3 Important Safeguards Read all instructions before using ExtendMagic. Keep away from water to prevent the risk of electric shock or bodily injury. Safeguards Unplug ExtendMagic when not in use. As with most electrical appliances, electrical parts of ExtendMagic are electrically live even when the switch is off. Even after the use, heat pads of ExtendMagic-Grip and ExtendMagic-Tip may remain hot. Make sure the heat pads are cooled off. Use the same power adaptor for both ExtendMagic-Grip and ExtendMagic-Tip. Disconnect ExtendMagic from the power adaptor before cleaning. After use, remove the residue on the heat pads. Disconnect ExtendMagic from the power adaptor when replacing the tape cartridge. Use the ExtendMagic Tape Cartridge exclusively. Disorder in temperature control and machine malfunction may occur. Do not use ExtendMagic if it seems to be malfunctioning. 6 Unique Features 1. ExtendMagic makes a Single Thread Extension. Extended spot is 0.1 mm thicker. See inside the circle. 7 Control Buttons: ExtendMagic- Grip ExtendMagic-Grip There are Three Buttons and a Trigger. Three Buttons Connect Power Adapter ExtendMagic-Grip is electrically live. Trigger Push Power Button Red Indicator is lit. Heat Pads are heated. Allow two-three minutes to reach the optimal temperature. Pull the Trigger Green Indicator is lit while ExtendMagic in in action. Push Power Button off after All Extension is made. Red Indicator is off Wait ten minutes to cool off. Operating Instructions Auto Manual Button Automatic routine is on when indicator is lit. In Automatic routine, pull the trigger once. The Grip is closed for three seconds and it opens automatically. Push Auto Button. Manual routine is on when indicator light is off. In manual routine, pull the trigger. The Grip is remain closed. Pull the trigger again to open the Grip 6

8 Control Buttons: ExtendMagic- Grip (continued) Trigger Two kinds of Trigger operation. Auto Mode - Auto Light is on Trigger - Pull the trigger once and the grip closes for extension and opens after three seconds. Manual Mode - Auto Light is off - Pull the trigger once and the grip closes for extension. - Pull the trigger again to open the grip. Note : Make sure the grips are in open position before/ after extension. Tape On- Off Button Tape-Feed routine is on when Tape Indicator is lit. In Tape- Feed routine, inch tape (7mm) will be fed to Heat Pad automatically after each extension is made. Push Tape Button Off Indicator light is off. Tape will not be fed after extension. Push Tape On-Off Button to change the phase. Note : Tape-Off routine is used. 1. When the strand is thin ( less than 30 hair/strand). You may make two~three thin extensions without tape-feed. 2. When removing extension. 7

9 Control Button: ExtendMagic - Tip Step 1. Plug in the Power Adaptor Step 2. Push Button upward. Red Light is on. Allow two-three minutes to heat up the pad. Warning EXtendMagic - Tip remains hot even after the switch is turned-off and the power adaptor in pulled off. Allow at least Five minutes to cool off before storing. 8

10 Making Hair Extension Operating Instructions Note : Use ExtendMagic - Grip. If No. of Strands to be extended : Less than 100 Thickness of strand : Hair/Strand Step 1. Set up Control Button Power on, Tape on Step 2. Spread the strand of hair to be extended evenly and widely. Locate the strand between two heat pads of ExtendMagic-Grip. Step 3. Select Auto Manual Mode depending on the No. of hair/strand Auto on If No. of Hair/Strand is Auto - off If No. of Hair/Strand is

11 Making Hair Extension (continued) Step 4. Depending on Auto-Manual mode, pull the trigger as follows. Note In Auto mode Pull the trigger. The grip is closed for extension. It opens after three seconds. While the grip is closed, move the strand back and forth for a better coating of adhesive. The grip must be in Open Position for next extension. 10

12 Making Hair Extension (continued) Note In Manual mode - Pull the trigger. Wait 3~5 seconds depending on the strand size. While the grip is closed, move the strand back and forth for a better coating of adhesive. Pull the trigger again. The grip is open for next extension. 11

13 Making Hair Extension (continued) Step 5. Pick human hair vertically. Optimal number of human hair is 1/5~1/3 of the hair to be extended. Step 6. Put the hair to be extended on your index finger. Overlay the human hair in the middle of the strand. Step 7. Locate the overlapped spot between two heat pads. Step 8. After the grip is open, apply finishing by rolling the extended spot with two fingers. The extended spot is firmly wrapped in a circular form. 12

