3 Executive Education Programs Summary The Center for Leadership Formation (CLF) is the home of the executive programs offered by Seattle University s Albers School of Business and Economics. All programs begin with the Executive Leadership Certificate Program, offering business and healthcare professionals a rare opportunity to connect with one another. Our unique leadership foundation, combined with the business core and cross-industry interaction, provides an outstanding blend of information, connection and transformation. Certificate Program Executive Leadership Certificate Program (ELP)* An 8-month, deep dive into leadership for those in the business, healthcare and life sciences sectors. Participants reflect on who they are, how they are perceived and who they want to be as leaders. The program includes a residential retreat, advanced experiential learning, team projects, outreach activities and executive coaching. The outcome is a deeper knowledge of leadership, greater confidence in oneself and a keen awareness of the ethics and values that guide executive decisions. Participants leave with a stronger appreciation of the needs of our global commons and a sense of how their actions as leaders can effect positive change. * This program is unique to Seattle University. As a stand-alone graduate certificate, the ELP is also well suited for individuals who already hold an MBA or other graduate degree and are looking to enhance their leadership skills. The certificate is also suitable for those who may not be able to pursue a graduate degree at this time. DEGREE PROGRAMS Both our LEMBA and HLEMBA programs provide comprehensive business content, including accounting, finance, economics and marketing, taught for the benefit of the strategic decision maker. Each program begins with the Executive Leadership Certificate Program (ELP). Leadership Executive MBA (LEMBA) A 20-month program focusing on core business expertise, executive leadership and social responsibility for mid- to senior-level managers and directors in the business community. Following the ELP, the next three quarters focus on advanced business education, including the principles, tools and practices required of an effective leader. The final capstone quarter synthesizes the leadership and core business curriculum, challenging participants to explore and elevate their positions of social responsibility, as well as the influence they can have in their professional and personal lives. Health Leadership Executive MBA (HLEMBA) A 20-month program offering mid- to senior- level health sector professionals and clinicians the opportunity to earn a master s degree emphasizing leadership in business. The HLEMBA program features 17 credits specific to the healthcare and life sciences sector, with the opportunity to customize assignments to that sector in an additional 7 courses. Following the ELP, the next three quarters focus on business practices within the health industry (e.g., lean processes, quality improvement, specialized accounting, economic policy and marketing). The final quarter features curriculum and individual projects that challenge participants to explore and elevate their positions of social responsibility in their professional and personal lives. This class focused on: where are you on your leadership journey, what brought you to the current point, what are some of the issues, maybe blind spots, and where do you think you can go?
