You ll see many free and cheap hosting packages available our advice is to know what service you are getting (and what level of hosting management and technical support you will get from the hosting company) as with everything else in life you get what you pay for Rackspace Cloud hosting for very high availability (typically over 99.99%) and to allow for rapid expansion of traffic Cloud hosting will give you very high availability, and the flexibility to scale up and down bandwidth, disk space and processing power as the demand for your website increases. The advantage of cloud services is a higher level of resilience and up time, along with the flexibility to scale the hosting requirements very quickly. Cloud server replacement guarantees Cloud Servers exist on single physical nodes, so if your website resides on a single Cloud Server, a hardware fail may cause downtime. The hypervisors essentially distribute the resources from Ram to CPU to disk space, according to the size of the server you opt for. The network and power supplies are redundant, which explains our 100% network uptime guarantee. The 1 hour hardware replacement guarantee applies to failed hardware supporting your instance. The 3 hour host degradation guarantee applies to your instance when being migrated to an entirely new physical host machine. Fully managed level of support We strongly recommend managed hosting (only ever consider self-managed server if you have a UNIX SysAdmin member in your IT team to undertake trouble shooting, security patching, configuration, upgrades of the operating system, the server administration software and the standard software (Apache, MySQL). Again most hosting companies don t make it very clear what level of management and support you get on Cloud hosting unless you ask Do I need 4GB, 8GB or more? 8GB Rackspace servers are required for more complex site ites which have a higher load and or numerous modules. A quick rule of thumb is if your site is simple CMS with low load only then 4GB tends to be adequate*. If it is a customised CMS with additional modules, they demand more memory and so 8GB is recommended*. (*Depending on traffic load).

8 The way we do things Project Management S8080 s team of five project managers adopt and scale relevant elements of the PRINCE2 and Agile methodologies depending on the scope of your project and your specific requests. This means your project runs according to an agreed plan, with an agreed budget and agreed deliverables, and that all risks are monitored and communicated to you. We use BaseCamp software for secure sharing and collaborative working. We pay great attention to the initial scoping of the project to ensure that all deliverables are clearly defined. Careful planning and meticulous documentation ensures that everyone understands their responsibilities and the expected outcome of the project. The devil is in the details. QA and Testing In addition to usability and accessibility testing, the entire website undergoes stringent QA and testing at each stage of the project. A change request is more like but we need to consider this other thing as well. If a feature is not working as intended and agreed upon within S8080 s wireframes and documentation and the CMS documentation, it s a bug. If the feature is a change to the requirements, and/or undocumented in S8080 s wireframes and documentation, then it is a change request. However, the way we address change requests and bugs obviously depend on the limitations of the open source or COTS CMS and plug ins/modules we are using for your project, it may not always be possible to change core functionality or fix bugs until the CMS developer updates their software. We will always suggest alternatives though.

9 Our organisational structure - flat We have broken the traditional agency model. We don t insert the extra layer of inaccessibility that business development people or account managers tend to introduce. You ll have access to anyone in our company, whenever you need it. During the alignment and UX phase of your project, you ll be working directly with S8080 s directors. Then, once it s time to start the creative elements of your project, you can speak directly to the designer who is working on it (most of the time, they make a lot of sense). You can chat about database structures with our technical team lead or discuss the intricacies of accessibility with our implementation team. Of course, you can still go through our project management team if that is easier for you. Sub-contracting - we don t S8080 delivers all UX, creative and technical solutions using our UK based in-house teams. None of the work is entrusted to external contractors and all testing and quality control is carried out in-house. The only areas where we use trusted partners are: Hosting of websites Assessment of Internet security Translations Copywriting Laboratory based user testing Pan disability user testing No freelancers or contractors All of the design, development, training and support for your project will be delivered using permanent employees who are based in our Swansea offices. We do not use and have never used freelance staff or contractors. You will find this is very unusual for an agency, but we demand complete control over our production schedule and allocation of human resources and this difficult to guaranteed if freelancer staff and contractors are used. This policy also ensures information security and maintains consistency in the quality of our development.

We log all nonconformities and deal with them using a very specific ISO 9001:2008 procedure. If you have a concern, it should be addressed to your dedicated S8080 project manager a friendly phone call is normally appropriate. But if you feel the issue is serious enough to complain formally, that is best done by to your project manager or an S8080 Director. We will investigate your concern using a Corrective Action Report as soon as possible (always the same day) and send you the completed report with: Details of nonconformity Corrective action details Preventative action details Directors comments Once you have had a chance to read the report, we will then ask you if: You feel the nonconformity has been recorded accurately You feel that the corrective action(s) have resolved the issues You feel that any other preventative actions or new procedures can be put in place to stop this happening again This will be followed up with a telephone call from Chris, Matt or your project manager to ensure you are happy with the outcome. We can then close the case or escalate further if you are not satisfied.
