2 The reason WHY you should study international relations in Hungary Hungary is a beautiful country in the heart of Europe geographically bridging the east and the west at the crossroads of four different cultures: the Latin Germanic, Byzantine and Slavic. As a member state of the European Union and the Schengen Area, study in Hungary enables students to transfer their studies and have their degrees acknowledged everywhere within the EU. The high standard of Hungarian higher education looks back on a history of more than 600 years. The favourable tuition fees, low cost of living, and low rate of violent crime in international comparison as well as the rich natural and cultural environment makes it an attractive destination for study abroad. The question What are Hungarians like? is not an easy one to answer. They are colourful and diverse. According to visitors, Hungarians are talented, romantic, happy and above all warm-hearted. Hungary has been a part of European history and has shaped the fate of the continent, sometimes with a greater, sometimes with a smaller influence. Having been present on the political, economic and cultural map of Europe for 1,100 years Hungarians have preserved their identity while retaining their specific and individual features. The preceding turbulent centuries with wars and dominance of different empires have paved the way towards becoming a full member of the European community of nations and its present organization, the EU from May And all this required cooperation, reconciliation and tolerance, and later: successful integration and adaptation - as this is proved by Hungary s experience.

3 The reason WHY you should STUDY international relations AT KJU The master s course provides in-depth knowledge of the EU as a global actor as well as skills in international negotiations and diplomacy. The study program brings together an interdisciplinary analysis of the EU s external relations with a professional dimension preparing graduates to enter the European or international public administration as well as the nongovernmental or private sectors. On the grounds of academic excellence and its wide network of national and international partnerships, KJU offers a problem-based learning environment with real-life case studies, consulting projects for partner organizations, team challenges or study tours that provide chances to learn in an interactive way. The International Salon program offers a series of lectures inviting well known diplomats, think tanks, representatives of EU and international organizations as well as prominent figures of public life and mass media.

6 Studying at Kodolányi not only gives me theoretical knowledge but also a solid practical background. Our teachers really support us in our quest to achieve our own personal goals and development, both professionally and personally. I feel very lucky to have such great teachers and class mates on whom I will be able to count on even after graduation. This program provides me with all the knowledge I need in order to compete with the best of them on the job market. I completed my compulsory practical training at the International Relations Office at the Ministry of Domestic Affairs and went on to be an intern at the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After graduation, I applied again to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but this time to the Embassy in Paris. I still cherish my time there very much, it was truly unforgettable for all the practical knowledge I gained and all the personal relationships that I formed.
