The Concerto Business Performance software tool works in conjunction with the Concerto project management solution is one of the four core Concerto solutions for project management, business performance, asset management and facilities management. These solutions can be employed either independently or as a single integrated solution linking to a single, shared database. The Concerto business performance solution provides a full set of tools to plan out business goals, set objectives, set KPI s and associate risks to the business plan. Improve business strategy and performance by enabling users to seamlessly interlink business plans with day-to-day projects. Take advantage of automated reports, and integrated financial management functionality. All the modules within the Concerto suite contain powerful functionality that can be tailored to suit each individual organisation s requirements. Concerto can be integrated with existing systems such as finance software to provide an overall holistic overview of an organisation s projects and spend, allowing performance managers to manage their business plans successfully. The Concerto suite is entirely web based and can be accessed via smart phone and other hand held devices as well as your desktop with a customisable work flow and dashboard. Concerto offers both a fully hosted and an in-house secure and fully supported hosting solution depending on your organizational requirements. As a result of working with Concerto, public sector organisations have demonstrated that they are able to do more with less, helping to protect front-line services in line with government directives.

2 THE ISSUES Many organisations have incomplete, duplicated or out of date information on their projects due to reliance on separate, non-electronic records. This renders it almost impossible to obtain an accurate, holistic view of their often large and diverse project portfolio. This lack of good quality data will potentially compromise the efficiency and performance of any project or programme and without one central, collaborative point for knowledge and information it is impossible to ensure everyone is working towards the same goals. 5 01.5 CASE STUDY PORTSMOUTH PUBLIC HEALTH Portsmouth City Council s Public Health plan involves many new dynamic projects and programmes spread across the city, which are being closely monitored to ensure long-term success. To support this process, Portsmouth procured and implemented the Concerto integrated Performance and Project Management solution to underpin the performance management of their public health plan. The Portsmouth Public Health business plan is fully integrated into the system. This allows performance management views at both programme and project level allowing an overall view of high level PPI s and also to drill down to view individual projects. The plan can be viewed from the over all mission statement, vision statement and values down to individual programmes and projects and each individual indicators to track progress and detect issues. The National Public Health standards are also integrated into Concerto Business Performance, which allows Portsmouth to track themselves against these standards and gain a 360 degree view of how they are performing against health outcome targets. This overview means that Public Health Portsmouth can closely monitor individual initiatives and engage fully with the private sector organisations commissioned to deliver these services

6 02 SERVICE DEFINITION BACKGROUND Concerto is a public sector specialist partner, ISO and ISO accredited. Our years of experience and best practice provides public sector organisations with valuable input to help to achieve an even better result more quickly. The Concerto asset management suite was launched in 2004 by Steve De Rycke (Technical Director) and Kevan Davey (Managing Director) to meet requirements of advancing technology and changes and challenges within public sector property asset management. It is now employed across the UK in over 50 Local Authorities along with public and private sector clients. Concerto solutions are developed alongside public sector clients to ensure we continually need the government changing requirements. The software can be adapted easily and specific modules can be added or removed to suit specific asset-related applications and requirements of many different types of organisations.

11 03.1 SECURITY & ACCESS Concerto has extensive experience in maintaining the confidentiality of client data at all stages of its life, from its creation or receipt through processing and storage to deletion or return. The underlying ethos of confidentiality and protection is part of the company culture and is extended to cover all client data, whether protectively marked or not. Concerto s obligations under the Data Protection Act are taken seriously, this is demonstrated through the company s Business Management System, accredited to ISO Concerto offers both an in-house and fully hosted cloud based solution. The hosted solution is highly secure and fully supported. Other business areas who subsequently wish to use the project management solution will be offered an existing user discount.
