1 Master of Business Administration Winter term 2010

2 I completed the International Business MBA in February 2008, and was engaged by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe the following month as the Chief, Human Resources for one of its Institution located in Warsaw, Poland. The Institution - Organization for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE-ODIHR) is active throughout the OSCE area (56 countries) in the fields of election observation, democratic development, human rights, tolerance and non-discrimination, and rule of law. It is a fulfilling and challenging job to help colleagues from more than 20 countries to enjoy their work with OSCE-ODIHR; to devise stimulating, predictive and flexible working environment for better results. The knowledge and skills gained during the MBA help me a lot to succeed in this role. Similarly the experience at GSO-MI was challenging and fulfilling. The program was intensive including very relevant and balanced set of subjects which attracted me to it in the first place. The methods were great. Not only that we had to master subject matter of international management but also were stimulated to improve our team, presentation and consultancy skills. Special attention was given to developing soft skills and recognizing their central role for the management career. The program was carefully crafted so that many opportunities for camaraderie were created and that students interact and network. My year with GSO-MA and fellow students was excellent learning and life experience. Name: Jasnic, Dejan (Born in Croatia) Graduates 2008 Company: OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, Warsaw Position: Chief Human Resources

MBA Master of Business Administration The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a master's degree in business administration, which attracts people from a wide range of academic disciplines. The MBA designation originated in the United States, emerging from the late 19th century as the country industrialized and companies sought out scientific approaches to management. The MBA degree has since achieved worldwide recognition as a professional degree. Graduates of accredited MBA programs are well prepared to undertake advanced professional occupations in businesses, as well as in colleges and universities as instructors of business administration and management. Germany was one of the last western countries to adopt the MBA degree. In 1998, the Hochschulrahmengesetz (Higher Education Framework Act), a German federal law regulating higher education including the types of degrees offered, was modified to permit German universities to offer master's degrees. The traditional German degree in business administration was the Diplom but since 1999, bachelor's and master's degrees have gradually displaced the traditional degrees (see Bologna process). Today most German business schools offer the MBA. Most German states require that MBA degrees have to be accredited by one of the six agencies officially.

Students can take part in courses for communication skills, grammar and advanced trainings. German students could choose from a wide range of language courses like Chinese, Russian or Arabic. Career Service The university provides a diverse range of careers and employment resources and information, including job advertisement, company profiles, recruiting events and Counselling of the staff. For higher level education, there is clear demarcation between Uni and Hochschule, which is not found in India. The good thing about the German system is that there is lot of interaction between Industry and College during the course of study. There are lots of options for doing internships, unfortunately lacking in the Indian system. But as I see, there are pros and cons both sides. And one positive aspect India can adapt would be the concept of Internships... This decision has more to do with my personal traits. When I worked earlier with Siemens in India, I felt very caged and always felt that I could do more. A job is more about satisfaction than money for me. Having said all this, being an entrepreneur was a good option. A business will help me serve my society better in whatever little way I can. Pramod Balaji Born in India, Graduate 2009 Company Established his own Business in India
