1 Final Report CHINA AID May,2014 Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center Record number of exhibitors and visitors for 2014 show Exhibitors and visitors impressed by show quality Strong support and purchasing from government authorities The Ninth edition of CHINA AID held on May at Shanghai World Expo & Convention Center attracted a record number of exhibitors and visitors, confirming its position as a major expo for Asian senior care and rehabilitation medicine. CHINA AID 2014 was hosted by Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau, Shanghai Municipal Committee on Ageing and Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai. CHINA AID is a trade expo of senior care and rehabilitation medicine which has the longest history, largest scale and highest degree of internationalization in China. Since 2000, CHINA AID has established a good reputation world wild for welfare industry. Adhering to the idea of Thanksgiving, Caring, Serving, Developing, CHINA AID focuses on Senior Service, Rehabilitation Medicine, Live Care, Age-friendly buildings and Healthcare. Centering on age-friendly and disabled-friendly environment, rehabilitation care, mental health, healthcare, information service, organization operation management, nursing and service talent training, etc., CHINA AID brings together the social force, makes full use of the market effect, and builds a comprehensive platform of show, communication, cooperation and development, which meets the needs of old people and disabled persons. More than 300 companies from England, Germany, Austria, America, Japan, Belgium, Denmark, Italy, Sweden, Canada, Iceland, Australia, Singapore, China, China Hong Kong, and China Taiwan, altogether 16 countries and regions, showcased new products and technologies on CHINA AID 2014 with a floor space of over 20,000 m 2. Taiwan Pavilion and Japanese Pavilion which had more than 50 companies attracted a great number of visitors.
2 CHINA AID 2014 brought together 26,041 trade visitors from 36 countries and regions, 606 foreign visitors and 25,435 domestic visitors from 226 cities of China s 29 provinces and autonomous regions. The number of visitors is the largest in history. More than 65% of the trade visitors were from government or management and purchasing department. The visitors of the expo were more and more professional. CHINA AID maintained the leading position in the domestic industry! 3 International and Extensive Platform of the Industry CHINA AID 2014 was a comprehensive trade platform of products, technologies and services. Over 300 exhibitors showcased more than 800 brands and thousands of products. A great many top brand companies took part in the show. Many new products were launched at the exhibition. Innovative ideas integrated with human care, products design for future needs, and first-class service embodying the integration of medicine and care were presented at CHINA AID respectively. Innovation in Product Design Reflects Human Concern To promote the development of the industry and lead the technical innovation, CHINA AID has continually introduced the latest technical achievements in the fields of senior care services and medical rehabilitation from home and abroad. Union Life introduced pension cards at different time periods in the community and provided personal service for the aged. Nichii Japan Medical Group demonstrated its service concept of Three Preferences. The wearing type watch and mobile phone from Taiwai United, combining the cloud platform, could detect the wearer's pulse, body temperature, and other health data in real time. WELLNESS balls from Technogym Italy made it possible for people to do exercise while sitting and thus keep fit. In-depth report from the media CHINA AID has won the concern and guidance from the government authorities and the attention from both professional and public media. In the process of preparation and display, CHINA AID has been widely reported by 42 professional media and 21 public media. During the three-day exhibition period, more than 13 well-known newspapers have made in-depth reports on the exhibition for the new and special professional products as well as the high quality services on display; the popular TV programs have broadcast the exhibition on the scene; portal sites such as Xinhuanet.com, Eastday.com have released many live reports on the exhibition. Besides, CHINA AID has delivered information on the American, European and Asian network media through the overseas platforms. As a result, the overseas visitors of CHINA AID have risen by 50% this year.
