2 The impact of instrumentation and measurements on human daily activities is always positively important as well as in nanotechnology issues. Nanoscale is not only a geometric problem but it is, especially, a process of reaching difficult objectives with compared to other ways. In any nanotechnology process, from designing up to testing, via fabrication, characterization, by means of measurements and/or specific instrumentation, is a critical aspect. The workshop intends to offer a forum for discussions and exchanges for different participants. This important event will be celebrated at the Conference center located at Ecotekne campus that is an important facility of the University of Salento. Prospective authors are kindly invited to submit their latest findings and advanced researches for regular sessions and/or special ones. The institutional organizers are the University of Salento, the Technical University of Chemnitz and the National Council of Research CNR-IFC that host groups working in nanotechnology area. The forum is a joint technical spinoff of IEEE Instrumentation Measurement Society TC34 with a specific technical committee of IEEE Nanotechnology Council. The city of Lecce offers an ideal milieu for recalling researchers, scientists and practitioners in the spirit of new challenges. The city of Lecce is considered the Florence of the south of Italy. The city historical area still breathes the ancient and magnificent culture that fascinated many people from old civilization up today. Within the Salento territory, it is a junction and mosaic of diverse and extraordinary sense of life including material and immaterial heritages from Romans, Greeks, Messapians, Albanians, Ottomans Byzantines, Normans, Swabians. All contributions will be peer reviewed on the basis of a full length manuscript and acceptance will be based on quality, originality and relevance. Accepted papers will be published in the workshop proceedings and a post workshop publication, on international reputed journals, is foreseen. 5 Paper Submission Prospective authors are invited to submit the full manuscript (4 to 5 pages including references) of their technical paper, for oral or poster presentation. Papers in pdf format may be uploaded via the web using The template files, to be used for all paper submissions, are available on IEEE website, using A4 doc file and latex format: Final manuscripts are limited to five (5) A4 size pages. They will be uploaded along with a copyright form. In submitting a paper, the authors agree that, upon acceptance, they will prepare the final manuscript in time for inclusion in the published proceedings and will present the paper at the workshop. The final manuscript will not be published without advance registration. All presented papers will be submitted for publication to IEEE Xplorer. Important dates February 27 th, 2015, deadline for full manuscript (4 to 5 pages including references) March 20 th, 2015, notification of acceptance/rejection April 10 th, 2015, final submission April May 10 th, 2015, early payment and registration deadline 10 th, 2015, last payment and registration term for inclusion in Workshop proceedings Special Sessions The organizers solicit special session proposals. The special sessions are intended to stimulate indepth discussions in special and specific areas which are coherent with the workshop themes. The session organizers will supervise the review process for their session papers. The workshop proceedings will include all papers from the special sessions. Post-publications Expanded contributions, of papers presented in the workshop, are eligible for post-publication in reputed international journals, namely IEEE Transactions on Nanotechnology.
