Which health insurance carrier do you prefer? Comments (optional) I have 8 children and we have had anthem since I would prefer to keep anthem and our doctors. I would like to be able to continue to use doctors I am currently seeing and not be limited by 's network. is not owned by Centra Health and will have more options available for subscribers. I do not know if my doctors participate with. I might pay a little more monthly, however, I have NEVER had any problems with. The deductible is very low for the option that I have and I have been able to use while out of town without any problems at all. From my research, does not have a wide range of doctor's offices that participate. I personally do not want to be restricted on which doctors I may see, so I would prefer to continue using. Thanks. Please select your main location of employment. ACHS/AMS/AES

When I had in the past, they did not provide good coverage and were quite difficult to work with regarding claims. As a matter of fact, my daughter took a trip to New York and had to return home for medical care when no one would accept the insurance. Also, as I live closer to Charlottesville, I go to physicians affiliated with UVA and Martha Jefferson. I do not want to change coverage. is quick to pay and willing to accept the doctors I choose to see. My insurance is important to me, and I want the best coverage available. is and has always been a great provider. ACPS has previously had coverage with Health plan; the coverage was horrendous. I much prefer because it is accepted by more medical professional and entities, not only in this area, but also in areas outside of the state. If we go with a "cheaper" plan, then we will "get what we pay for". Better benefit packet and plan for employees, better overall coverage. I prefer to be with a larger company - greater support, wider acceptance and recognition, more negotiating power and a larger pool of insured We have been very pleased with the insurance coverage our family has had with. We appreciate having a recognized name in healthcare insurance when we travel. We also liked the new features they spoke about in the insurance meeting! Thank you. My husband has, and it severely limits his
choices when looking for health care in the Lynchburg area. For example, I have gone to Urgent Care at Med- Express with and been received within 30 minutes in a clean and comfortable facility. Stephen had to go to the only Urgent care close to us that accepted, and it was old, filthy and jammed with people. He also had a wait time of over 2 hours! is only a good option for those lucky few who stay continuously in good health, for the average person there is no comparison between and. We have had other carriers in the past and seems to meet the needs of the vast majority of our personnel the best. It is especially good for those individuals who need special treatment outside the immediate area. We need to keep. It is a universal insurance and recognized everywhere, even in foreign countries. My wife has, and it does not offer the same benefits as. She has never been happy with it! She tells me all of the time how lucky we are to have. I have had a kidney transplant and get my immunosuppressive drugs through 's mail order at a very reasonable price. If we change, I won't be able to get the same coverage. PLEASE don't change to ; we won't be happy. All of us had rather pay the difference in cost. You get what you pay for. IS the best. I have had before and it was not good. Some basic services that fully covers for me, does not. I had to submit paperwork for reimbursement constantly and at much reduced rates. I travel so much that I MUST have easy access to healthcare. I want to stick with.
Stick with. Stay with a "proven" good thing regardless of the cost My husband works at B & W where they have switched over to. It is absolutely the worst insurance that we have ever had. The surgery that my husband has to have on his eye several times a year only cost us our $45
co-pay with. Now we have to pay $1,400 for the same insurance. My daughter's prescription toothpast that she used to get for $10 for a three month supply now cost us $26 for a two month supply. They have pretty much applied everything that my whole family has filed this year to our deductible. They have a loop-hole for everything! I'd rather pay a little more personally to get the best coverage statewide. In addition, I want to remain in a national network because they offer the best, most comprehensive coverage no matter where I live or travel. I think staff deserves to have the best insurance and it will be a good incentive for those coming to work in the county that we have a good policy. Better coverage for only a little more $
Both plans could use improvement from what we're paying and will be paying in school year.
I have children out of state so this is essential to me!
