2 The machines of the FoamCUT SUPERCUT Series are multifunctional computeraided cutting systems for miscellaneous professional applications. With the tools included in the standard delivery contents for the SUPERCUT Machines the following applications can be realised. The SUPERCUT Series at a glance Processing EPS and XPS foam materials Contour cutting using the cutting wire which is heated to a temperature of 300 C. Shelling 3-dimensional forms, e.g. splitting figures and chassis parts with a hot formed wire lance Production of 3-dimensional rotationsymmetric parts, e.g. screwed columns with formed hot wire on the rotary plate EPS Expanded Polystyrol Hard Foam Styropor (polystyrene) is the registered trademark of BASF for expanded polystyrene (EPS). EPS is supplied to the foam manufacturers in the form of glass-like pearls with a diameter ranging between 0,2 and 3 mm. In the manufactured formed components the individual foam pearls are easily identified. The natural colour of the foam is white. Polystyrene is supplied in large blocks or already cut to boards. The pressure resistance depends on the size of the pearls used. Processing synthetic material, wood and cardboard paper 3-dimensional milling and engraving of polyurethane foam (Signfoam and soft wood) Milling and engraving moulds of synthetic material, cardboard paper and plexiglass with the hand milling machine (100 W) integrated into the lightweight milling axis up to 3 mm thick, resp. in the rigid milling axis (500 W) up to 10 mm thick (see optional accessories) XPS Extruded Polystyrene Hard Foam: Available from a variety of providers, e.g. Dow Chemicals or BASF in various colours and under various names, e.g. Styrodur, Styrofoam. XPS hard foam is characterised due to its homogeneous cell structure by a smooth surface. These boards have a greater resistance to pressure in comparison with styrene. They are especially suitable for manufacturing plastic letters and logos, as well as for model construction. Styrodur and Styrofoam are hardly combustible according to DIN 4102, building material class B1. 02
