2 CAREGIVERS, YOU ARE NOT ALONE United Way Caregivers Coalition is here to help. Our mission is to improve the lives of caregivers by promoting knowledge of and action around caregiving issues. We work to ensure that people who are caregivers identify themselves as such and have access to the resources, services, education, and support to sustain them in their role. United Way Caregivers Coalition is unique in that it works on behalf of caregivers across the lifespan. A parent caring for a child with a disability shares many of the same caregiving issues as a spouse caring for an aging partner with Alzheimer s. Open to all, the Coalition s membership includes caregivers, nonprofit and for-profit service providers, government agencies, faith-based groups, corporations, and community members. Our monthly meetings are open to anyone interested in caregiving issues. All are welcome! 3 WELCOME Dear Friends: Caregivers provide a valuable service to their loved ones and to our community, yet they are often providing care without the support and resources they need. United Way of Northern New Jersey Caregivers Coalition was founded in 2005 to improve the lives of Morris County caregivers, and to help provide better access to the resources, services, education, and support caregivers need to sustain them in their role. Today, this working Coalition has grown to more than 780 members, representing non-profits, for-profits, government, corporations, faith-based groups and the community at large. The membership includes 470 caregivers, the majority of whom participate on an advisory panel, which helps direct the work of the Coalition. Coalition members are a dynamic and passionate group of people who care about caregivers, and who have worked hard over the past few years to provide an effective array of support for those who do so much caring for others. United Way Caregivers Coalition is honored to present this Member Directory, and hope that you will find it a valuable resource for you and others you may know. Sincerely, John Franklin Stephanie Howland CEO United Way of Northern New Jersey United Way Caregivers Coalition Coordinator United Way of Northern New Jersey IMPORTANT NOTE The businesses and organizations listed here are not under any jurisdiction or operational control of the United Way Caregivers Coalition or United Way of Northern New Jersey, and this Member Directory is not an accreditation, endorsement, or in any way an indicator of quality of any of the entrants listed herein. It is simply the United Way Caregivers Coalition s way of saying these Coalition members support our mission of improving the lives of caregivers. Our work is dedicated to providing information, education and support to caregivers. We feel it is important to share with caregivers those organizations that have made a commitment to working toward our mission.
