We are looking forward to having the little ones at Annunciation. Several of the children were here this summer for Vacation Bible School and it was fun to see their little faces light up when learning about how God loves them as big as the sky! Vacation Bible School has been a blessing to our students: both the younger children and the middle school students who help run the activities. Annunciation is rapidly adding technology this summer thanks to great generosity at the Auction and through annual giving. Besides outfitting each classroom with interactive boards and document cameras, the middle school science room and the resource room for children with learning challenges will have ipads. Teachers and students are very excited to move to this new level of instruction and learning. Our dream is to put effective technology that supports learning and academic excellence into the hands of our students. Fundraising Benefits Students (July 1, 2011-June 30, 2012). Donors and volunteers help sustain programs and activities not covered by tuition. Annual Fund, Christmas Gifts, Memorials & Endowment Gifts Silent/Live Auction (including designated Fund-a-Need) Help-a-Student Appeal Rummage Sale 2011 June Golf Tournament Total Through your patronage of our business partners, the school can offer opportunities such as Math Masters, Geo Bee, mini grants to teachers, Science Fair, Quiz Bowl, bus to Feed My Starving Children and more. On July 1st, the Church of the Visitation merged with Annunciation parish. It was a great loss for the Visitation parishioners but already the choirs from both parishes have joined together and parishioners have shared fellowship after Mass, and at retreats and social events. We are grateful for the beautiful statues and wall art that have come to school from Visitation. We will have a special exhibit of the statues in the school chapel and later distribute them to the classrooms. We have a once-in-a-lifetime special event coming up on October 13th, Creative Artstravaganza, that you won t want to miss. We are celebrating the creativity of Annunciation School, emphasizing the unique creative arts curriculum as well as the overarching value of creativity that Annunciation is known for throughout Minneapolis. This fundraiser, which supports faculty and students, will help ensure a bright future for the school. Come and be entertained by alumni who are professionals in the entertainment business, reminisce over dinner and drinks with former classmates and cap the evening off with spirited dancing.
