Since the area above ground level is operated in slopes the geomorphic expression of the lease hold consists a triangular prism in configuration and hence the volume for the reserves estimation is taken only half of the total volume. The reserves available in the lease are complied as stated below. Based on the working pit data and old pit data the reserves of the lease area are as below Area recommended for Quarry Lease =8.000 hectares Average width of the granite deposit in QL area= 100m Average length of the granite deposit in Q L area = 550m Average Depth of the granite deposit estimated below ground level in QL area = 10m Average height of the granite deposit above the ground level =40m (1.0m top soil=39m Granite body) Depth of working pits = 10m (maximum) from top of the hill Reserves estimated below ground level = 10m

27 R. M. Eswara Naidu Annexure of Form-1 This reserves has been estimated to a depth of about 40 meters leaving the 1.0 meter depth of soil cover, below the ground of the quarry area about 10 meters of sheet rock deposit estimated. The recovery percentage is taken at 90 percent of insitu reserves of the sheet rock and 10 percent of wastage in the form of overburden respectively. A) Reserves Estimated Above ground level Total Volume: Length x Width x Height 550mts x100mts x 40mts (80/2=40mts, height in meters/2) = 22,00,000 CBM Total tonnage = Total Volume x specific Gravity (2.79) =22, 00,000x2.79=61, 38,000 Tonnes B) Reserves estimated below ground level up to 10 meters Total Volume =550mtsx 100mts x 10 mts = 5, 50,000CBM Tonnage = Volume x specific Gravity =5, 50,000 x 2.79 =15, 34,500 Tonnes. C) Grand total of the reserves: A+B = 61, 38, , 34,500 =76, 72,500 Tonnes Mineable Reserves: As the lease area is exposed of with massive rock unit as such there was an OB as an average of 1 meter thickness. However about 10 percent is not taken as minable reserve considering the area blocked due to scientific mining operations. Total Minable Reserves = 76, 72, 500 tonnes Minable reserves = Total Reserves Reserves blocked in scientific mining operations in TF. = = 69, 05,250 Tonnes Mineable reserves and life of quarry The total quantity of mineable reserves is considered as (economic) marketable reserves. In this way a total mineable reserves of 69, 05,250Tonnes are available in this QL area. The production is proposed to obtain 1, 45,838 tonnes per year. At this rate of production, the expected life of the mine is calculated as below. Life of the Quarry: Total minable Reserves / average annual production = 69, 05,250 tonnes /1, 45,838 tonnes = 47 years Year wise development and production During the plan period a total rock mass of Tons will be excavated out of which tons of road metal will be produced and remaining material of about 1842 Tons will go as rock waste. Year wise production and waste generation details are presented in table A-2. A-5
