Luis Alfonso Dau is an Assistant Professor of International Business and strategy at the D Amore- McKim School of Business at Northeastern University in Boston. He teaches courses in international management and his research interests are on the strategic response of emerging market firms to institutional processes and changes such as regulatory reforms. His research has appeared in the top academic journals in the field. Professor Dau received his MBA from the joint ITESM-Thunderbird program and his Ph.D. in International Business/Strategy from the University of South Carolina, Moore School of Business. Prior to his Ph.D. studies Professor Dau had management experience and was a successful entrepreneur in Guadalajara, Mexico. Jonathan Doh holds the Rammrath Chair in International Business, serves as Faculty Director for the Center for Global Leadership, and is Professor of Management at Villanova School of Business. He is author or co-author of more than 70 refereed articles, 30 chapters, more than 80 conference papers, and 8 books. His most recent books are NGOs and Corporations: Conflict and Collaboration (with Michael Yaziji, Cambridge University Press) and International Management: Culture, Strategy, and Behavior (with Fred Luthans, McGraw-Hill Irwin, 9th edition). He is associate, senior or consulting editor of multiple journals and is incoming editor-in-chief of Journal of World Business. Sumit K. Kundu is a Professor and the James K. Batten Eminent Scholar Chair in International Business in the College of Business Administration at Florida International University. His research interests focus on emerging market multinationals, multinationality & performance, international entrepreneurship, internationalization of service industries, and offshoring and outsourcing. He has published several articles in journals, namely, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management Studies, Management International Review, Journal of World Business, Journal of International Management, Journal of International Marketing, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of International Management, The Leadership Quarterly, R&D Management Journal of Small Business Economics, and Service Industries Journal 3

4 Santiago Mingo is an Assistant Professor at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez s School of Business in Santiago de Chile. He holds a Doctor of Business Administration degree from Harvard University. Santiago s research explores the interactions among entrepreneurial activity, corporate strategy, and the surrounding institutional and business environment. Most of his work is focused on emerging economies. Lately, he has been studying the impact of institutions and networks on private equity investments in emerging markets. Santiago has published in top management journals such as Management Science, Administrative Science Quarterly, Journal of Management, and Industrial and Corporate Change, and has presented his research in numerous conferences and universities around the United States and Europe. James Robins is University Professor of Business Policy at Vienna University of Economics and Business. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of Long Range Planning and is a former Associate Editor of Global Strategy Journal. Jim Robins s career has spanned three continents. He has been on the faculty at Stanford and the University of California in the United States, HKUST and City University in Hong Kong, served as Associate Dean for Faculty at Singapore Management University, and now is at the WU Wien. His work has been published in journals including the Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Administrative Science Quarterly, and Organization Studies. Stephen Tallman is the E. Claiborne Robins Distinguished Professor of Business at the University of Richmond. He is a graduate of the US Military Academy and holds a PhD in international business and strategic management from UCLA. He is Co-Editor of Global Strategy Journal and a Fellow of the AIB. He has been the Chair of the International Management Division of the Academy of Management, the founding co-chair of the Global Strategy Interest Group of the SMS and an associate editor of SMJ. His research interests include global strategic management, geographical clusters, organizational learning, and alliance strategies. Mary Ann Von Glinow is the Knight Ridder Eminent Scholar Chair in International Management and Director of the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) at Florida International University, since She was the President of the Academy of International Business Previously on the Marshall School faculty of the University of Southern California, she has an MBA and Ph. D in Management Science from The Ohio State University. Dr. Von Glinow was the President of the Academy of Management, the world s largest association of academicians in management and is a Fellow of the Academy of Management, Academy of International Business, and the Pan Pacific Business Association. She sits on twelve editorial review boards and numerous international panels. Dr. Von Glinow has authored over 100 journal articles and fourteen books. Mary Ann consults to a number of domestic and multinational enterprises, and serves as a mayoral appointee to the Shanghai Institute of Human Resources in China. Her clients have included Asia Development Bank, American Express, Diageo, G.E., Burger King, Pillsbury, Westinghouse, and Joe s Stone Crabs, to name a few. She is on the Board of AIB, Friends of Bay Oaks, Pan-Pacific Business Association and Animal Alliance in Los 4

