1 COMMUNITY & CAMPUS ORGANIZATION SCHOLARSHIPS ALPHA GAMMA SIGMA SCHOLARSHIP The CHC Alpha Gamma Sigma Honor Society (Sigma Mu Chapter) sponsors fund-raisers to support scholarships for student in CHC chapter of this statewide community college honor society. Awarded to a continuing service member of the Sigma Mu Chapter; completed 25 units or more; 3.0 GPA or higher. Selection made by club. CHIEF DAVE GOLDER HONORARY SCHOLARSHIP This is a new scholarship established to assist students who have been accepted into the CHC Fire Academy. *Students who are interested in applying for this scholarship must contact the Fire Academy to pick up the separate scholarship application. Criteria: Awarded to student with financial need (BOG eligible); honorably discharged military personnel, diverse populations; GPA of 3.0; acceptance into the CHC Fire Academy. CHILD DEVELOPMENT & EDUCATION CLUB SCHOLARSHIP The purpose of this club is to make a positive difference in the lives of children. Each year the club does a project for the CHC Child Development Center and a project for the community. The club is also involved in many fundraisers. Selection made by club COMMUNITY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a permanent resident of Riverside or San Bernardino Counties and a graduate of a Riverside or San Bernardino County high school; continuing full-time student at Crafton Hills College with a 3.0 GPA and in financial need. Prefer candidates that have qualified for financial aid. FACULTY SCHOLARSHIP This scholarship is supported by the Crafton Hills College faculty and is awarded to all Crafton Hills College students who earn an Associate s Degree in the spring semester, or in the most recent summer and fall semesters with a 4.0 cumulative GPA. HISPANIC ASSOCIATION OF COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES Students at campuses within HACU-member systems and districts are not eligible to apply to HACU scholarship programs unless the campus they attend is also a member of HACU. Student must be attending a HACU-member institution at the time scholarship awards are made. Visit HACU s website at for a complete listing of HACU members. 2 KIWANIS CLUB OF YUCAIPA VALLEY SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a student graduating this school year from Crafton Hills College and who is a resident of Yucaipa or Calimesa. Student must show high academic achievement and have contributed time to community service. *Separate application required. LARRY D. KELSEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Award given to a member of the American Association of Respiratory Care, California Association of Respiratory Care Chapter II and the Crafton Hills College Beta II Club. Student must have attended at least one Chapter II CSRC meeting. Student must have A 2.0 GPA and be in good standing in the first year Respiratory Therapist Program and planning to finish the second year program; complete a one-page essay on the reason for completion of the Respiratory Therapist Program, non-smoker preferred and a need for scholarship. * Separate application required and available in Respiratory Therapy. LATINO FACULTY, STAFF & ADMINISTRATORS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP The recipient of this award, presented by the San Bernardino Community College District Latino Faculty and Staff association, must have a 2.5 GPA, financial need and a specific educational or career goal. PHILANTHROPIC EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATION (P.E.O) SISTERHOOD RH CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP The Philanthropic Educational Organization is one of the pioneer societies for women. It is an organization where women celebrate the advancement of women; educate women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans, and stewardships, and motivate women to achieve their highest aspirations. Criteria: Awarded to a continuing Crafton Hills College female student; community involvement. ROGER C. ANTON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a student with classroom teaching as educational goal; completed 55 lower divisions units and intended to graduate at Crafton Hills College with a cumulative GPA 3.0 or higher. Must have taken equivalent of three semester of foreign language; transfer to four-year college; be a U.S. citizen. (Scholarship awarded upon proof of enrollment) STUDENT SENATE SCHOLARSHIP This scholarship is awarded to a student who has been active on the Student Senate governing board and has completed at least 12 units at Crafton Hills College with a cumulative GPA of 2.5; campus activities involvement and an ASB cardholder for two consecutive semesters. Selection made by club. TEMBY FAMILY CHC FIRE ACADEMY SCHOALRSHIP This is a new scholarship established by the Temby family to assist students who have been accepted into the CHC Fire Academy. *Students who are interested in applying for this scholarship must contact the Fire Academy to pick up the separate scholarship application. Criteria: Awarded to student with financial need (BOG eligible); honorably discharged military personnel, diverse populations; GPA of 3.0; acceptance into the CHC Fire Academy. TERRESTRIAL INVESTIGATION CLUB SCHOLARSHIP This natural history club scholarship is awarded to a continuing student who has a minimum of one full semester prior Club affiliation and has completed twelve semester units of college level coursework with a 2.5 GPA or greater. Selection made by club.

