3 2 GETTING STARTED This section will take you through how to access the K&L Dance Online Class portal. Trial Classes Before you sign up you can see exactly how the classes are delivered by viewing our Online Classes Trial. Follow the steps below: 1. Go to the K&L Dance Website at 2. From the menu, select Dance Classes -> Online Classes -> K&L Online Classes Portal (as shown below) or go straight to

4 3 3. Find the video set called Online Classes Trial and click View this set. 4. Click the (Play button) on the video.

5 4 Using the Video Player The K&L Dance Online Classes Video Player is shown below. An explanation of how to use the Video Player can be found here: 1. The Play/Pause button can be used to start and stop the video playback. 2. The Video Progress bar can be used to skip forward or backwards through a movement. You can jump back to wherever you were up to easily by clicking at different places in the bar. Make sure you give the video time to seek to the desired position before clicking again. 3. The Volume Control bar can be used to increase or decrease the volume. 4. The Maximise button will change the video to be fullscreen or back to a window display.

6 5 Asking K&L questions about the movements Asking K&L questions about the class is simple and can be done using the Video Player as follows: 1. Seek to the position in the video where you want to ask the question 2. Pause the video using the Play/Pause button 3. Click the + Button shown by the Number 1 in the screenshot below 4. Click Add comment shown by the Number 2 in the screenshot below

7 6 5. Type your question into the comment box such as What is the timing for the step pivot? and click the OK button as shown in the screenshot below. 6. Your question is now visible to other students and K&L will answer it either by replying to the question in the video or in the monthly student webcast video if it requires demonstration. Make sure you keep an eye out for the answer.

8 7 Change Video Quality You can change the quality that the video is delivered by following these steps: 1. Press the Select Quality button on the video player. 2. Select either 720p (High Definition) or 480p (Standard Definition). It will take up to 10 seconds to change the stream to the new format you have selected. The indicates the current quality being delivered to you.

9 8 JOINING A CLASS Students can join one or more online classes. Currently the following classes are offered: Zouk Lambada Beginners Zouk Lambada Intermediate Zouk Lambada Advanced Samba de Gafieira Beginners Samba de Gafieira Intermediate Samba de Gafieira Advanced Zouk Lambada ALL Levels Samba de Gafieira ALL Levels

10 9 To join a class follow these steps: 1. Press the Subscribe button next to the class you would like to join (as shown below in the screenshot). 2. You will redirected to where you can select the method of payment.

11 10 Pay Using Paypal 3. You can choose to pay the monthly subscription using Paypal by entering in your Paypal account (1) and Password (2) and pressing the Login Button (3). 4. The details of the monthly payment will be shown and press Agree and Pay to continue.

12 11 Pay Using Credit Card 5. Alternatively, if you do not have a Paypal account, you can pay your monthly subscription fee using any MasterCard, Visa, or Discover credit card. 6. From the Paypal screen, press Pay using your credit or debit card as shown in the screenshot below.

13 7. On the payment details screen enter all the necessary information including the security check and click continue (as shown in the screenshot below). 12

14 13 8. You will receive a Thank you message shown in the screenshot below. Click Return to Store (1). 9. You will very shortly receive three s: o From service@paypal.com.au confirming that you have paid the first month s payment. o From service@paypal.com.au confirming that you have set up an automatic monthly payment for your online class subscription. o From K&L Dance Online Classes notifying you that your subscription has started and providing you login details.

15 14 LOGGING IN If you have not yet joined a class please refer to the section on Joining a Class before reading further. To log in follow these steps: 1. Go to the K&L Dance Website at 2. From the menu, select Dance Classes -> Online Classes -> K&L Online Classes Portal (as shown below) or go straight to

16 3. Press the Login button in the top left corner of the screen as shown in the screenshot below. 15

17 4. From the you received from K&L Online Dance Classes when you joined the class, enter your (1) and Password (2) and press the Sign In (3) button as shown below. 16

18 5. If your login was successful it will say Signed in successfully as shown in (1) below. In this example, the student is enrolled in a number of courses including Zouk Lambada Beginners (2), Zouk Lambada Advanced (3) and Zouk Lambada Intermediate (4) and can click View this set to access their classes. 6. If the student wished to also join another class they could click Subscribe/Purchase button (5) and follow the instructions shown in the Joining a Class section of this help guide. 17

19 18 Changing your password To change your password: 1. Follow the steps in Logging In to log into your account. 2. Click the Account link at the top of the page. 3. Enter your new Password in box (1) and again in box (2) and click Update Account (3) as shown in the screenshot below. Logging out To logout once logged in: 1. Click the Logout link at the top of the page.

