Upon completion of the Diploma of Human Resources Management, you will have all of the fundamental knowledge that you will require to work effectively and productively as a Human Resource Manager. You will be able to identify the appropriate recruitment, selection and induction techniques for staff which forms the basis of a successful organisation that is adaptive to today s progressive and dynamic business environment. You will also develop an understanding of performance management, remuneration and employee benefits, workforce planning and rehabilitation programs that are essential to any role in this field. 3 QUALIFICATION PATHWAYS Pathways into the qualification Preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification include: after achieving the BSB41007 Certificate IV in Human Resources or other relevant qualification/s; OR providing evidence of competency in the majority of units required for the BSB41007 Certificate IV in Human Resources or other relevant qualification/s; OR with vocational experience in human resource management, but without formal qualifications. Examples of indicative job roles for candidates seeking entry based upon their vocational experience include: Human Resources Assistant Human Resources Officer Payroll Officer. This breadth of expertise would equate to the competencies required to undertake this qualification. Pathways from the qualification After achieving the BSB50607 Diploma of Human Resources Management, candidates may undertake the BSB60407 Advanced Diploma of Management or a range of other Advanced Diploma qualifications. COURSE STRUCTURE You are required to complete 8 units of study for the Diploma of Human Resources Management (BSB50607) Core Units Complete All BSBHRM501A v1 Manage Human Resource Services BSBHRM501A v2 Manage Human Resource Services BSBHRM503A Manage Performance Management Systems This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to plan and oversee and deliver human resources services. It is not specific to any given human resources function and deals with the coordination of services and approaches. This unit takes an overview of human resources services and includes business ethics. It incorporates all functions associated with remuneration including packaging, salary benchmarking, market rates reviews, bonuses and the legislative aspects of remuneration and employee benefits. This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to manage all aspects of the recruitment selection and induction processes in accordance with organisational policies and procedures. This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to deal with redeployment, resignation, retirement, dismissal and redundancy, including the conduct of exit interviews. This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to manage programs within a health and wellbeing focus. The unit addresses the management of the range of programs that would typically be associated with health and wellbeing such as stress management, smoking cessation, exercise, Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs). This unit applies to individuals employed in a range of work environments who are required to plan and manage conferences. They may work as senior administrative staff, or may be other individuals who have been delegated responsibility for planning and managing a conference. This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to facilitate all aspects of teamwork within the organisation. It involves taking a leadership role in the development of team plans, leading and facilitating teamwork and actively engaging with the management of the organisation. 5 ASSESSMENTS AOT uses competency based assessment methods to ensure students have demonstrated their performance to a required standard. Competency based assessment is the focus of accredited vocational courses on what the student can actually do and the standard at which they are able to perform. Performance is measured in terms of whether students meet the prescribed levels of competency, not how well they carry out tasks relative to each other or the length of time taken to attain the skills.
