5 University Requirements 180+ Quarter credit hours or more Courses need to be correctly distributed to satisfy BA/BS, UNST, & Major req s 72+ Upper division credit hours Courses numbered 300 or above Community/junior college courses transfer in as 299 or lower 2.0 Minimum GPA on PSU courses ( C average)

6 CCJ Major Requirements 36 CCJ credits in Core or Required courses 24 CCJ Elective credits (Min. 16 at or above 300 level) 8 CCJ credits of Internship All 68 CCJ credits used for major, whether taken at PSU or elsewhere, must be passed with a grade of C (2.00 GPA) or above Pass/no pass courses not be accepted

7 CCJ Scheduling Recommendations Focus mostly on required courses during your first year CCJ 300, 301, 303, 310, 320, 330, 380 Offered once a year - if you withdraw/fail you have a 2 nd chance Other required courses should wait until senior year CCJ 420 and 404 internship should only be taken in senior year Select electives based on the certificate(s) you want American Justice = CCJ 410 Organizational Change in CJ Advanced Crime Analysis = CCJ 410 Geographic Crim; CCJ 410 Crime Mapping; CCJ 435 Crime, Grime, & Fear Criminal Behavior = CCJ 370 Women, Crime & Justice; CCJ 410 Criminal Behavior; CCJ 410 Juv. 15 Financial Aid Eligibility To receive financial aid you must: Be enrolled at least half time (6 quarter credit hours) If participating in the Co-Enrollment program you must enroll in 6 or more units at PSU to receive aid from PSU for your community college courses Must be in good academic standing with PSU (min 2.0 GPA) Must be in good standing with Office of Student Financial Aid Minimum 2.0 GPA Complete at least 67% of attempted PSU credits

16 Financial Aid - Applications FREE Application Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) required for federal and state aid ( Students should not use alternate websites that charge a fee Applying for aid for yourself does not impact your dependents ability to receive aid Everyone should submit a FAFSA even if you do not end up using aid Make sure to reapply every year You can submit your FAFSA January 1 st of each year After applying begin checking Banweb ( Additional information needed from you Track the status of your application It generally takes 2-3 weeks to process an award

17 Financial Aid Accepting Aid Once you have been awarded aid: Review the aid offer ( Accept your award online Select a lender and complete and return a promissory note for any loan you accept Notify Financial Aid if you receive additional educational assistance

18 Financial Aid Disbursement of Aid Financial aid is disbursed at the start of each term Disbursed to your PSU student account beginning as early as ten days before the first day of each term Any remaining aid after your PSU charges have been paid will be forwarded to you through Higher One Activate your disbursement option attached to your Higher One I.D. card and select how you want to receive your funds: As a paper check mailed to you As a Direct Deposit to your private bank account As a balance transferred to your Higher One account For more info visit:

19 Financial Aid - Grades Students who receive only the following negative grades may be required to repay a portion of their financial aid: X M NP F W no basis for a grade missing grade not passed failed withdrew If you receive only negative grades you will be required to provide proof of attendance If you do not respond or cannot document attendance for at least 60% of the term, you will be required to repay a portion of your federal financial aid Repayment of these charges follows the terms and conditions of the PSU Revolving Charge Account Plan, available at the Cashier or Accounts Receivable
