7 Programmed for success All projects are thoroughly and realistically programmed to give our clients the best dates achievable, clearly showing the building sequence. We talk to each and every team member to ensure everyone makes a contribution and understands the project deliverables. Optimisation We are working closely with clients under our fix what you have first, initiative to help get the best out of existing facilities. We offer advice and implementation of measures that optimise the site s critical cooling ability. In most instances, this has achieved energy savings and better site utilisation. Confident cost control From conception to final account, our experienced cost planning team will manage your project to the highest standard. Skanska ensure that the site teams take early ownership of the project and are as much involved with its financial development as with its design development. Beyond Building Information Modelling Skanska has taken the next step beyond Building Information Modelling (BIM) by developing a computer-based construction, testing, commissioning and maintenance tracking tool. This system, which is already in use, employs Rapid Frequency Identification (RFID) tagging technology. When attached to the critical plant equipment, it allows access via a tablet computer to all of the project s documents and drawings, and charts all steps of the process, from test certificates through installation and commissioning to maintenance documentation. The information is then linked to the BIM application which provides a user-friendly interface. A smooth handover One of the most important factors in the success of a project is the completeness of the handover. We ensure that the client s design and facilities teams are involved throughout the testing of the installation and that full training is given on all systems prior to the site being handed over. Documentation will be issued in full, to the highest standard allowing the client to operate the facility from the first day. Moving forward Modular Skanska has jointly developed a market leading modular approach to data centres. This approach goes from the prefabrication of the mechanical and electrical systems within a standard building shell to the full construction and implementation of modular data centres.
