2 William F. Hamilton Partner, Quarles & Brady LLP Dean & Chairman, Department of E-Discovery, Bryan University William Hamilton is board certified in business litigation and intellectual property by the Florida Bar. His work includes complex business litigation in the areas of contract, software and technology disputes, intellectual property, e-commerce, data security, telecommunications, trade regulation, unfair trade practices, and internal investigations. Mr. Hamilton is also a neutral, arbitrator, and mediator for the World Intellectual Property Organization, the International Trademark Association, and the American Arbitration Association. He has been honored by inclusion in Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA, Florida Legal Elite, and Florida Super Lawyers. He is also a Litigation Counsel of America Fellow and a Fellow of the Florida Bar. Mr. Hamilton has been a pioneer in e-discovery education, having taught e-discovery and evidence at law schools, judicial conferences, and American Arbitration Association University. Mr. Hamilton is the co-author of the LexisNexis Practice Guide Florida E-Discovery and Evidence. Mr. Hamilton is currently the Chair of Quarles & Brady s e-discovery practice where he works closely with the firm s e-discovery litigation support team on a wide variety of electronic discovery projects. He is a member of The Sedona Conference Working Group on Electronic Discovery and is also a member of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model. Mr. Hamilton received his bachelor s degree cum laude from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and a master s degree in Philosophy from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He received his juris doctor cum laude from the University of Florida College of Law where he wrote for the Law Review.

3 Richard Cohen Vice Chairman, RenewData E-Discovery Board Member, Bryan University Mr. Cohen has more than 30 years of management, legal, corporate executive and general counsel experience. He has served as General Counsel at Ohio Power and Columbus Southern Power Companies, Senior Director of Corporate Legal Markets and Strategic Alliances/Licensing at Lexis-Nexis, Vice President at Lexford Residential Trust, Deputy Law Director for the City of Cuyahoga Falls, and Assistant Law Director for the City of Akron. Mr. Cohen has also served as Senior Vice President and managing director of Legal Services for a large legal services organization focusing on complex litigation matters and bankruptcies, and served as COO of Integrex Professional Claims Services where he was responsible for operations, IT, sales, and marketing. Currently, he leads RenewData s external activities and client advisory service functions. Mr. Cohen also serves on the Strategic Advisory Board for Trustifi Corporation, a provider of digital content authentication solutions, and has served as the President of the American Corporate Counsel Association in Ohio, Editor-in-Chief of the Electricity Journal, and former Editor of the Energy Information Bulletin. His prestigious memberships include the American and Ohio State Bar Associations, the ABA Class Actions/Derivative Suits Subcommittee, the Corporate Counsel Advisory Board for The Metropolitan Corporate Counsel, former Chair of the American Bar Association s Coordinating Group on Energy Law and the Ohio Electric Utility Legal Committee, and a former Co-chair of the American Bankruptcy Institute s Mass Torts Subcommittee. Mr. Cohen is a recipient of the Distinguished Legal Service Award conferred by Corporate Legal Times. Mr. Cohen holds a bachelor s degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a juris doctor from the University of Akron School of Law.

Cohen Director of E-Discovery Support Services, Winston & Strawn LLP E-Discovery Board Member & Professor, Bryan University Throughout his career, Scott Cohen has worked in a consultative capacity with law firms and corporate legal departments enabling them to effectively leverage technology in all legal practice areas. With a focus on electronic discovery, records management, and litigation readiness, he advises firm lawyers and clients on a wide variety of technical issues relating to discovery in complex litigation. Prior to joining Winston & Strawn, Mr. Cohen was the Practice Support Director for Proskauer Rose LLP, where he was responsible for the development and operation of the firm s practice support department. Mr. Cohen also served as the Director of Information Technology for MetLife, where he was responsible for providing general technology and litigation support services to the corporation s large and geographically dispersed legal, records and internal audit departments. As the Director of E-Discovery Support Services at Winston & Strawn LLP, Mr. Cohen is responsible for all aspects of the firm s litigation support technology, electronic discovery operations, and document review center management. He is a frequent writer and speaker on a variety of topics ranging from electronic discovery best practices and legal cost control, to leadership development, performance management, and staff mentoring in legal organizations. Mr. Cohen is a member of The Sedona Conference Working Group on Electronic Document Retention and Production and an Executive Board Member of the East Coast Association of Litigation Support Managers. He is also an active member of the International Legal Technology Association Practice & Litigation Support peer group, the Association for Information and Image Management, and the American Records Management Association.

