SET FORTH THE RAnONALE FOR THS PROPOSAL: The su bject matter for this course in Change Management is becoming a staple in many 1&0 programs both at the doctoral and master's level. The content reflects findings and results from research in the field over the past decade that provide evidence and strategies that enable organizations to adapt to a changing and evolving work environment. Change management is a process by which management consultants (psychologists and engineers) help organizations to manage changes brought about by changes in structure, mission, administrative and work procedures, and culture. Change management is a philosophy of managing change that embraces the notion that organization change can increase productivity and efficiency while at the same time enhance the quality of wo~k for employees. With a knowledge of theory and evidence-based practices, consultants are able to help management manage change effectively. Management consultants such as industrial and organizational psychologists find opportunities in both the private and public sectors to utilize their change management skills. This is a relatively new field that has emerged and developed over the past 4 years. t is a field that is well recognized in business and industry. Students in the 1&0 track, as well as those from other programs will benefit from this course. Summer
