8 Advanced Exchange Service The standard manufacture s warranty requires you to return a defective unit to one of their repair facilities. The downtime (average 15 business days) is costly and the return process is labor intensive (requiring you to package and ship the scanner). An Advanced Exchange Service contract provides you with unlimited telephone technical support. In the event that a scanner problem cannot be resolved over the telephone, the manufacturer will ship you a new or refurbished unit via overnight carrier to your location. You simply return the defective unit within 30 days of your receipt of the replacement scanner. The scanner manufacturer pays for the cost to ship you the replacement unit via overnight carrier and you pay the shipping charges to send the defective unit back. EchoONE Install Assist Sometimes installing new scanning hardware and software on an existing computer can be challenging and time consuming. EchoONE Install Assist is EchoStone s proven process for helping you quickly and easily install your new scanning hardware and software. Even if you successfully install your own SCAN Pack, we ll verify that all software and hardware is optimally configured and provide you with an online demonstration on how to get the most from your new scanning system. EchoONE Help Desk People and computers have bad days. EchoONE Help desk helps end-users get the most out of their scanning system and resolve problems as they arise. With EchoONE, your end-users can call us during normal business hours (excluding company published holidays) and get live technical support. If we determine that your problem is unrelated to the scanning system, we will provide your IT Support Provider with the information they need to resolve your issue. Additional Services In addition to the EchoONE Install Assist and EchoONE Help Desk services, EchoStone offers customers of (Your Company) onsite installation, configuration, and training services at a discounted rate of $ TBD / day plus travel expenses. Each year, EchoStone will provide you with an opportunity to extend your scanner support contracts, upgrade your scanning software, and extend your support services. Scanner and Multi-Function Device Consumables All document scanners have end-user replaceable parts that wear with use over time. EchoStone stocks all of these consumable parts in addition to the print cartridges for the Multi-Function Devices. 5
9 (blank) SCAN Packs EchoStone Sales Terms and Conditions 1. The pricing, terms, and conditions in this document are subject to change. EchoStone will provide the customer with a formal quotation with fixed pricing, terms, and conditions for a specified period at the time of inquiry. 2. Payment for all product and service items are due thirty (30) days from the date or order or date of receipt which ever occurs later. EchoStone accepts American Express, Visa, and MasterCard. Net payment terms are available upon request and approval. 3. The customer pays for all shipping and handling charges 4. EchoStone collects and remits North Carolina Sales Tax. The customer is responsible for paying all local and applicable sales tax outside of the state of North Carolina. 5. The customer may return any un-opened items within thirty (30) days of their receipt of any product item. Open product items may be returned within 30 days of Customer s receipt, but may be subject to a 15% restocking fee. 6. If the Customer elects NOT to purchase the EchoONE Install Assist and EchoONE Help Desk service packages, EchoStone reserves the right to bill the Customer for any and all services requested a rate of $100 / hour plus an applicable travel expenses. This excludes any services provided under the Advanced Exchange service contracts. 6
