1 25 th Jewish Culture Festival J u ne 25 th July 5 th, 2015 K ra ków PROGRAM REPORT 25 th anniversary edition of the Jewish Culture Festival in Krakow was devoted to the Jewish quarters ¼ quarter Jewish quarter Celebrating anniversary edition of this largest presentation of contemporary Jewish culture, we decided not to make any kind of summary or balance of all previous editions, but rather to speak about what has created the festival and in the same time what festival helped to create: a space for contemporary Jewish life in the historical Jewish quarter of Krakow. In lecture series, workshops, presentations and event musical events, we presented various aspects related to Jewish quarters understood not only as a part of the city but more generally as a physical, social and historical space, where Jews have lived. There were many social projects, encouraging to interact with the space, history and other people. To make the idea of Quarter a reality, we built Festival Quarter a complex of pavilions next to the Old Synagogue in Krakow, that were the heart of this year edition of the festival. It was a public space for inhabitants of Kazimierz and festival guests, where they could meet, interact and spend time in an active way. The Quarter housed Reading room, Cheder Café, Gelada Studio and was a venue for many festival events as well as for hanging out with new and old friends. 25 th Jewish Culture Festival was held under the Honorary Patronage of HE Bronisław Komorowski, President of the Republic of Poland. Małopolska Region was the Main Partner of the festival in the framework of the program Małopolska. Everything is Alright! The festival was dedicated to the late Miriam Akavia, Krakow-born Israeli writer, who passed away in January 2015.