14 Note It usually takes less than two hours for 300-strand extension. Further time saving is possible if preparation is made prior to extension. Note Preparing Thin-Micro Extension Use ExtendMagic-Grip. Determine Strand thickness, No. of Strands to be extended. Preparation for Thin Extension Strand Thickness 10~30 hair/strand. No. of strands to be extended 100~300. Preparation for Micro Extension Strand Thickness - 5~10 hair/strand. No. of strands to be extended - 300~500. 15 Preparing Thin-Micro Extension (continued) Step 1. Set up Control Buttons Power-On Auto-On Tape-On Step 2. Trim the end of hair to be extended. Step 3. Place the strand at the center of the heat pad. Step 4. Pull the trigger. Step 5. Completed form of Pre-coated Strand. 14

16 Making Thin-Micro Extension Note : Use ExtendMagic - Grip for Pre-Coating Use ExtendMagic - Tip for Thin-Micro Extension Step 1. Arrange Pre-coated strands. Step 2. Pick human hair vertically. Optimal number of human hair is 1/5~1/3 of the number of hair to be extended. Step 3. Put the pre-coated strand on your index finger. Overlay the human hair in the middle of the strand. Step 4. Wrap around the human hair with the pre-coated hair strand. 15

17 Making Thin-Micro Extension (continued) Step 5. Using ExtendMagic-Tip, move the tip back and forth over the pre-coated part. Move slowly to ensure firm Extension. Step 6. You may use ExtendMagic-Grip again to ensure extra strong Extension. Step 7. Apply finishing by rolling the extended spot with two fingers. 16

18 Making Circular Hair-Loss Treatment Step 1. Use Pre-coated Hair Strand. Select at least three hairs from triangular spot. Using ExtendMagic-Tip, start extension from the outside circle. Step 2. Place the pre-coated strand on your index finger. Overay the hair in the middle of strand. Step 3. Wrap around the human hair with the pre-coated strand Step 4. Using ExtendMagic-Tip, apply heat on the pre-coated strand Step 5. Continue extension until the bald part is completely disappeared. 17

20 Removing Extension Note : Extended hair can be removed easily with ExtendMagic-Grip. Step 1. Set up buttons Auto - Off ( Manual ) Tape - Off ( No Tape Feed ) Step 2. Place the extended spot Between the heat pads. Step 3. Pull the trigger to close the grip. Slowly pull the extended hair towards your body. Step 4. Use acetone or baby oil to remove the residue on the hair. Shampoo thoroughly. Note : You may use ExtendMagic-Tip to remove Thin-Micro Extension. 19

21 Unloading Tape Cartridge Step 1. Push the protruded part on both sides. Step 2. Lift the Cover. Step 3. Press Tape Guides on both sides to unlock the Cartridge. 20

23 Loading Tape Cartridge (continued) Step 1. Make sure the Tape Guides on both sides are open. Step 2. Pull the Tapes toward the Grip. Step 3. Place the Tape Cartridge at the four Gear Posts( ). Press down the Tape Cartridge slowly. Step 4. Place the Tape Outside() of the Tape Guide Step 5. Push both Tape Guides inward. ( ) Click!! Click!! Press both heads of the Tape Guide until it makes click sound. 22

24 Loading Tape Cartridge (continued) Step 6. Tighten both tapes by turning the Tape posts. Step 7. Close the magnet lids. Step 8. Close the Cover 23

25 Maintenance Hair Sanitation Shampooing For extended hair, it is essential to shampoo scalp area with care. Shampoo in stand-up posture without bending head. Apply shampoo on scalp and massage scalp. Rinse thoroughly after shampoo. Hair Drying You may use hair dryer. Maintenance Use Cold Warm dry. 24

26 Maintenance Cleaning The Grip Cleaning heat pad After use, remove the adhesive residue on both heat pads. Cleaning main body Wipe the machine body with a soft cloth dampened with mild soapy water. Dry Wipe the body with dry cloth. Storing Store the cleansed ExtendMagic in the box Caution : Do not clean the machine body under running water or submersion. 25

27 Limited warranty & Service HiBraid Inc. warrants this product to the original purchaser against defects in material and workmanship for a period of ONE year from the date of purchase. HiBraid will, at its option, repair and replace the defective product and/or parts at no cost to the owner during the warranty period. The warranty will not apply if the unit has been subject to accident, misuse, abuse, disassembly, alteration, or operation contrary to the instructions contained in this manual. Also the warranty will not apply to consumable parts like tape cartridge. To obtain warranty service, proof of purchase in the form of retailer s bill of sale or invoice ( copy ) must be presented as evidence that the unit is within the warranty period. The product must be packaged either in its original package or in such a way as to reasonably protect the unit from shipping damage. Enclose also a warranty and service card ( next page ) properly filled out with the description of the problem. Send the product freight paid or deliver to the distributor ( address slip included ).
