Works with disabled individuals, starting at birth and also offers referrals. This is a free service. Northern Arizona Center Against Sexual Assault (NACASA) Address: 5200 E. Courtland Blvd., Suite B-5, Flagstaff, AZ Website: Provides a safe place for victims ages 16 and older to go for help and explore options after a sexual assault. Advocates are available to make referrals to resources in the community for healthcare counseling and legal assistance. Specially trained doctors and nurses are available to provide medical and forensic care immediately after an assault. A 24 hour on call system is available by calling the Flagstaff Police Dispatch at and asking them to page NACASA. All services are free. Serves schools with children from first grade to high school, as well as providing programs for teachers to present to their classes. Children are taught about tobacco and encouraged against its use through; poster contests, puppet shows, presentations, public awareness, and advertisements about the health hazards of tobacco use and second hand smoke. Must have a referral and individual contract with an agency. Aid to Adoption of Special Kids (AASK) Prescott Valley Website: Provides adoption and foster care. A non-profit educational corporation directed by a Christian board. Membership is open to all homeschooling parents in Arizona. Arthritis Foundation E. Osborn Rd., Suite 200 Phoenix, AZ info.caz@arthritis.org Website: Provides a juvenile arthritis support group, educational seminars and materials, education for educators in the differences between growing pains and arthritis, and Camp Cruise summer camp for children with arthritis. Camp Cruise is the only service that requires a fee. Assistance League of Flagstaff N. West St. Flagstaff AZ Website: Operation School Bell provides new clothes and a health kit to children from low income families that are recommended by a nurse within an affiliated school. Kiddy Closet provides new clothes, blankets, and diapers for babies whose family has been recommended through an agency. There are no fees and the organization is run by volunteers. Also helps find childcare for families in Flagstaff. Phone-Friend is a free statewide bilingual warm line for children to call before or after school for someone to talk to, for homework assistance, games and stories. Children can call or the Tempe line at Niños en Mi Casa recruits, trains, and provides technical and financial assistance to people interested in becoming self-employed as family care providers. The School Based Program offers an after school program for one hour once a week to those recommended by a parent, teacher, or outside program. This program serves Flagstaff and Williams. The third program, Vision in Progress (VIP), places children in a group situation to do outdoor and other activities once a week. BBBS is non-profit and there are no fees for any of the programs. The Emergency Service Program provides rental and utility financial assistance. Provides pregnancy counseling through the Adoption Program Services. These services are available to anyone who qualifies. Some services are free, and others vary depending on the services. Family and Community Teaming For Students (FACTS) E. Summer programs also available. Wide range of recreation and enrichment activities as well as academic support and tutoring are offered. The room is supervised daily. Children gather after they have eaten to receive help with reading and homework. Children are also offered a variety of educational computer programs, games, and crafts. There is no documentation of need required. We do not serve anyone who appears drunk, on drugs, or who creates a disturbance. Flagstaff Recreation Center N. Izabel St. Flagstaff, AZ Free activities for children including: Halloween carnival, winter holiday social, family game night, athletic training and conditions (13-18yrs. old), teen discussion group, teen study and job search, volleyball (18 + yrs. old), as well as a variety of summer programs. Folklorico Dance Classes or S. 3rd St. Williams, AZ Traditional dances are performed by children in of all ages, generally ranging between 6 to 13 years old. Girl Scouts/Arizona Cactus Pine Council E. Cedar Ave., Suite D1, Flagstaff, AZ Provides girls ages 5-17 with the opportunity to grow strong, learn skills, and give back to the community. Girls earn badges, do crafts, and play games. There is a small fee for the year, but there are exceptions for those with low income. Growing in Beauty /3485 P.O. Box 2669, Tuba City, AZ Growing in Beauty provides services to infants and toddlers with special needs who received a referral from a hospital or school. Services included are vision and hearing services, specialized instruction, special education and therapy, nutritional services, diagnostic evaluations, developmental assessments, assistive technology, and transportation. 14 Services provide social service referrals, problem solving, supplies as available, after school program at Killip Elementary, and networking with assistance programs. IHD Indian Children's Program and TTY: P.O. Box 5630, Flagstaff, AZ Website: Provides a variety of services including training and technical assistance, assessments, and follow-up for children and their families living on the Hopi Indian Reservation and Navajo Nation in Arizona. An interdisciplinary team conducts assessments in the setting most appropriate for the child, family, home, school, local health clinic, or other community based site. Family members are encouraged to participate in all aspects of the assessment. Training and technical assistance is provided to address a wide variety of developmental and educational topics. Birth to 18 years. Services are provided at no cost to families or agencies. Supplemental Services are offered when the responsible agency lacks the necessary resources to provide needed services. Leupp Youth Center CPO Box 5085, Leupp, AZ Website: leupp.nndes.org Located within the Leupp Community Center on the west side. Hours of operation are from 8 am (DST) to 8 pm (DST), Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, the center is open from 8 am (DST) to 5 p.m. (DST), closed on weekends.open to the general public and is free of charge. Weight and fitness equipment including free weights, a treadmill, two stationary bikes and a variety of leg machines are available. A computer lab with a scanner, internet services, word processing, reference and children s programs and art software are also available. The youth center also provides two separate programs for youth. The Youth Opportunity Program is open for enrollment to year olds. The Office of Dine Youth (ODY) program is for two separate age groups; 14 and under and year olds. No enrollment is needed for the ODY program NACOG Head Start E. Aspen Ave., Flagstaff, AZ headstart@nacog.org Website: Provides early education for 3-5 year olds. Income based eligibility. Navajo Nation Division of Social Services Child Care and Development or P.O. Box 280, Tuba City, AZ Child Care and Development, assists working parents who are also going to school, (Undergraduates, Vocational, or GED). Geared towards assisting parents who have children with special needs or who qualify for TANF (temporary assistance to needy families). Assistance with child care expenses, group homes, family or relative providers, and inhome child care services are provided. Page Head Start Physical Address: 11 Cameron Rd. Extended day care, meals, parent training, and opportunities for leadership roles are included. Parents must qualify to be offered the services, and no fees apply.
