COURSE DESCRIPTION This course is designed to prepare every student to share his/her faith boldly, without fear, in any and every situation publicly and privately; in addition, students will be prepared to teach and lead others in the biblical pursuit of evangelism for the glory of God. The course involves instructor-led evangelism outings outside the classroom. II. RATIONALE A. Philosophical: 1. Students will be taught that the Bible is the guide to salvation; it is the source for equipping every believer. 2. Students will be taught that planting the seed of the Gospel is the duty of every believer and that through personal steps of obedience, God will bless by adding to His church. 3. Students will be taught that God has commanded every Christian to present the Gospel following the scriptural pattern of "law to the proud" and "grace to the humble" (James 4:6). B. Practical: Every Christian should develop a working skill of passing out tracts to most everyone they meet, sharing the Gospel one-to-one and/or a group, as the Lord leads, and a knowledge and desire to sharpen their evangelistic ax. 3 Page 3 V. COURSE REQUIREMENTS A. Academic Requirements: 1. Students will read and answer discussion questions from the text, Share Jesus Without Fear. 2. Students will read the texts, Share Jesus Without Fear and One Thing You Can t Do in Heaven, and write a book report on each book (see instructor for book report format). 3. Students must attend eight (8) of the following events for evangelism outings. NOTE: Students must attend these events in their entirety. (i.e., be there from start to finish). a. January 18- Door knocking 1:00 pm 3:00 pm b. February 22 Door knocking 1:00 pm 3:00 pm c. March 15 Door knocking 1:00 pm 3:00 pm d. April 5 - Little Treasures Sale (TBA) e. Any Saturday with the Bus Ministry 10:00am - 12:00pm f. Any Monday in the Food Pantry Ministry/GCN Outreach 6:15 pm - 8:15 pm g. Any Thursday in Reformer s Unanimous 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm 4. Students will take surveys and witness one-to-one and/or in groups during the evangelism outings. 5. Students will share experiences in class of witnessing encounters other than the organized evangelism outings. 6. Students will keep an ongoing journal in a Word (or similar) document format of their evangelism outings. After participating in each evangelism excursion, students must promptly record their observations and experiences and be prepared to share them with the class. 7. Students will memorize verses which are due as noted in item VII, Course Outline. 8. Students will memorize the evangelism outline which is due as noted in item VII, Course Outline. B. Attendance Policies: 1. A maximum of four (4) absences will be allowed for any reason with the exception of administrative absences. Any student missing more than four (4) classes will receive an F. 2. If a student is more than ten (10) minutes late to a class or leaves more than ten (10) minutes early, he will be counted absent. 3. Three (3) tardies will constitute one (1) absence and will detract from the total allowable absences.

If a student arrives to class after attendance has already been recorded, he must speak to the instructor immediately following the class in order to verify his attendance was properly recorded. Attendance records will not be changed retroactively. 5. Although evangelism outings will be scheduled in compatibility with students work and ministry schedules, students are expected to be flexible in order to accomplish coordinated excursions with the instructor and to fulfill their minimum expectation of eight (8) organized excursions. C. Test Make-up Policies 1. Make-up quizzes will only be permitted if the absence is excusable (sickness, death in the family, jury duty, or an emergency). 2. A note must be given to the teacher immediately upon returning to class stating the nature of the absence. 3. All make-up quizzes should be scheduled immediately upon returning to class and then taken within one week of the absence. 4. Please go to Bro. Josh Wright s office to make up quizzes. 5. No major exams (i.e., mid-term or final exams) will be taken unless the absence results from extenuating circumstances which are approved by the administration. VI. COURSE OBJECTIVES A. Cognitive: 1. Students will consider and embrace the biblical commands for evangelism. 2. Students will consider and embrace the biblical motivations for evangelism. B. Affective: 1. Students will observe and participate in evangelism endeavors. 2. Students will learn how to lead a child to Christ. 3. Students will learn how to lead an adult to Christ. 4. Students will seek regularly to pray, to meet people, and to tell them about Jesus. C. Psychomotor: None
