1 PAGE TWELVE STUDIO CITY On Saturday, June 6, it was confirmed that Vincent Bugliosi died at the age of 80 from cancer at a Los Angeles hospital. Bugliosi is well-known for being the prosecutor for the Manson Family trial, who also wrote a book that chronicled the trial. In 1969, Charles Manson and some of his followers were placed under arrest for the murders of seven people including actress Sharon Tate, who was the wife of filmmaker Roman Polanski, and four of Tate s friends. Tate s mutilated body was found along with her four friends who were visiting Tate while her husband Polanski was away on business. The actress was eight months pregnant at the time of her murder. The Manson Family were also responsible for killing a married couple the next day. LOS FELIZ Los Angeles Police Department homicide detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspects wanted in connection with the stabbing death of a 22-year-old man in Los Feliz on June 8. During non-business hours or on the weekends, calls should be directed to Northeast Division Watch Commander at (323) , or SUSPECTED BURGLAR IN CUSTODY AFTER BARRICADE HOLLYWOOD HILLS A man who broke into a Hollywood Hills home is now in custody after a three-hour long stand off with police on Monday, June 8. The incident occurred on the 6800 block of Alta Loma Terrace. Police responded to the call of a burglary at approximately 10 a.m. The residents of the home were reported to have been in the house when the man, believed to be homeless, broke in. The family fled and called 911. Neighbors heard their cries for help. One neighbor reported to have seen the man throwing flower pots from the balcony at the female homeowner. Video surveillance shows he was also shouting. The neighbor grabbed his golf club in an attempt to help, but the suspect locked himself in the residence before anything could be done. WEST HOLLYWOOD A violent crash in which a catering truck plowed into a tree housing a large beehive left three people in critical condition on Saturday, June 6. At approximately 12:20 p.m., Los Angeles City and County firefighters responded to reports of an accident in West Hollywood. Arriving to the crash scene, located on the 1100 block of North Doheny Drive, firefighters extricated three people from the catering vehicle amid a swarm of incensed bees. Once removed from the vehicle, all three passengers were transported to local trauma centers in critical condition. During the rescue effort, a responding sheriff's deputy suffered an allergic reaction after sustaining an undisclosed number of bee stings. The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation. VALET ATTACKED IN BEVERLY HILLS The incident began when the customer was unable to produce the cash necessary to pay for the parking service. In an interview in which he declined to be named, the valet said he was carried on the hood of the car for nearly 30 feet before being thrown to the ground. For the first 31 days, all violators will be sent written warnings. Starting Thursday, July 2, traffic tickets will be sent to violators. Residents brought up the proposal to Councilman Tom LaBonge last month and are now asking LaBonge to pass the amendment before leaving office. BEVERLY HILLS A Beverly Hills estate, previously owned by the late television producer Michael Filerman, is set for a makeover that will make the property eligible for a reality television series. The property went on the market for $5.5 million in January and was recently purchased by real estate agent Josh Flagg on June 3 for $4.8 million. Flagg, also known for his appearances on the Bravo hit television series Million Dollar Listing, has major renovation plans for the 5,000-square-foot property. He plans to rebuild and expand the estate to approximately 8,000 square feet. The estate is located in the heart of Beverly Hills among other celebrity home owners including singer Paul McCartney and writer and producer Jenii Kohan. News AIRBORNE SUV CRASHES IN PACIFIC PALISADES By Joseph Wilhelm SANTA MONICA PIER STAIRS TO RECEIVE UPGRADE By Sean Stroh Fire and police department officials had expressed concerns about the constrained and narrow nature of the stairway. The current stairway serves as the only emergency exit at the south side of the pier. The upgrade would increase the emergency exit capacity at the south side of the Pier fourfold. Construction is not expected to begin until mid-september due to the summer concerts on the Pier. The anticipated date of completion is January One stairway will be available for public use at all times. Funding for the renovations will come from the city s Capital Improvement Program budget. The stiff evergreen leaves get about a foot or a foot and a half long, with unpleasantly sharp tips. Vigorous plants have white filaments that peel from the edges of the leaves. Like all agaves, Agave filifera, does not need much water once established. Unlike other agaves, it can tolerate a slight bit of shade. to keep us in Nampa, aside from an eyeopening military aircraft museum with an emphasis on the local people's involvement. This time the attention has been placed on the community of McKinney, Texas. Never heard of the place, but the small town has become a staple in the news arena. Over the weekend, video surfaced of a police officer who some have argued used excessive force to detain a female teenager while she was in her bathing suit. Something that needs to be addressed first and foremost is that some of the kids were apparently at a location where they had no permission to be at. That is still to be debated. That is beyond the fact in my opinion, especially if the juveniles weren t resisting arrest from the authorities who arrived after an incident was reported between a White woman and a Black woman who got into a scuffle. Those who have seen the video are well aware of the bluntness, the fear that was riddled