9 Banner Health recently received funding through a U.S. Department of Labor grant. The grant provides funds to cover a portion of the tuition for ninety (90) RNs currently employed in Arizona facilities to earn their BSN through Arizona State University College of Nursing and Health Innovation s RN to BSN Program. The ASU RN to BSN Program is an on-line program with several admission dates through the next 2 years.

10 ELIGIBILITY To be eligible for this Banner Tuition Assistance program you must : Be a current fulltime or part-time employee of Banner Health in an RN position at an Arizona facility; Have completed six (6) continuous months of employment with Banner Health. Be meeting or exceeding performance expectations at time of application and at time of submission for reimbursement; Be free from any active corrective action at the time of application and at the time of submission for reimbursement.

11 ELIGIBILITY CONTINUED Be admitted as a student to Arizona State University Be admitted to the RN to BSN Program in the ASU College of Nursing and Health Innovation Complete and submit all required paperwork for Banner US Department of Labor Grant (Project MADE) Tuition Assistance Program by published deadlines(s).

12 PROGRAM DETAILS The program is 100 percent online. There are five start times per year. Spring and Fall sessions are 7.5 weeks; Summer sessions are 8 weeks. Students may complete the program in months, depending on work responsibilities, personal life and the number of courses taken per session.

29 Funding Collaboration is jointly funded by both Mayo and ASU Program costs are shared equally Mayo Clinic needs to hire at least 5 students from each cohort to recoup the investment of recruitment and orientation for a new Nurse Resident

30 Clinical Placements Where Mayo has the practice area, students attend Mayo. In Arizona this means med-surg, complex care and clinical immersion For the remaining experiences (CH, Peds, OB, Psych, LTC), students attend outside agencies Mayo students take priority for Mayo clinical placements

31 Graduation Attrition is about 10% 109 out of 110 (99%) Mayo campus graduates have passed NCLEX on their first attempt. The National average in 2012 was 91.66% for a Baccalaureate Degree* *National Council of State Boards of Nursing

34 Faculty Development In 2011, 16 Mayo nurses taught Mayo- ASU students; many of those taught more than once These nurses range from bedside nurses to advanced practice nurses and they teach in all levels of the curriculum At least 6 of these nurses have gone on to assist the DPC in meeting their faculty needs by teaching on both campuses