Amherst Education Amherst Education Amherst Education Concerns with past implementation of 's healthcare services, expeditious payments, out of area networks, and disruption of service between two Amherst Education providers makes me choose. I also have concerns there may be a conflict of interest with school related personnel who have ties to. I like the current plan that we have with. It is hard for me to judge without having the specifics of how different services are treated. I know that works well for me now, so I would prefer the known to the unknown. Furthermore, I really like how allows me to be seen in-network basically anywhere in the country. This is a valuable benefit. I am also concerned that might be low-balling the quote to get us to switch and will then up it considerably next year. Amherst Education Amherst Education Amherst Education Amherst Education Amherst Education
I don't think its a good choice to select a plan like that only provides coverage localy. Many teachers have family in other states and travel frequently. is used by all my Charlottesville doctors. I have been very satisfied with the coverage. Amherst Education Amherst Education
I DO NOT want Insurance...I have had them in the past and they are awful. If I need specialized health care I do not want to be in Lynchburg and with the cost of insurance I do not want to raise my hand and ask "Mother May I". I also travel a lot in the summer and is always there. The employees of ACPS have been loyal through this financial crisis. Please do not sell us out for second rate health insurance. I had rather be in the Exchange than have. Be considerate of what is best for all ACPS employees and purcahse ANTHEM. I had years ago when I worked with another organization. I found it to be confusing, not well covered and I did not like the choice of doctors. I don't think it would be wise to change to in light of the current state of the insurance crisis in this country. is tried and true and I have never had an issue with them paying my bill. It concerns me that with the current state of how doctors are having to increase their client load to cover for the lack of payment from Medicaid and Obamacare that will be a risky choice. While the premiums might be lower, you get what you pay for with this company then in the 2nd or 3rd year they lower the boom and the huge premium increase is given. It seemed with, I never stopped paying but with I knew what my bill would be and could plan accordingly. I like a National insurance company. I am very happy with 's network and non referral service. is well-recognized everywhere. UVA facilities and speicalists are an integral part of my
health care plan I am voting for for the sole reason that does not cover my physicians that I have been seeing for the past five years. is nationally known and
recognized, and we should be able to choose our own health care providers without worrying if our insurance is going to cover it. I am more than willing to pay more for. I hope your voting decision is based on what is in the best interest of the faculty and staff who work for Amherst County and not just the bottom dollar. After looking at the list of providers, I am voting for. They are too limited. Perfer One of my biggest concern in my daughter goes to school in NJ and she has a brain & spine dr in MD, with h those area's will be more than likely out of network which will put us w/ a 60%-40% not fair not right Had before, and Dr offices around here say it's the worse insurance to deal w/. Not real happy with you messing with our insurance to begin with. Cheaper is "NOT" always better, I do "NOT" have a problem paying $363 a month for my daughter and myself We had before and DID NOT LIKE IT. Please go with. I absolutely do NOT understand why it is so much more
expensive to insure an employee/spouse than Employee child/children. Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. I would love to keep as I have had issues with in the past... I am not currently on ACPS insurance. However, there is a good possibility that I will need to insure myself and 3 children within the next year. Family members have had as a health Care provider. They were not satisfied with the coverage. I have been pleased with my coverage by. For this reason I have chosen. I do not get our health insurance.
none I currently do not have county insurance but am thinking about switching. Test Central Office I believe has been able to provide excellent coverage and support for me this year during my illness and I do not want to change companies. Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to participate in the selection. Central Office The network for is much larger then Central Office Insurance. I have a medical condition for which I'm receiving treatment at UVA and Augusta Health (Fishersville). It is important to me to maintain the coverage I have as I have had to deal with insurance paperwork, etc. regarding payment over the last several months. They understand Central Office my condition, treatment regimen, and have approved payment. I do not want to add to any additional out of pocket costs or confront situations where coverage is not provided (denied) or is more limited. Central Office I have had and was not satisfied. They were not easy to work with and did Central Office not cover what we needed them to at the time. It is important to me to work with a company that I can trust
even if the cost is a little more. has better coverage and better options. 's coverage out of state is more comprehensive. My family and I travel a lot to visit our family out of state and for sports for our daughter and it is comforting to know that we would be covered for anything that happens for us or our children. only covers "emergencies" out of state and not everything qualifies as an "emergency". Do not carry insurance with Amherst County. So one is the same as the other It's cheaper. cheaper Central Office Central Office Central Office Central Office Central Office Central Office Central Office Central Office Child Nutrition Child Nutrition Child Nutrition Child Nutrition Child Nutrition Child Nutrition
I am looking for a lower rate than what I am paying, which PCHP seems to deliver. From what I have heard it seems that they have a great rate for general care, but something extensive or on-going their rates seem to be higher and with hidden fees. It appears that does not cover the doctors at UVa. This is a huge concern for me. What kind of costs am I looking at if they are considered out of network? I would like to keep the lowest deductible possible. I prefer as long as it is accepted by the same providers as.