3 USA FUNDS ACCESS TO EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS Awarded to currently enrolled college students or incoming college students who plan to enroll or enrolled in full-or half-time undergraduate coursework at accredited two-or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school. Eligible applicants include students attending or planning to attend law school, medical school or other professional-degree programs. GED recipients also are eligible, have an annual adjusted gross family income of $35,000 or less as documented on federal income tax return; U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizen; are not currently in default on a federal education loan. *Separate application required. YUCAIPA VALLEY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE SCHOLARSHIP The Yucaipa Valley Chamber of Commerce started a scholarship foundation in 2008 to provide college scholarships to Yucaipa High School students pursuing a degree in business. Each year the Yucaipa Valley Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Committee interviews a number of students who compete for scholarships; to date over $5, in scholarships have been awarded. ZONTA CLUB OF REDLANDS SCHOLARSHIP Zonta International is a global service organization of executives and professionals working together to advance the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy. *Separate application required. CRAFTON HILLS COLLEGE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS AARON AND ROBIN RACE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Criteria: Awarded to a full-time transferring or continuing Crafton Hills college student; English major; 3.0 GPA or higher; financial need. ASSOCIATED STUDENT BODY OF CRAFTON HILLS COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP This scholarship is sponsored by the Crafton Hills College Student Senate. Criteria: Awarded to Crafton Hills College students; GPA of 2.0 or higher; who have shown exemplary involvement in the community and on campus; and have an AS sticker. AGUSTIN RIOS EOPS SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to two EOPS students who will be transferring to a four-year college in fall 2005 and who have maintained a cumulative GPA of 2.5; and is in good standing with the CHC EOPS program. The students must be currently involved in any community organization and/or CHC campus organization. Proof of enrollment at the four-year college is required before funds can be issued. BETTY BYRON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS Awarded to CHC student interested in library science, GPA of 2.5 or higher. Awarded to CHC student interested in fine arts, GPA of 2.5 or higher. B.S.U. CLUB SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a full-time student that has been an active member of the B.S.U. for a minimum of one semester, has a GPA of 3.0 or higher, has a financial need. CATHOLIC CHARITIES PROVIDING HELP, CREATING HOPE SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a continuing Crafton Hills College student majoring in helping professions with a financial need, community service; cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. Majors include but not limited to public service, health professions, fire science, and administration of justice.

4 CARLETON LOCKWOOD W. MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a continuing Crafton Hills College student; engineering, math or science career; GPA of 3.0 or higher. A one-page essay on Future Aspirations must be submitted. CHARLES BENSON THOMERSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a Crafton Hills College continuing student; years of age, English/Literature major with a 3.0 GPA or higher. CHARLES H. BEEMAN SCHOLARSHIP Crafton Hills College graduate planning to transfer to four-year institution; must have earned at least 24 units in residency at CHC; pursuing a course of study in the health profession; alternative majors in science and engineering may also be considered; minimum GPA of 3.0. (Scholarship awarded upon proof of enrollment) CHARLES HIBBARD/RAYE RUNNER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to student in good standing with a 2.5 GPA or higher continuing at Crafton Hills college or transferring to a four-year institution with a demonstration of financial need. CHC ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to CHC continuing or graduating student planning to transfer to a four-year institution; completed at least 24 units in residency at CHC, pursuing a course of study and profession related to administrative services including facilities or construction management, engineering, business or public administration, retail, food service, or law enforcement; GPA 2.5 or higher; jobrelated experience and financial need are considered. CHC FOUNDATION RE-ENTERING MEN AND WOMEN Re-entry students, 25 years of age or older; prior academic experience at Crafton Hills College; must have 2.0 GPA or higher; recipients seeking renewal of award must have maintained 2.0 GPA; submit a financial statement of need and a typed, one-page statement of education and career goals. (Scholarship awarded upon proof of full-time enrollment for fall) CHC MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a student with teaching as educational goal; must have cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher; must display need for financial assistance. CHILDREN S FUND SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to foster youth under the jurisdiction of the San Bernardino County Department of Children s Services or emancipated foster youth from San Bernardino County and who are less than 26 years old; pursuing a degree maintaining a GPA of at least 2.5 or pursuing a certificate in an occupational or vocational program; and demonstrate financial need based on information provided on the application of the federal aid FASFA form, after exhausting all other sources of institutional support continue to demonstrate a financial need. DIANE KELSEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a transferring or continuing CHC student interested in pursuing a career in the earth or environmental sciences; GPA of 3.0 or higher DONALD AND CAROL AVERILL CAREER TECHNICAL EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a continuing full-time Crafton Hills College student; GPA of 2.0 or higher. DONALD W. HUNT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a student majoring in health related field; completed 12 units; all letter grades at Crafton Hills College; cumulative GPA 3.0 or higher; provided personal services to college or community while student at CHC. (Scholarship awarded upon proof of enrollment

