At this stage we are pleased to dialogue with organizations that manage projects in tourism and cultural sectors, in order to include them in our testing phase, with training organizations in order to tailor final products for their needs. Zusammenfassung: PM4ESD partnership is a multiplayer partnership, composing 8 partners representing five different countries. The consortium includes: one Municipality (Frigento), two Smes (QRP MMI, JLag), two Chambers of Commerce (Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce (which is also not for profit), Istanbul Chamber of Commerce), one University (University of Lodz), two non profit training organizations (Scuola Camigliati and Auxilum). The partnership has chosen Prince2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments) as it is a de facto standard used extensively by the UK Government and is widely recognised and used in the private sector, both in the UK and internationally. The partnership will innovate the methodology adapting Prince2 to new context, specific sectors and target groups. The key word in the innovation process is: sustainability. The strategic objectives of PM4ESD are: A) to adapt and transfer the existing PRINCE2 project management methodology in two ways: 1) To adapt Prince2 and create a tailored project management methodology in tourism and cultural sectors; 2)To test, to validate and transfer the methodology within European Regions (Italy, Poland, Austria) and one Associated Country (Turkey). B)To support improvements in quality in vocational education and training systems, institutions and practices involved in tourism and cultural sectors. 3 Projektinformationen Produktinformation: Lehrmaterial The main deliverables will be: - To create and publish a Manual Project Management for European Sustainable Development. Based on Prince - To develop training products (Foundation and Practitioner) based on Prince2 - To develop a European Dictionary on sustainable project management - To develop a prototype of an e-learning PM4ESD application with a friendly users interface - To develop a PM4ESD transferring Tool KIT The results will be directly linked to the improvement of vocational education and training systems. Improving the quality of education and training is a common pursuit of providers and practitioners of education and training in all countries involved in the partnership. The final products will be answerable to the needs of VET systems. Sustainability is a key topic in European policies, and it has become a key word which characterizes all economic sectors and social issues as well. In the tourism and cultural sector, to plan with a sustainable approach is a necessity and the National Vet systems should provide all the skills and knowledge necessary. PM4ESD will provide to the learners community technical skills; to the Vet Systems a training methodology and innovative products. Projektwebseite: 3

12 Veranstaltungen Sustainable tourism from vision to practice Datum Beschreibung The 30th of September the methodology will be launched during a public conference organized in Portici at Villa Savonarola. Policy makers, academics and stakeholders will discuss about Governance and Project Management as key factors for sustainable tourism. PM4ESD is based on PRINCE2 (Projects IN Controlled Environments), a structured method for effective project management widely recognised and used in the public and private sectors. The PM4ESD Manual will be available in English, Italian, German, Polish and Turkish; it includes forewords of Carlo Fidanza, Member of the European Parliament Rapporteur for the European Parliament on the new political framework for tourism in Europe and Christiane Dabdoub Nasser, Team Leader for the Euromed Heritage Programme. The main purposes were: To discuss review and adaptation of the manual both for printing&translation and introduction to the PM4ESD partners geo-political context To update on dissemination and exploitation activities To plan next activities, final evaluation and next meeting organisation Presentation of PM4ESD made by Silvia Barbone at the European Parliament during the meeting with the MEP Andrea Cozzolino - Budget Committee, Luigi Famiglietti, a Professor from the University of Salerno, and a group of almost 20 students from Frigento. This has been a useful and productive meeting with a positive interaction between participants, during which Silvia Barbone had the chance to introduce PM4ESD to members of the education sector.