is preferable because it is accepted so widely making it easier to get physicians desired rather than ones determined by insurance. has been very easy to work with in the past and it is hoped that the school system will keep them. Thank you for your hard work in getting this information together and getting the reductions for us. It is greatly appreciated!!! I've had in the past and I was't impressed. They were cheap but the coverage wasn't great. I appreciate the wide variety of doctors that accept both within and outside our area. I have too many reservations about to vote for that carrier. I'm concerned the lower premium is not worth the potential problems the carrier may provide. The size of the network cannot be beat and regardless of your location, finding a provider for yourself or your dependents will not be an issue. Elementary Elementary Elementary Elementary Elementary Elementary Elementary Elementary Elementary Elementary Elementary
It is my understanding that the little bit of difference in premiums is offset by the changes in PCHP plan itself. PCHP has an abysmal reputation in the community. Friends and family members alike have told me horror stories about PCHP and its refusal to to pay for promised care. One person in particular showed me conclusive evidence that PCHP has denied every claim made the first time; indeed, this seems to be standard practice for everyone with whom I've spoken who is currently on the PCHP plan. Frankly, I would rather spend a little more money than to deal with this type of negligence. Furthermore, I find it troublesome that PCHP is now owned by Centra Health - our local "non-profit" health care provider. If anything, Centra Health is the most profitable organization in our region. There is no reason to believe that this organization will make decisions about my health care based on what is best for me as opposed to profit margins. These same decisions are made at, I know, but I would prefer to stay with the devil I know, thank you very much. I also have concerns about ACPS leadership potentially making this move. While due diligence has certainly been done in allowing presentations to be made to employees and allowing a vote, the fact remains that there is ample evidence throughout the community suggesting that a move to PCHP would be a HORRIBLE idea for the health and safety of the organization at large. I cannot stress enough that I believe a move from to PCHP would be a cataclysmic and potentially lifethreatening move for some of our employees. I urge the board to consider carefully. Your employees are worth more than an over/under in a cost-benefits analysis. Elementary Elementary Elementary Elementary Elementary Elementary Elementary Elementary
I had PCHP when I worked for Lynchburg City s. Although I didn't personally have any problems with it, my son, who is a student at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, had a problem finding a participating doctor when he needed to be seen there. I believe that you get what you pay for. It doesn't bother me in the least that costs a bit more for the employee, because I trust to be there for me. The benefits of a trusted carrier outweigh the cost increase. I have been very pleased with. When we had several years ago, it coincided with a surgery I had to have. It seemed I paid A LOT out of pocket. Media/Technology Media/Technology Media/Technology Media/Technology My husband currently has through Lynchburg City s. We basically consider him "uninsured" because does not cover a lot of 's basic coverage. To use the pharmacy, he must, and I repeat, must use an online/mail pharmacy: will not cover local pharmacies. We considered having the children covered by, but would not pay for my child's daily injections. We were told by a representative of, that we would have to pay out of pocket the first month of injections, which would be around $20,000. If we switch insurance companies, my family will need to take out a personal loan in order for my child to have his medicine.
I've had PCHP before in Campbell County and they are terrible. Never had any trouble with. I have been pleased with, and it is inconvenient to change plans with doctors' offices and pharmacies. I would prefer to stay with.
My family physician here in recently told me they were seriously thinking of not participating with PCHP.