across this teens face. This is an unarmed girl, who based on the video was not resisting arrest until the officer manhandled her, dragged her and nearly shoved her face into the ground. I m trying to wrap my head around what would possess an officer to behave or act in such a manner? Yes, the video does show a group of teens who attempt to surround the officer in an attempt to assist the UNITED STATES Wow, that s the only thing I could say after watching that sit-down interview with Megyn Kelly of FOX News Channel. I kinda had my skepticism about watching the interview cause I wasn t really certain if Kelly was really going to ask those questions the viewers had hoped to have answered. To my surprise she did, while she didn t go for the jugular she sked some questions that did indeed leave Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar slightly unnerved. The scandal involving their son Josh Duggar has not only sparked a media outrage, but a national debate about the issue of child molestation in America. That was one of the questions that Kelly attempted to decipher and answer from the parents. If there son Josh was indeed a pedophile, which both Michelle and Jim Bob denied as the incidents occurred when Josh was still a minor. That still begs the question: does that make it right? No. Hearing the parents detail precisely what transpired and having them describe in detail the incidents that took place in their home was difficult to hear. My first thought was when they discovered this happened the first time they took precautions, but it wasn t enough. As a parent, if you hear that your child has been touched inappropriately, most would move Heaven and Hell to ensure nothing, and I mean nothing like this ever happened again. To hear both parents describe the incidents as ABUSE IN POLICE POWER CONTINUES By Trevor Roberts The issue of police officers abusing their power has reached a fever pitch in America. teenage girl, which prompts him to pull his gun out and point at the teens. The bigger question I would like for someone to answer for me is with all these adults around, why didn t anyone attempt to intervene and calm the teens down and attempt to explain to the authorities what happened. Of course with all stories you have two sides, and somewhere in the middle lies the truth. What has become increasingly apparent nowadays is the advancement of technology makes it far easier to capture with solid evidence injustices that are enacted by government officials, particularly those in law enforcement. More and more police departments are adding body cameras to the regimen to ensure officers are held accountable for their actions. I mean look what happened in Inkster, Michigan, where an unarmed man was viciously beaten by an officer. To make matters worse it was all captured on the dash cam. The sad part about this tale is that the residents of Inkster will now be forced to pay more than $1 million for this settlement. Yes, the residents are being forced to tackle the bill. Now tell me where is the justice in that? Why isn t the officer being held accountable for his actions? Make him pay for what he did, not the residents. THE DUGGARS FINALLY SPEAK if the children never even knew about it because they were sleeping just left me slightly unnerved. That doesn t necessarily make it any better. These children were victimized, and what s worse is it was at the hands of their own brother. I mean it took them until the third incident where Josh had inappropriately touched one of his sisters who was under the age of 10 to seriously take action and remove the teen from the home. No. No freaking way, he should have been removed the first time it happened. I just don t understand how as parents they could somehow put a spin on the situation to attempt to put Josh in a good light. What he did was horrific, disgusting and downright disturbing. The issue of those police records being sealed or wrongly leaked as Michelle and Jim Bob alluded to is a bunch of baloney. I find it so hard for an incident to happen on multiple occasions not be reported to authorities so that the right course of action is taken. Sending your son to do hard manual labor is NOT going to reform him from having these urges to touch little girls. It s not, I m sorry. He should have been treated with some sort of therapy and psychological help to ensure that he fully understood what he did was wrong. If he did it once and bravely apologized for his actions, but turns around and does it a second and third time, what is stopping him from doing it once again. The Duggars gambled with their daughter s safety and well-being in my opinion and it s quite hard to justify such a thing, even though they attempted to do so more than once during the interview. I couldn t help, but see Michelle clamor up when Kelly asked her a question regarding her stance on the transgender community in light of the revelation about her son. She was stumped and had no idea how to respond to that question. The second part of the interview was just heartbreaking. To watch Jill and Jessa Duggar, two of Josh s victims have to relive the scrutiny of what has been exposed to the masses was devastating. Yes, these girls are victims, and the fact that they don t describe themselves as It is my fear that more of these incidents are becoming prevalent which means more citizens might take the law into their hands and decide to sue the city where this injustice took place. Ask yourself the question if you would like give out your hard earned cash simply because someone else abused the power that they have as a representative of the people, of the community. It s sad to even have to acknowledge that this happened at a pool party of all places and tons of young kids had to be exposed to such unthinkable behavior. Yes, the officer was wrong for using such excessive force on a teen, a female of all people