1 EDUCATIONAL APPROVAL BOARD ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIONS REPORT September 6 through December 3, 2013 This report describes the activities that EAB staff performed in response to the board s oversight role under s.38.50, Wis. Stats. SCHOOL ACTIONS A. New School Approval: Bethel University (Online), St. Paul, MN Bethel has been a leader and model in Christian higher education since 1871, and is one of the largest private liberal arts universities in Minnesota. Based in St. Paul, MN, with additional locations in San Diego and the East Coast, Bethel offers rigorous bachelor s and advanced degrees in nearly 100 fields. Des Moines University (Online), Des Moines, IA The University was founded in 1898 and is one of the nation's 20 largest institutions among both osteopathic and allopathic medical schools. Its three colleges' nine graduate degree programs offer rigorous, real-world and inter-professional education in a collaborative campus environment. Olive Tree Yoga Foundation, Madison, WI Olive Tree's teacher training program focuses on helping the individual bring his/her authentic voice and life experience to yoga teaching and community leadership. River Flow Yoga, Wausau, WI River Flow is committed to training teachers who can work with all ages and can adapt to a variety of individuals, groups, and settings. The River Flow program provides a concentration in yoga teachings which are most important for yoga teachers seeking employment in a community setting. Core program teachings include: Viniyoga teaching methodology, biometrics of Viniyoga asana, introduction to Pranayama, introduction to meditation and chanting, Yoga philosophy, and select teaching from Yoga Sutra-s of Patanjali. Simmons College (Online), Boston, MA Simmons hands-on curriculum integrates intellectual leadership, career preparation, and community service since all three approaches are necessary for success. All program courses and clinical experiences are preplanned and organized systematically to meet student needs in an online format.
