Our hands-on experience includes: thermo-cutting, SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and applications of pipe welding. The students learn to weld and fabricate using various metals: brass, copper and cast iron. Hands-on projects are used to apply what you learn. Included will be fitting of different materials, sweat soldering, plumber diagrams, and various types of water delivery. Jan. 09, Jan. 28, 2014 Monday - Thursday 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm Tuition: $400 Heating & Insulation 16 hours The students in this class will learn basic operation and maintenance of residential heating. 13 BUILDER, CONTRACTOR AND REMODELER Electricity 40 hours In this class, the student will learn the various concepts of circuits utilizing bread boards to create circuits using 120 and 240 singlephase power. The student will also use full size mock-ups for circuit wiring procedures using switches, receptacles and lighting. Low voltage electrical wiring will also be covered. Feb. 05, Feb. 24, 2014 Monday - Thursday 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm Tuition: $400 Dry Wall and Counter Tops 48 hours Students in this class will learn the basic application of dry wall along with finishing techniques, preparation, and texture. Repair of dry wall will also be covered. Construction of counter tops will be covered. Trim Carpentry 48 hours The student will be given instructions on finished carpentry techniques. 16 PART-TIME PROGRAMS MACHINE SHOP (Open to Machine Trades Apprentices) CNC PROGRAMMER TRAINING The need for broadly trained CNC Technicians and Machinists is on the rise. Retirees are expected to exceed the supply of adequately trained new machine programmers and operators. Learn how to program and use the tools needed to work in this growing industry. Students must pass the pre-admissions testing standards to be eligible for this training. Student must have at least 2 years of proven machining experience or education. Techniques focus on proper handling and reading of these instruments that are used to determine measurement to specific tolerances during this course.
