3 Reclaiming Futures Juvenile Drug Court Loss of Funds Continued need for services specific to youth affected by substance abuse issues
4 Intake 14% of Youth are referred to the Juvenile Office for Substance use possession, or distribution. (This doesn t include numbers where substance was a secondary issue) Intake Conference held Screenings and Assessments take place. a. MAYSI - 2 b. Missouri Risk Assessment c. Missouri Needs Assessment Case Disposition is made with recommendation for services. a. If subject is in need of alcohol or drug follow up services and intervention, those recommendations can be made to coincide with probation services (formal or informal). Substance abuse assessment can be made immediately upon identifying that a substance abuse issue is present. b. A urinalysis test may be given at point of intake or anytime thereafter as deemed appropriate.

6 Informal Outcomes 17% of youth currently receiving informal services were referred for a drug related offense. Since January, 73% of youth served informally for drug related offenses have been release from our services with successful outcomes
7 Evening Reporting Center (ERC): Groups: PACT 360- Springfield Police Department Coping Skills Substance Abuse education Moral Reconation Therapy Guest Speakers Speaker s Bureau Conduct random urinalysis testing per DJO/Probation Officer request
8 Formal: Intensive Formal Probation Supervision (3 contacts per week) Weekly Team Meetings Random urinalysis testing Speaker s Bureau Moral Reconation Therapy Family Night Active Participation in substance abuse treatment (residential or outpatient)
9 Greene County Youth Academy (GCYA): Any youth making transition from residential to outpatient while in GCYA will automatically be referred to RADAR. Youth beginning GCYA in outpatient treatment, or develops a need for outpatient treatment while in program will be assessed on a individual level for appropriateness of RADAR services. Services for GCYA youth in RADAR will mimic Formal RADAR services.
10 Formal Probation Service Outcomes: Currently 14% of the youth receiving Formal Probation Services were adjudicated for a drug related offense. Since January 2013, only three youth released resulted in a commitment to the Division of Youth Services. 13 youth have been served in our Formal RADAR program. Of 10 releases, only 3 resulted in a commitment to the Division of Youth Services
11 Juvenile Detention: Urinalysis testing upon admission If the juvenile is from Greene County and has positive urinalysis test, the results will be forwarded to both RADAR coordinator and the juvenile s DJO/PO. Track test results from urinalysis testing for statistics. Provide youth with informational material regarding substance abuse and treatment resources in the area. Groups: PACT 360 Moral Reconation Therapy Guest Speakers
12 -Bi-monthly guest speaker for youth and families regarding substance abuse -Previous speakers and topics: Law Enforcement Officer- Teens and Risky Behavior Medical Professional- Substance abuse and affects on health & wellness Law Enforcement Officer- K2 and Synthetic Drugs Criminology College Professor- Substance abuse and effects on future planning and college (October 2013) -Future ideas for speakers Assistant Prosecutor-MIP s AIDS Project of Ozarks- Possible referral to individual to speak Pastor from a Recovery Ministry DEA Military/ROTC etc..
13 Held in months with a 5 th Tuesday (approximately 3-5 times per year) Youth and family attend together and participate in fun activities to facilitate Family bonding. Previous activities: Minute to Win It Halloween party (October 2013)
14 Bi-annual community events to engage youth in RADAR and the community In substance abuse education in a fun manner Previous events: Partnered with Springfield Skate Park Skatepark Event 2013 for National Drug Fact s Week -Community Partners (Burrell C-Star, CPO, GCSD DARE, Ministry Partner) -Guest Speakers Youth effected by substance abuse, Mercy Hospital Trauma department, Springfield Police Department, Partnered with Springfield-Greene County Parks Department Back to School Pool Party 2013 at Fassnight Pool -Guest Speaker (GCSD DARE Officer) -Substance abuse information bags handed out
