I am also a Doctoral Candidate in the American Indian Studies program at the University of Arizona. I am an enrolled member of the Comanche Nation. As an educator, I have taught introductory indigenous issues, indigenous film, contemporary indigenous issues, museum studies, cultural preservation, art, law & governance and education, as well as introductory sociological issues, race and ethnicity, marriage and the family, and social problems. My research interests are varied and focus on health & wellness, educational pedagogy, social statistics, race and culture, social issues, and cultural preservation. Island Summer Program, June-August 2001 University of Hawai i at Hilo; Hilo, Hawaii Over the course of the summer I lived in Hilo, Hawaii, in order to study both cultural anthropology and marine science and was part of a large group of students from various regions of the world that explored Native Hawaiian culture by taking part in both guided & personal fieldtrips around the island.
