General Education (BG Perspective) Equivalencies All students must meet BGSU s university, general education, college, and program specific degree requirements effective at the time the student enters the program. If the degree articulated in this guide has any specific equivalent recommendations for BG Perspectives, please include them in the grid below or in the SPECIAL(NOTES(FOR(BG(Perspectives. For example, if your program requires students to take a specific class in one of the domains, please insert the BGSU course number and the partner school equivalency in the grid below. FOREIGN LANGUAGE ADMISSION REQUIREMENT Admission to Bowling Green State University includes a requirement for a language other than English. However, the foreign language admissions requirements will not apply to students who have completed 30 or more semester hours of credit-bearing post-secondary courses at BGSU Firelands or at another college or university (as per Transfer Students policy). INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVE REQUIREMENT The BG Perspective general education program requires students to complete an international perspective theme that facilitates student exploration of the significance of diverse international cultures within their own lives and promotes exploring the role of international issues and connections in our increasingly interconnected global society. Depending on which courses are used to meet the arts/humanities and social science components, the student may need to take an additional course in international perspectives. Courses approved to satisfy this international perspective requirement are marked with an asterisk (*) throughout this guide. An international experience, defined as an academic study abroad experience bearing three or more credits or a documented international military deployment of at least 30 consecutive or 60 nonconsecutive days, also will fulfill that International Perspective requirement.