5 DR. DIANE PFAHLER SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a mental health or social science major; GPA of 3.5 or higher, continuing CHC student or transferring to a four-year institution. DUANE HARMS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a continuing 2 nd year student at CHC, majoring in Earth Science; 2.8 GPA or higher. EATON FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a continuing Crafton Hills College student or a student transferring to a four- year institution with a GPA of 2.5. Student must have financial need. EDWARD F. TAYLOR MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a Crafton Hills College graduate with special emphasis on English or Communications, cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher; and transferring to four-year institution to complete BA or S degree. Scholarship awarded upon proof on enrollment.) HARRY C. BERGER SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a CHC student continuing to 4-year college, must be a U.S. citizen, engineering major, GPA 3.5 or higher, financial need. HEALTH SCIENCES CLUB SCHOLARSHIP The Health Sciences Club was established to assist students in successfully achieving their health science associates degree, transfers, and other healthcare related career goals. The Health Sciences Club will also participate in the drive for better health awareness among students at Crafton Hills College and the surrounding communities. The HSC is free and open to all current, former, and future members of the student body of Crafton Hills College. Criteria: Awarded to a student committed to two consecutive semesters; must attend at least 50% of the club meetings per semester; must commit to 10 hours of service per semester. At least 7 of the 10 hours must be devoted to HSC associated or sponsored activities and 3 hours may be earned with other CHC clubs during the current academic year. KATHY L. BARTEL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a continuing full-time student pursuing a course of study in a health profession with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. KITCHELL/BRJ/SEVILLE SCHOLARSHIP Criteria: Awarded to a continuing Crafton Hills College student majoring in communication; must be full-time with a GPA of 2.0 or higher MARIE LENA WALLIS OLSON SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a continuing full-time student, Education major, GPA 3.5 or higher, U.S. citizen, and financial need. M.E.C.h.A. CLUB SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a full-time student that has been an active member of the M.E.C.h.A. Club for a minimum of one semester, have a 3.0 GPA and have a financial need. MICHELLE E. KONZEM MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to full-time CHC student, 30 years or older, GPA of 3.0 or higher; financial need.

6 MOLLY ADAMS SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a student with mental, physical, or learning disability or impairment; must be permanent resident of Riverside or San Bernardino Counties, maybe enrolled full-time or parttime. OSHER FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP This scholarship is awarded to the neediest of students who are BOG waiver eligible; working toward a degree. PETER LAAB SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a full time disabled student in good standing, attending Crafton Hills College, with a 2.5 PGA or higher. PMSM ARCHITECTS SCHOLARSHIP Criteria: Awarded to a full-time Crafton Hills College student focused on a design-oriented program/area of study like art or theatre arts; with a GPA of 3.0 or higher PSI BETA SCHOLARSHIP Psi Beta is the national community college honor society for students majoring in Psychology. Members must have a GPA of at least a 3.0 including all transfer units, must have earned no less than a Bin a college Psychology course and have completed at least one introductory Psychology course. Must have 12 semester hours of total college credit and be enrolled fulltime. They must have a ¾ affirmative vote of the active membership and maintain high standards of personal behavior and integrity. Criteria: Awarded to an active member of Psi Beta; who is enrolled full time; and have a 3.50 GPA or higher PSYCHOLOGY CLUB SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a full-time student hat has been an active member of the Psychology Club for a minimum of one semester, have a 3.0 GPA or higher and have a financial need. RAYMOND F. ELLERMAN SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a student majoring in music; must have cumulative GPA 2.5 or higher; must be enrolled in six units, must have demonstrated ability on musical instrument; must have participated in one or more instrumental performing groups. RESEARCH CLUB SCHOLARSHIP Active member of the Research Club; enrolled full time, GPA of 3.0 or higher, must have submitted a poster for consideration for spring convention of the current year. (RETIRED) COLONEL LEON H. BERGER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Continuing full-time CHC student majoring in education; 3.5 GPA, financial need considered. RONALD BOATMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Crafton Hills College student interested in pursuing a career in the Earth Sciences; transferring to a four-year institution with a 2.5 GPA or higher. RUBEN FINKELSTEIN SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a student who has completed 24 or more units with 3.5 GPA or higher, letter grades in all classes attempted; must have provided special services to college; must be registered in 12 or more units for the next school year at Crafton Hills College. (Scholarship awarded upon proof of enrollment.) RUTH L. TILLMAN SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a student who is a resident of Calimesa and has demonstrated public service (social service, teaching, etc.); must have 2.5 GPA or higher.

7 SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON STEM SCHOLARSHIP Criteria: Awarded to a new or continuing CHC student pursuing a certificate or associates degree in a STEM field, or preparing to major in a STEM field when they transfer to a 4-year institution TODD BROWNE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a re-entry student showing a financial need, goal oriented student preferably on the path to a teaching career; must be at least part-time and have a cumulative 3.5 GPA. WILLIAM A. RANKIN JR. MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a full-time CHC student continuing to 4-year college, must be U.S. citizen, 3.5 GPA. WIN & BETTE CARL MEMORIAL/OSHER SCHOLARS Awarded to a continuing full-time CHC English or Literature major; completion of 24 units; BOG waiver eligible; recipient should receive no more than one (1) other scholarship from CHC. WORTHY STUDENT AWARD FROM SCHOOLS FIRST FEDERAL CREDIT UNION The Worthy student Award from Schools First Federal Credit Union is awarded to a CHC student based on criteria defined by the school. Schools First Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative that has been committed to serving school employees since YUCAIPA WOMEN S CLUB PAT ELLIOTT SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a re-entry woman.
