules checked failed. Click the Rescan buttn t check yur envirnment again. Once all rules pass, click Next. Prir t setting up the Cmmunicatin Cnfiguratin between the Agent hst and the Cntrl Service hst, yu must ensure the fllwing requirements are met: The Cntrl service has been installed n a specific machine which can cmmunicate with the current server. The current server s Internet Explrer brwser is nt using a prxy server. With the requirements abve are met, set up the Cmmunicatin Cnfiguratin: DcAve Agent Hst Specify the current server s hstname, IP address r fully qualified dmain name (FQDN). DcAve Agent Prt The prt specified here is used by the Manager r ther Agents fr cmmunicatin. The default prt number is Cntrl Service Hst The hstname r IP address f the machine where installed Cntrl service. Cntrl Service Prt This is the prt used fr cmmunicatin with Cntrl Service and shuld match the infrmatin prvided during the Manager cnfiguratin. The default prt number is SSL Certificatin Specify the SSL Certificatin used fr the specified DcAve Manager. Click Next. 8. Set up the Agent Cnfiguratin: Agent Authenticatin Specify the Manager Passphrase specified when cnfiguring the DcAve Manager installatin. If yu frget the passphrase, yu can view it by navigating t DcAve > Cntrl Panel > System Settings > System Optins > Security Settings. Fr mre infrmatin, refer t the DcAve 6 Cntrl Panel Reference Guide. Agent Accunt Specify the Agent accunt under which the Agent activities are perfrmed. Fr detailed infrmatin n the permissins required fr each DcAve mdule, refer t that mdule s user guide. The ideal accunt permissins fr all DcAve prducts are specified belw. Click Next. 9. In the Ready t install DcAve Agent Page, review the custmer infrmatin yu defined. 10. Click Install t begin the installatin. Click Back t change any f the previus settings. Default directry The DcAve Manager will be installed t the default installatin lcatin n the specified destinatin server, which is \Prgram Files\AvePint\DcAve6\Manager. Custmized directry If yu select this ptin, enter a custmized path in the Installatin Path field where yu wish t install the DcAve Manager n the destinatin server. Use the default directry if yur custmized directry is invalid Enable this ptin t install DcAve Manager t the default directry shuld the path yu defined fr custmized directry be invalid. Fr example, if the drive indicated by the path yu specified des nt exist n the destinatin server. 6. Select the DcAve Manager services yu want t install. There are three services yu can install. Cntrl Service Manages all DcAve peratins and cmmunicates with the webbased DcAve platfrm, allwing users t interact with the sftware. All agents cmmunicate with the manager via the Cntrl Service, s it is imperative that the machine yu install the cntrl service n is accessible by all agent machines. This service can be run n a Windws Netwrk Lad Balanced cluster t ensure high availability. Otherwise if the cntrl service is unavailable, a standby service in the cluster needs t be enabled by an administratr, and all agents and media service need t be reregistered t the new Cntrl service. Fr mre infrmatin, refer t the DcAve Cntrl Service High Availability sectin f this guide. Media Service Perfrms assistant jbs such as managing the retentin rules and managing the backup jb data. Click Next. *Nte: DcAve Reprt service can be installed n multiple servers and can be lad balanced. Hwever, all Reprt services must share the same Reprt Database and Auditr Database. 7. Set up the Cntrl Service Cnfiguratin: IIS Web Site Settings Cnfigure the IIS web site settings fr the Cntrl Service. The IIS web site is used t access DcAve Manager. 61 Unattended Installatin DcAve Agent The DcAve Agent can be installed remtely using the unattended installatin after the Manager s services have started.
