Created new education programs while seeking NSF grants and program funding. Responsible for reporting of education and outreach activities in written annual Buck Institute reports, program meetings and Trustee meetings. Served as the Institute s Officer for Postdoctoral Affairs. In collaboration with Institute Faculty and the CEO, took all steps necessary to create, implement, and secure WASC accreditation of a Buck Institute PhD degree program. Applied for licensure of the Institute s educational programs, when appropriate, from the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education; ensured regulatory compliance. Developed, administered, and managed summer internship programs for high school, undergraduate and graduate level students at the Institute. Worked closely with the HR Department, taking responsibility for the on-boarding of postdoctoral researchers, visiting students and summer interns, including assistance with locating suitable housing and transportation; ensures availability of a supportive network for students. Principal Investigator (PI) on the following National Science Foundation (NSF) proposals: Advanced Technical Education (ATE); Advancing Informal STEM Learning (AISL); Discovery Research K-12 (DRK-12); Innovative Technology Experiences for Students and Teachers (ITEST); Research Coordination Networks (RCN); Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU). Executive Director of Education, Team for Research in Ubiquitous Secure Technology (TRUST) Developed, implemented and administered educational initiatives that advanced TRUST s mission and encouraged interdisciplinary collaboration and inquiry at the nexus of technology and society. Responsible for all education and outreach projects, including: program design, budget, and program evaluation. Created new education and outreach programs while seeking NSF grants and program funding. 3 Interim Director of Engineering Student Services (ESS), University of California, Berkeley Supervised a professional staff of 10 Academic Advisor and 10 student mentors and tutors in the ESS Student Learning Center. Led the reorganization of three long-standing offices in the College: Undergraduate Student Affairs; Technical Communications; and the Center for Underrepresented Engineering Students (CUES) into one unit called ESS. Directed and administered all aspects of advising and career services, including program development, implementation, evaluation, and modification of all programs. Developed contemporary and professional programs to meet student needs. Promoted student success by implementing strategies which maximize student recruitment and retention. Implemented an online student survey tool for advisor review and assessment of advising services. Developed and coordinated student scholarships within the college and Multicultural Engineering Program (MEP) program. Prepared and submit required NSF grant applications and reports. Administered and supervised the PREP Pre-Engineering Program UC Berkeley College of Engineering programs.