20 19 LEAVING A CLASS To leave a class follow the below instructions. You will no longer be charged a monthly fee for this class however will retain access to the class until your current billing period is over. Credit Card Subscriber If you do not have a Paypal account and subscribed to K&L Dance Online Classes using your credit card please us at info@kadularissa.com before the end of your subscription month, letting us know your name and which class you would like to unsubscribe from. We will process your cancellation and you will not be billed further for this class. Paypal Subscriber If you subscribed using your Paypal account, please follow the steps below to cancel your subscription. 1. Login to your K&L Dance account by following the instruction in the Logging In section. 2. Click View this set (1) on the class that you wish to leave as shown in the screenshot below.

21 20 3. Click the Unsubscribe (1) link at the top of the page. 4. Click the Proceed to Paypal (1) button at the bottom of the page.

22 5. You will be taken to Paypal to complete the cancellation. Login using your address and Password. 6. Click the Details link (1) next to the Video Subscription Service. 21

23 7. Click the View Details link (1) next to the Recurring Payment Sent. 22

24 23 8. Ensure that the Item name matches the class you wish to cancel (1). If not, click the < Previous page link at the top of the page and go back to Step If the Item name does match the class you wish to cancel, click the Cancel button (2). 10. Click Yes when asked to confirm if you wish to cancel this profile. 11. You will receive two s: o From service@paypal.com.au letting you know that your recurring payment has been cancelled. You will no longer be billed monthly for this class. o From K&L Dance Online Classes letting you know that your subscription to this class has been cancelled however you will still have access to it until the current billing period is over. 12. Click Log Out in Paypal to exit.

25 24 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Why K&L Online Dance Classes? Kadu & Larissa spend anywhere from 3-6 months per year travelling around the world and teaching classes at dance academies, congresses and other events sharing their passion for dance. Despite travelling to 15+ countries each year, students from around the world often ask how they can learn from Kadu & Larissa on an ongoing basis. The concept of online dance classes has been around for some time however what makes K&L Dance Online Classes different is that students can easily ask questions and have them answered regularly by K&L in their monthly videos. The other key difference of K&L Dance Online Classes to traditional methods of delivery, such as DVDs, are that students can view the videos anywhere, anytime and on any device directly through the online portal making this a very convenient way to learn. This medium also allows students to keep updated with the latest content as the courses will be regularly updated with the newest styles and movements. How do I get the most out of K&L Online Dance Classes? Online Dance Classes should be used as a supplement to attending traditional dance classes, workshops and events. You should not stop attending classes at your dance academy as receiving individual feedback on your style, technique and leading/following ability is essential. Our classes explain the technique, style and lead/follow on a series of movements that should be practiced with a partner. One of the advantage of online classes over traditional DVDs is you are no longer tied to your TV to practice these movements. You can now view the classes anywhere that you have a device and an internet connection. For example, take an ipad or a laptop to a dance studio and practice our movements with a partner. Are the same videos/movements on the K&L DVDs? No, all the videos on the Online Classes portal have been recorded especially for this teaching medium. Whilst some of the foundation movements are similar to those on the DVDs, they are explained in more detail in the online course. Should I buy K&L DVDs or join K&L Online Classes? Each teaching medium has its advantages. K&L Online Classes give students: The opportunity to ask questions about the movements and receive answers. In this way K&L Online Classes are the next best thing to attending a live class with Kadu & Larissa. The convenience of being able to view the classes anywhere, anytime, on any device. There is no delay in receiving the material in the post nor are you tied to your TV to watch the DVDs. Access to the latest content. Courses will be regularly updated with the newest styles and movements.

26 25 What devices are supported? Any device with internet access and a browser can be used to access the K&L Dance Online Class portal. PCs, Macs, ipads, ipad Minis, iphones, Androids are all supported. Can I try before paying? Yes! Click Trial Classes to get started and see how to get access to trial classes to help you decide whether Online Classes are for you. Once I sign up am I locked in for classes? K&L Dance Online Classes are offered as a monthly subscription. You can cancel your subscription to one style or level at any time and will still receive access to the videos until the billing month has expired. You will not be billed further once you cancel your subscription. How do I subscribe/join a class? Refer to the Joining a Class section of this document for instructions on how to sign up to a class. How do I unsubscribe/leave a class? Refer to the Leaving a Class section of this document for instructions on how to leave a class. TROUBLESHOOTING I can t log in? K&L Dance Online Videos are streamed directly to the user in either High Definition (720p) or Standard Definition (480p) format. Video Content is delivered through a Content Delivery Network (CDN) worldwide to ensure students anywhere in the world can experience the videos in high definition.