Alvaro Cuervo-Cazurra is an Associate Professor of International Business and Strategy at Northeastern University in the United States. He studies the internationalization of companies, with a special interest in emerging market multinationals. He also analyzes governance issues, with a special interest in corruption in international business. He is the reviewing editor of Journal of International Business Studies and serves on the Executive Committee of the International Management Division at the Academy of Management. He was awarded a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and another from the University of Salamanca. Jorge Carneiro is Assistant Professor of Strategy and International Business at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He obtained his PhD in Business Administration from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Editor-in-Chief of the Brazilian Administration Review. Member of the Scientific Committee of the Strategy Division of the Brazilian Academy of Management (ANPAD), member of the Board of the European International Business Academy (EIBA) and member of the Executive Committee of the Business Association of Latin American Studies (BALAS). William Newburry is an Associate Professor at Florida International University. His research interests focus on how multinational corporations manage and relate to both subsidiaries and employees. Wlamir Xavier is Assistant Professor of Management at UNISUL University, and post doc Fellow at Fundação Getulio Vargas, both in Brazil. Gustavo Javier Canavire Bacarreza is the Director for the Center for Research on Economics and Finance at the School of Economics and Finance in Universidad EAFIT in Medellin, Colombia. Previously he was a Research Associate at the International Center for Public Policy in the Department of Economics at Georgia State University in Atlanta. He received a PhD in Economics and a MA in Economics from Georgia State University, and got an Advanced Studies Degree from the Kiel Institute for World Economics at Kiel University in Germany. Prior to this he was awarded a degree in Licenciatura from the Universidad Catolica Boliviana. His main research interests are development, poverty and inequality, labor markets public finance and applied econometrics. She holds a PhD in Globalization and Corporate Social Responsibility (International Business) from the National University of Ireland, Galway. She did postdoctoral research on social responsibilities of higher education at the Community Knowledge Initiative (CKI) in NUI Galway. Prior to her position in Colombia, she worked as a researcher in various organizations such as the Centre for Innovation and Structural Change (CISC), and the Irish Chambers of Commerce. Leonardo iberman, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the Business Faculty at Universidad de los Andes in Santiago, Chile. Leonardo has previously worked at the School of Management at Queensland University of Technology and as the Director of the International Graduate Program at Stockholm School of Economics in Sweden. Before pursuing an academic career, Leonardo was the HR Director of two multinational companies and instructor of executive management courses in Santiago Chile. Dr. Liberman has published in top tier, peer reviewed international journals and books, both as the sole author and together with coauthors from several countries. Leonardo was the founding Chapter Chair of AIB-LAT between 2007 and Moacir de Miranda Oliveira Junior is an Associate Professor and Vice Head at the Business Administration Department of the University of Sao Paulo - USP. He was a Visiting Researcher at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School. His current research interests are related to Brazilian Multinationals and Innovation in Latin America. He has published in several international refereed journals and in international books. He is a member of the Editorial Review Board - International Journal of Emerging Markets and member of the Scientific Committee of AIB-LAT, the Latin American Chapter of the Academy of International Business. He was a member of the Consejo Científico de ALTEC XV Congreso de Gestión de Latino-Iberoamericana de Tecnología. Rodrigo Bandeira-de-Mello is Associate Professor of Strategy and Coordinator of the International Business Research Forum at Getulio Vargas Foundation in São Paulo, Brazil (FGV-EAESP). He is also currently Visiting Professor at Université Paris Dauphine. He was visiting scholar at The Wharton School in the United States His research interests include political-based competitive advantages in emerging economies, and the genesis, development and internationalization of business groups. Rodrigo serves as Director of International Relations of the Brazilian Academy of Management (ANPAD) for Alvaro Cuervo-Cazurra is an Associate Professor of International Business and Strategy at Northeastern University in the United States. He studies the internationalization of companies, with a special interest in emerging market multinationals. He also analyzes governance issues, with a special interest in corruption in international business. He is the reviewing editor of Journal of International Business Studies and serves on the Executive Committee of the International Management Division at the Academy of Management. He was awarded a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and another from the University of Salamanca. Maria-Alejandra Gonzalez-Perez is Full Professor of Management and former Director of the International Studies Research Group ( ), and previous Head of the Department of International Business ( ) at Universidad EAFIT (Colombia). Professor Gonzalez-Perez is also the coordinator of the Colombian universities in the virtual institute of the United Nations Conference for Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Distinguished Fellow of the Association of Certified Commercial Diplomats; Editor-in-Chief of the business journal AD-minister. She holds a PhD in Globalization and Corporate Social Responsibility (International Business) from the National University of Ireland, Galway. She did postdoctoral research on social responsibilities of 16

17 higher education at the Community Knowledge Initiative (CKI) in NUI Galway. Prior to her position in Colombia, she worked as a researcher in various organizations such as the Centre for Innovation and Structural Change (CISC), and the Irish Chambers of Commerce. Miguel Olivas-Luján is a Professor in the Management, Marketing and Human Resources Management Department at Clarion U. of Pennsylvania. He has also worked at Tecnológico de Monterrey (Mexico) and the U. of Pittsburgh (USA) and offered short courses, seminars and talks in at least twenty other countries in four continents. His research interests include: Diversity, Leadership, Decision Making, Organizational and National Culture, Human Resource Management, Information Technologies, Business Ethics, and the interrelations among these areas. Dr. Olivas serves as Series Editor (along with Dr. T. Bondarouk, U. of Twente in The Netherlands) for the scholarly books Advanced Series in Management (Emerald Group Publishing, UK). He has published scientific articles, scholarly book chapters and encyclopedic entries; provided training and advice for various for-profit and non-profit organizations, and served on various editorial boards, including the Journal of Managerial Psychology. Ronaldo Parente is Associate professor at Florida International University. Research interests include global strategy, emerging economies, outsourcing, strategic modularization, global supply chain management, and knowledge management. He has published in leading journals such as Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS), Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science (JAMS), Journal of Management Studies (JMS), Journal of International Management (JIM). He serves in the ERB of the Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS), the Thunderbird International Business Review (TIBR), the Global Strategy Journal (GSJ) and the Journal of International Management (JIM). He is a board member at the European Academy of International Business (EIBA). Wlamir Xavier is Assistant Professor of Management at UNISUL University, and post doc Fellow at Fundação Getulio Vargas, both in Brazil.