5 Cecil A. Lynn III E-Discovery Counsel, Littler Mendelson P.C. E-Discovery Board Member & Professor, Bryan University Cecil A. Lynn has worked as General Counsel for an international apparel company which gave him an understanding of the corporate law environment. Prior to working in-house, he litigated several civil and criminal cases while working at two prestigious California-based law firms. In addition, he served as a trial attorney for the Civil Rights Division, Criminal Section of the United States Department of Justice, and he served as a special prosecutor for the National Church Arson Task Force. Mr. Lynn is a highly-regarded thought leader in the area of electronic discovery. He speaks and publishes on a wide variety of e-discovery topics including data retention, data collection, document review, data accessibility, and international e-discovery. Mr. Lynn has also taught an e-discovery certification program at California State University at Fullerton, and is a former adjunct professor at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California. Mr. Lynn is a member of The Sedona Conference, the Advisory Panel of the American Bar Association, and the Commercial Law Section of the National Bar Association. He is a member of the DRI E-Discovery Committee and is Co-chair of the DRI Diversity Committee. He is also a participant in the Electronic Discovery Reference Model, and a Co-chair of the Arizona State University e-discovery program. Mr. Lynn received a juris doctor from the University of California Hastings College of Law and a bachelor s degree with honors from New Mexico State University. He is admitted to practice law in Arizona, California, and the District of Columbia.

6 Browning E. Marean III Senior Counsel, DLA Piper E-Discovery Board Member, Bryan University Browning E. Marean is an internationally known teacher on various topics including electronic discovery, international discovery, records retention, knowledge management, and computer technology. He also frequently lectures on such topics as computer technology and its application to efficient practice and matter management, risk and decision analysis, legal ethics issues, director and officer liability, emerging securities fraud developments, knowledge management, and the selection and use of expert witnesses. In 1969, Mr. Marean joined DLA Piper, then Gray Cary Ames & Frye. He is now a Senior Counsel in DLA Piper s San Diego office and concentrates his practice in the areas of electronic discovery, professional responsibility, and knowledge management. In addition, he is a member of DLA Piper s Technology Committee, the Litigation Group, and he is Co-chair of the Electronic Discovery Readiness and Response Group. Mr. Marean is an emeritus member of the California State Bar Law Practice Management Committee and the San Diego County Bar Association s Legal Ethics committee. He is on the ABA Tech Show Planning Board and a member of The Sedona Conference. Mr. Marean is co-author of the 2010 edition of Electronic Discovery and Records Management Guide, Rules, Checklists and Forms, published by Thomson West, and Conducting Discovery in an Electronic World: Electronic Data and Discovery, published by California Civil Discovery Practice. Mr. Marean received his bachelor s degree from Stanford University and his juris doctor from the University of California, Hastings College of Law. He is admitted to practice in California and Texas and has been named a San Diego Super Lawyer.

7 Helen Bergman Moure Principal, Lex Aperta pllc E-Discovery Board Member & Professor, Bryan University Helen Bergman Moure served as a commercial litigator in federal and state court for more than 17 years. Since 1999, she has devoted her practice to the delivery of efficient and cost-effective e-discovery and document review services to a wide range of clients, from sole entrepreneurs, to Fortune 100 corporations. A former partner at K&L Gates in Seattle, she was one of the founding members of the firm s e-discovery Analysis and Technology (e-dat) Group and was involved in the development of the Patterns document review software created by Attenex, now owned by FTI. Ms. Moure has many years of experience structuring and supervising projects involving all aspects of the discovery process, from custodian identification and retention, to collection, processing, and review, to post-production litigation support. A frequent advisor to public and private organizations, she also assists in designing and implementing document retention systems and advising on litigation readiness. Ms. Moure is a frequent speaker on e-discovery and related issues and a longtime, active participant in The Sedona Conference. She is a member of the Advisory Board of the Association of Certified e-discovery Specialists, and in 2010 she founded Lex Aperta, a firm specializing in e-discovery legal advice and consulting. Ms. Moure received her bachelor s degree from Bryn Mawr College and her juris doctor from Boston University School of Law. After law school, she clerked for Magistrate Judge William C. Turnoff of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

8 Dera J. Nevin Managing Counsel, E-Discovery, Toronto-Dominion Bank Group of Companies E-Discovery Board Member & Professor, Bryan University Dera J. Nevin leads the Toronto-Dominion Bank of Companies global e-discovery initiative. Prior to joining the Bank, Ms. Nevin served as the Senior Director of Litigation Support Services at McCarthy Tétrault LLP. She is responsible for administering all e-discovery and electronic evidence management initiatives across the firm. Ms. Nevin is a practicing lawyer as well as counsel to the firm and its clients on matters of e-discovery, electronic evidence law and procedure and associated privacy law, international law relating to the production and exchange of evidence, and local documentary production requirements. She also advises on matters associated with the forensic capture or collection, and use in proceedings, of electronic evidence, including the requirements for obtaining and executing Anton Pillar Orders. Ms. Nevin has extensive project management experience in electronic document review initiatives, and she has supervised extensive review projects, including those occurring in multiple jurisdictions. She is proficient in numerous electronic data collection techniques and with multiple electronic evidence management and review tools. Ms. Nevin is responsible for coordinating electronic evidence consulting and tool procurement for McCarthy s, and she is featured in Understanding Canadian e-discovery, a McCarthy Tétrault video that introduces and demystifies the issues that clients face in electronic discoveries. Ms. Nevin is a member of the Sedona Canada WG7, the OBA s E-Discovery Implementation Committee, the Toronto Chapter of Women in e-discovery, and she is a participant in the Electronic Discovery Reference Model. She has spoken on a variety of topics relating to electronic evidence management including document review and production, large team coordination, international transmission of data, and the law of privilege and privacy in the management and exchange of electronic records. Her written articles have appeared in firm publications and in the Association of Corporate Counsel magazine. She writes a regular column on e-discovery Issues in Canadian Lawyer magazine, and she is a contributor to snip/its technology law blog. Prior to her appointment at McCarthy s, Ms. Nevin practiced corporate and commercial litigation at Ogilvy Renault LLP and Blakes LLP. Ms. Nevin received her bachelor s and master s degrees from Queen s University, Kingston, Ontario in 1995 and 1996, respectively, and her juris doctor from the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto in She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2002.

