1 Crisis Care Kits for Women s Shelter Project: Gather items (prior to event) needed at local women s shelters, construct kits and deliver kits to shelters on day of event Project Leaders: Jackie Surdenik / jackiesurdenik@att.net # of Volunteers needed: Contact Rescue Mission, Eve, Charlotte Women s Shelter Collect Items Needed (donations through Meet the Need) (500 of each) Gallon Ziploc bags Body sponges, body wash, bar soap Shampoo, conditioner, hair brush, gel, hairspray Toothbrush, toothpaste Feminine products Pillows, towels, pillow cases Fabric for pillow cases Lotion, perfume, etc. Partner with Bath & Body Works??? Totes/boxes to transfer kits Small packages of Kleenex Coloring books, crayons, stuffed animals (for children) Know how to sew Want to be involved in a project requiring minimal manual labor This project is Family Friendly 1

2 Oil Change/Car Repair for Those in Need: Project: Provide oil changes and small car repairs for those in need during preset, designated hours Project Leaders: Tom & Irma Foltz # of Volunteers needed: 50 Contact: Roger Hens of Next Level Trans. Partner with local car repair businesses to donate supplies & labor Oil Spark Plugs Air filters Knowledge of car repair Ability 2

3 Dance Your Shoes Off: Dance Flash Mob: Project: Perform choreographed dance routines around city simultaneously & dancers donate new shoes to local Volunteers of America/Homeless Angels Project Leaders: Anna Maria Horn, Stephanie Butler, Karen, Sharon, Fawn # of Volunteers needed: 150+ Recruit volunteers (partner with Newsboys) Choreograph routine (for ideas, youtube dance your shoes off ) Schedule practice dates at local churches prior to event Choose location sites for mobs (front of capitol during Komen race, Lansing Mall, Recruit sound equipment for each location 150 new pair of shoes (dancers provide own if can, Playmakers, shoe repair shops Prayer cards Available to provide own transportation Enjoy dancing Able to attend rehearsals prior to event This project is Family Friendly 3

4 Building Ramps for Elderly I Love My City 2014 Project: Partner with city/local organization to build ramps for elderly and handicapped individuals in city of Lansing, clean up of yards as well Project Leaders: Eddie Mills, Rae Foerster & Bob Sefcik Eddie: / edmills1725@comcast.net Rae: / raefoerster@comcast.net Bob: bsefcik@southnaz.org # of Volunteers needed: 200+ Contact Tuesday Toolman/Lansing Housing Coalition Make initial contact with families, visit properties, map out addresses site Saturday (prior to event) prep work Lumber Rakes, shovels Brown yard waste bags Flowers (perennials) Garden Tools Working Gloves Circular saw, drills, extension cords, saw horses, string chalk line, levels Construction oriented Able to operate/prior knowledge of power tools/bring own power tools Enjoy landscaping! 5 Clothing & Food Benefit for Those in Need: Project: Provide clothing & food donations, partnering with Homeless Angels organization.