4 Fringe Programs Lead the industry development 2014 China International Summit Forum for Aging The forum was themed with Age-friendly Community and Senior Care Service. Dou Yupei, the deputy minister of Ministry of Civil Affairs of PRC, and Shi Guanghui, the deputy Mayor of Shanghai, delivered important speeches. Shi Xiaolin, the director of Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau as well as the director of Shanghai Municipal Committee on Ageing gave a speech on building age-friendly community and strengthening social senior care service system. Zhang Kaiti, the deputy director of China Silver Industry Association, introduced the standardized construction of senior care services; Paul Montgomery, president of RDNS shared the successful experience of community and home-based senior care services in Australia; Hou Xueyuan, the director of Jiangsu Civil Affairs Bureau and Su Changcong, the deputy director of Zhejiang Civil Affairs Bureau made remarks on senior care policies and service modes, offering new thinking methods and ideas for the development of senior care. China Forum on Nursing Homes 2014 To coping with the industry confusion, experts from various fields such as management, service, and information construction were all invited to the forum to share their experiences. Zhou Jingbo, the deputy director of Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau and Chen Hualong, the secretary general of Shanghai Social Welfare Association addressed the forum. Astrid Vonhoff from UBG Business Consulting Co.,Ltd shared the experience of senior care and nursing system in German; Zhang Naizi, the director of Shanghai Third Social Welfare Institute gave a speech named High quality care and support for the Alzheimer sufferers and shared some representative nursing methods; Yu Xiaoping, the head nurse of senior officials inpatient ward of Ruijin Hospital demonstrated the standard disinfection process. 2 nd China International Forum for Directors of Rehabilitation Hospitals The theme of this forum was Preparation, Management and Operation of Rehabilitation Hospitals. The directors brainstormed on the construction, management and operation of rehabilitation hospitals and departments by means of the communication with government officials. Prof. Li Jian an, Chairman of ISPRM, hosted this forum. Qu Jieming, deputy director of Shanghai Municipal Health Bureau, and Wang Yuejin, deputy secretary general of Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, addressed the forum. Tang Dan, director of Guangdong Provincial Work Injury Rehabilitation Hospital, Liu Jun, director of Shanghai Sunshine Rehabilitation Center, Peng Shaocheng, director of Shanghai Yongci Rehabilitation Hospital, and Qi Guoyang, director of Wuxi Tongren International Rehabilitation Hospital, communicated with the audience in the salon. In the keynote speech, Xiao Yue, associate researcher of National Health Development Research Center, made the speech of Opportunity and Challenge of Rehabilitation Service Development in China, introduced the experience of overseas rehabilitation and the system of rehabilitation service
5 in China, and elaborated the internal policy of health system. Zheng Jiejiao, secretary general of Shanghai Rehabilitation Medical Association, suggested bringing rehabilitation service into the service system of Shanghai social senior care. The fringe programs included the 3rd International Conference of Rehabilitation Medical Engineering, the 6th Shanghai International Conference on Orthopaedic Rehabilitation, Technical Innovation Forum on Senior Care, Rehabilitation and Nursing, Feature Forum on Australian Senior Care, Professionals Seminar on Japanese Nursing Service, Returning to Basics, Initiating Health Life Theme Forum on the 4th China Healthcare Industry Exhibition, New Materials Make Life Healthier Summit, etc. The audience learned the new ideas of a healthy life, products and technologies. 3rd China Silver Welfare Product Design Competition The theme of this competition is Science and Technology Makes a Wonderful Senior Life. With the participation of enterprises, institutes, designers and amateurs both home and abroad, the competition aimed to promote innovation and competition, invent scientific, healthy, comfortable and senior-oriented products, and improve senior life. Selected by experts, the winner would be recommended to senior organizations, communities and families. The previous champion, Fascinating Nursing, an intelligent management system for the aged, had been adopted in Weifang No. Two New Village, Pudong. So this competition has been widely supported and recognized. Free guidance by the experts to improve senior life In order to serve the public and care for the aged, the organizer associated experts in Shanghai Huadong Hospital and Zhongshan Hospital to provide free consultation on senior assistance devices on May 26, introducing the application, usage and maintenance of assistance devices, solving the problems of usage, and improving senior life. Human and care orientation is the theme of the exhibition. The aged and disabled received great care, such as step-free access, free water supply, wheelchair rental and volunteer service. Meanwhile, New Vision Eye Clinic and Modern Dentist offered free checkup and consultation on vision, cataract and teeth for 3 days. Gua Sha treatment was also available for free. CHINA AID is the best show platform of welfare industry for senior care, rehabilitation medicine and health care in China.
