1 Accountancy - Five-Year CPA-MS-ISI Program Why Choose Accountancy? THIS PROGRAM IS UNDER DEVELOPMENT. An accounting education can lead to a highly respected and rewarding career. Accountants routinely earn incomes that are in the top 5 percent of the community in which they may live. If you elect to major in accounting, you may prepare yourself for a variety of accounting careers in industry, government, not-for-profit organizations, and public accounting. Many accountants are self-employed, operating their own business. Our faculty bring to the classroom not only relevant academic and real-world experience, but also a spectrum of licensures in areas as diverse as Public Accounting, Management Accounting, Fraud Examination, and Internal Auditing. This enables us to provide employer-applauded levels of breadth and depth, with programming across multiple tracks and concentrations, tailored to individual areas of interest. Of increasing interest are our dual degrees (e.g. Accounting/CIS, and Accounting/Finance); demanding, but producing highly sought-after graduates. For those considering the CPA, we offer a responsive five-year option, providing a BS and MBA, while satisfying the 150 hour educational requirement. Whatever the course of instruction, employers laud the extensive level of preparation our graduates bring to the workplace. Why Choose Accountancy with MS-ISI? Michigan and most other states require 150 hours of university course work to be licensed as a Certified Public Accountant. Junior year Bachelor of Science in Accountancy program majors may apply for fourth year dual enrollment in Accountancy and Master of Science in Information Security and Intelligence. By adding the MS-ISM to the existing CPA baccalaureate program as a fifth year, students interested in entering the CPA profession will get the appropriate training in accounting, satisfy the 150 minimum credit hours required to practice as a licensed Certified Public Accountant, and earn a career enhancing graduate degree. The Master of Science in Information Security and Intelligence program has been developed to prepare students for careers in Business Intelligence, Incident Response (proactive and reactive in areas such as hacking and digital forensics), and Project Management utilizing secure practices. Positions include security officers, analysts, forensic experts, project managers, and technical managers. The MS-ISI consists of eight core courses, including an integrated capstone project, and a four course Avanced Studies Certificate that focuses on the students concentration of choice: Incident Response (computer security), Business Intelligence, or Project Management.

2 Recent Ferris Foundation and National Science Foundation grant awards have provided technologies and funding for research and classroom activities to help differentiate opportunities at FSU from those of competitors, as has recent National Security Agency accreditation. Students will utilize equipment and technology valued at over $2 million that has been secured by NSF and other grants, gifts in kind, and academic alliances. This includes digital forensic tools, computers, nano scale microscopy, imaging devices, and software. Admission Requirements New Students: 2.5 high school GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and two of the three criteria below: (1) English ACT score of 16 or higher, or SAT Writing score of 370 or higher; (2) Math ACT score of 19 or higher, or SAT Math score of 460 or higher; (3) Reading ACT score of 19 or higher, or SAT Reading score of 430 or higher. Transfer Students: Combined college or university GPA of 2.35 (on a 4.0 scale) from all institutions attended. GPA is based on completion of 12 credit hours or more.
