6 Workplace Workplace Getting started: Make adjustments to your workplace as needed Workplaces belong to everyone; you may not claim a particular place The workplace is yours for the time you use it The Clean Desk Policy, leave your desk and chair clean and empty and ready for the next user Secretaries do have a permanent workplace Please do not talk or use the telephone in the quiet zones!

8 Telephone Telephone Make sure you re reachable Watch your telephone: in case of theft you are responsible yourself Ask the Service Desk to make you a virtual 05-telephone number for your cell phone and only communicate this 05-number Need to phone a colleague? 9 Computer Computer You can log into the TU Delft Network from any desktop or laptop using your NetID and password All BK City workplaces are equipped with an electrical outlet If you leave your seat, make sure to lock your laptop (Ctrl+Alt+Del -> Lock computer) Laptops are easily stolen. Use an anti-theft cable, store them in a secure area, or take them with you Your laptop is your responsibility! Outside of BK City, you can still access your /files and print by logging into using your NetID and password If you have any questions, please contact the Service Desk (05)

10 Computer Stop-track-sticker So-called stop-track-stickers will be attached to your laptop. If your laptop has been stolen and your laptop did not have a stop-track-sticker, you are responsible yourself for the theft Does your laptop still miss a stop-track-sticker? Please contact the Service Point

11 Saving files Saving files Save your documents in the My Documents folder (on the H: \ drive). This is accessible from any computer. Backups are made regularly. For group data, use the group disk (the K: \ drive) There is enough space on the disk to accommodate all staff members. To increase your storage limit, or for other questions or concerns, please contact the Service Desk at (05)

12 Printers Printers You can print, scan and copy using the multifunctionals The names given to these multifunctionals indicate where they are located. The names usually start with the faculty abbreviation (BK) You can log into all multifunctionals connected to the network using your NetID and password or using your departmental code. Depart ments should decide for themselves which option they choose Save scanned documents on the H: \ drive or them to yourself You can log into the Web printing page at webprint.tudelft.nl If you have any questions, please contact the Service Desk (05)

13 Storage areas Storage areas Store your possessions and documents before leaving Try to digitize documents or archive them for optimal use Spare keys for the cupboards are available at the Service Desk Each department also has extra storage space for group storage Please note: static archives belong in the basement! Lockers are available for storing personal belongings. They can be accessed using your campus card If you have any questions, please contact the secretary of your department

19 Rooms Rooms There are different types of workplaces available such as: living rooms and meeting rooms, choose an area that suits the type of work you are doing Workbenches are working places for short use only The Secrateries of the departments can be found at the Direct support area s You can reserve meeting rooms through the Service Desk (05) Teaching rooms can be reserved through the Timetabling Department (reservering-bk@tudelft.nl)

20 Getting here Getting here By car: coming from the A3, take either the Delft/Pijnacker or the Delft Zuid/TU-wijk exit You can park in the Zuidplantsoen and BK City parking lots By bicycle: bicycles should be parked in the racks surrounding the building By bus: between Delft Central Station and the TU Delft campus the following busses stop in front of the Faculty of Architecture: Bus 40: stop Julianalaan Bus 69: stop Julianalaan Bus : stop Julianalaan Bus 60: stop Michiel de Ruijterweg Bus 6: stop Michiel de Ruijterweg Bus 80: stop Michiel de Ruijterweg Bus 8: stop Michiel de Ruijterweg Bus 8: stop Michiel de Ruijterweg See for up-to-date information

21 Access Days Monday Employees Free access for Employees to and students employees, and students Friday authorized by students and authorized by Campuscard guests Campuscard Your campus card allows you access to certain areas of the TU Delft campus Have your campus card with you at all times Access For questions on authorization contact the Secretary of your department (05) Access before 7 AM and after 6 PM is also possible at the security office at the main entrance At the West Entrance of BK City you always need your campus card

22 House rules Danger and annoyances Theft, fire or hazardous situations must be reported immediately by calling (Emergency) exits must be free of obstructions at all times If evacuation of the building is ordered, leave the building, follow instructions of the Emergency Personnel and assemble in the park alongside Zuidplantsoen Responsibility and theft You are responsible yourself for TU Delft telephones, laptops or other equipment Watch your personal belongings; you are responsible yourself for your personal belongings in BK City Huisregels

23 House rules Huisregels A clean and clear BK City Keep all the spaces in BK City clean and safe; don t leave your work place without cleaning it In studios, magnetic boards must be used for all presentations and to display pictures In employee rooms and public spaces, please only use magnetic boards to display posters Do not cause any form of nuisance to staff, visitors or students You are not allowed to smoke inside BK City Bicycles must be placed in the racks provided Cars must be parked in the designated parking areas No vehicles, including bicycles, skeelers, skateboards, etc., may be brought inside the building

24 Evacuation Respond to the alarm Follow instructions given by Emergency Response personnel Follow the signs to the emergency exits Evacuation plans are displayed in all work areas Do not use elevators Follow the evacuation meeting point signs Gather at the assembly point in the park near the Zuidplantsoen Evacuation
