13 l l l l l SUNRISE Agents Thrugh the SUNRISE GATE, a user applicatin can cmmunicate with ndes in a testbed by exchanging cmmands and results. The gateways f testbeds interact with the SUNRISE GATE (using xml-based messages) t register and t uplad all requested infrmatin abut the testbed. Each gateway cllects requests and cmmands frm the GATE (using ne r mre well defined language accrding t the available plugins) and reprt the data t the GATE. A specific plugin is implemented t supprt the interactin with a specific prtcl/system at the testbed level (SUNSET currently integrated). Cmmunicatins between the GATE and the gateways is secured by the use f a VPN-based cnnectin.

15 GATE functinalities l l l l l l Web-based user level (frntend) and administratr level (backend) interfaces. Thrugh the web interface, users can register t the system and view infrmatin abut the testbeds. The GATE allws t autmatically discver each testbed and its resurces. Manual discvery f resurces is pssible t. After signing in, users can reserve the tesbed(s) and schedule a perid f tests. SUNRISE testbeds interactin fr standard users via web GUI, VPN client fr advanced users supprting direct cnnectin t SUNRISE resurces. Results f the cmpleted experiments can be saved (persistence) fr future analysis and sharing.

22 Open Calls SUNRISE prject SUNRISE is an FP7 FIRE Integrated Prject 60,6 % f the prject budget has been allcated t the implementatin f pen calls, crrespnding t 50,1 % f the requested EC cntributin. 25 SUNRISE Testbeds in Actin All testbed cmpnents have been largely tested, enhanced and imprved ver several at sea campaigns in the past years (LOON, Prt, Buffal). Nvel sftware and hardware slutins have been develped, integrated and validated. Using the SUNSET framewrk, which has been selected as the SUNRISE plugin, SUNRISE is able t supprt and integrate: 5 different acustic mdems Multiple netwrking slutins (MAC, Ruting, Crss-layering) Several envirnmental sensrs (CO2, CH4, ph, redx, pressure, salinity, cnductivity, O2, etc.) Multiple AUVs and ASVs