Quartararo Director of Litigation Support Services and Certified Project Management Professional, Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP E-Discovery Board Member & Professor, Bryan University Michael I. Quartararo began his career as a paralegal at large New York City law firms working in the general litigation, white collar, antitrust, and intellectual property practice areas. Mr. Quartararo worked for nearly ten years in the Litigation and Legal Technology Departments at the New York office of Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom, an unparalleled training ground on the cutting edge of electronic discovery and legal project management. There he managed large-scale class action and securities litigations, international litigation, and complex technology projects involving computer forensics, all aspects of electronic discovery, trial preparation, and trial presentation. Mr. Quartararo became one of the chief promoters of, and trainers in, the use of technology in the practice of law. He traveled to regional offices to implement and integrate best practices in the preservation, collection, review, and production phases of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM). In 2007, he oversaw the Legal Technology Department in Skadden s Los Angeles office where he led an expansion in their use of technology in litigation. In 2008, Mr. Quartararo joined Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP as their Manager of Litigation Support to build their Litigation Support Department into a center for excellence and professionalism. The services of the department span the EDRM and involve multiple practice areas including General Litigation, Intellectual Property, and Financial Restructuring. At Stroock, he introduced traditional project management principles and standardized work-flow processes for all phases of electronic discovery. He is one of the principal authors of the firm s best practices guidelines on electronic discovery and document review and production, and he has developed protocols and forms for the identification, preservation, collection, and retention of electronically stored information. Mr. Quartararo has in-sourced processing of electronically stored information and developed document review and production protocols that have increased review efficiency. He also spearheaded the development of an attorney and paralegal training program, and he provides training in the use of litigation technology tools. Mr. Quartararo regularly consults on technology and electronic discovery projects with attorneys and the firm s clients. Promoted to firm-wide director of Litigation Support Services in 2011, Mr. Quartararo currently leads a staff of 10 project managers and technical analysts who provide consulting, litigation support, technology, and training services to over 350 attorneys and paralegals in New York, Miami, and Los Angeles. Mr. Quartararo is a certified Project Management Professional, a certified E-Discovery Specialist and a certified Concordance Software Trainer. He is also a member of the Project Management Institute. He frequently speaks and writes on topics involving electronic discovery, litigation support, and information management. Mr. Quartararo obtained a bachelor s degree from the State University of New York, graduating cum laude with a major in psychology and a minor in music. He studied law at the University of London, Holborn College for one year.

10 George J. Socha, Jr. Principal, Socha Consulting LLC Co-Founder, EDRM E-Discovery Board Member, Bryan University After litigating cases for 16 years, in 2003 George J. Socha founded Socha Consulting LLC. He offered services as an electronic discovery expert witness, special master, and advisor to corporations, law firms, and legal vertical market software and service providers in the areas of electronic discovery and automated litigation support. In 2003, Mr. Socha and Tom Gelbmann initiated the leading survey on the electronic discovery industry, The Socha-Gelbmann Electronic Discovery Survey. This survey examines the direction, scope, and size of the electronic discovery industry ( In 2005 they launched the EDRM project (Electronic Discovery Reference Model - see net). From the original model to the eight current projects, the EDRM has helped electronic discovery consumers and providers reduce the cost, time, and manual work associated with electronic discovery. Mr. Socha has a bachelor s degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and a juris doctor from Cornell Law School.

11 Denise J. Talbert Partner, Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP E-Discovery Board Member & Professor, Bryan University Denise J. Talbert has over 16 years of experience in cost-effective discovery management in complex litigation including the preservation, collection, organization, review, and production of documents. In this capacity, Ms. Talbert has represented business interests in the chemical, communications, insurance, pharmaceutical, retail, tobacco, and transportation industries. She is a partner with Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP where she chairs the e-discovery, Data & Document Management Practice (ed3) and is a member of the Global Product Liability Group and Business Records Management & Consultation Practice. Ms. Talbert has published materials on e-discovery law in Bloomberg Law Quarterly and other national venues, and she routinely offers CLE presentations on this topic. She is also a member of The Sedona Conference Working Group on Electronic Document Retention and Production, and Merrill Corporation s Strategic Advisory Board for Electronic Data Discovery (EDD). Additionally, Ms. Talbert has been appointed to the LexisNexis Advisory Board. Ms. Talbert received her bachelor s degree from Kent State University and holds a master s degree in Creative Writing from Arizona State University.