who wasn t armed. That girl is likely to be haunted the rest of her life, and the officer, well he s been put on administrative leave because of his actions. I think the video may have been the nail in the coffin, had it not been for the video being released on social media, this isn t even a discussion we would be having. As much as I hate social media at times, I have to stop and ask myself the question, what would happen if we didn t have social media to highlight such incidents or situations, which need to be discussed in the public sphere. Is this a case of racism or police brutality? That is a question unfortunately you have to ask yourself. victims of their brother s actions and what he did to them was a tough pill to swallow. Those who watched the interview will empathize with the ladies who were forced to live out this atrocity once the news found its way into the public. Now a spotlight has been placed on them that they wished to never have put onto them. The interview left me quite shaken as I couldn t help, but continue to speculate that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar tried to conceal what Josh had done. At the same time, my heart breaks for the sisters who were forced to live in a home where their parents didn t do enough to ensure their well-being was a top priority. It s sad, a sad, sad, sad, story. HOLLYWOOD Summer is here and the laughs are upon us, and if there is one show that delivers hilarity week after week it s the ABC Family hit Baby Daddy. This kooky comedy revolves around the life of Ben Wheeler (Jean-Luc Bilodeau), as he finds himself raising a child after a one-night stand. The series has evolved to a familyfriendly sitcom that brings plenty of charm and lessons in each episode. Each season the series has gotten progressively better in my opinion as the chemistry between the cast becomes evident as the characters mesh so well it s unbelievable. The three amigos, as I d like to call them, Ben, Tucker (Tahj Mowry) and Danny (Derek Theler) are roommates whose daily lives intervene with taking care of Emma while navigating through the busy world of New York amongst other places. While some might expect the series to be HOLLYWOOD I already noted that summer 2015 would be one of the biggest of all-time at the box-office. It seems week after week a blockbuster is invading theaters. This weekend we have the release of Jurassic World, the highly anticipated sequel to the Jurassic Park franchise that literally changed people s perception about dinosaurs thanks to Steven Spielberg. Can you believe it has been nearly 14 years since the last installment in the franchise? This latest outing finds the audience returning to the park that mesmerized fans back in Things have been revamped, the dinosaurs are on a grandeur scale, and what seems to be all joy and fun, soon becomes utter chaos for the park goers. In a role that many have scoffed about upon learning about his casting, Chris Pratt portrays Owen Grady, a velociraptor trainer. It s a different role for the actor who drifts into a meatier and more serious role than his TOM BROKAW CANCER CHANGED PERSONALITY HELLO AMERICA! During his early years as news anchor at the NBC Burbank station during the 1970s, the world viewed a different Tom Brokaw. Those who worked with him or assigned to staff the main news hour claim that he was considered the new golden boy of that news hour and he knew it. One informant offered: Tom knew he had the power and it used it to his advantage, of course. He had little empathy or concern for anyone of his staff working to help make his hour in front of the camera special. He would openly embarrass them or put them down. His main concern was himself and that was it. One AD (Associate Director) requested not to be named said: Tom was not a nice or respectful person, he was rude to the new people assigned to the show. It was all about Brokaw, end of story. It was further claimed that the newsman presented a different face to those considered on his level at the station. He seemed to shift different faces politically even. If he was with a liberal, you would see a different more compassionate Tom, however, if a conservative leaning guest appeared, a different Brokaw would appear. It was very confusing, complex and it was a mystery as to who this man really was, the informant said. In 2013, Brokaw was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a rare incurable blood cancer. It is a disease that is not curable, but treatable. When understanding this, Tom was By Michael St. John shocked into a different reality. One which forced him to see life as he lived it but suddenly forced to face what really is. His acceptance of his life s dilemma quickly became evident when he changed his professional obligations. He minimized his on-camera responsibilities when at the network. There would only be necessary appearances in response to big and glaring news breaks which he might offer his professional and experienced point of view. NBC quickly agreed to such an arrangement. Suddenly appeared a different Tom Brokaw personality on camera. He seemed more sensitive, compassionate and concerned about the current issue at hand. In other words, the viewers were treated to a BABY DADDY RETURNS FOR SUMMER LAUGHS overpowered with testosterone, there are two ladies who bring laughs a mile a minute. Chelsea Kane portrays Riley Perrin, a family friend of the Wheelers who had a torch for Ben growing up, but her emotions are now connected to her best friend Danny. There is one slight problem; Danny has been secretly harboring his feelings for Riley who went oblivious for nearly three seasons. Now that Danny is well aware of his BFF having feelings for him, he has given her the cold shoulder. Riley s life has been a bit complicated. She recently ended her relationship with Danny s brother, Ben, in her attempt to rekindle romance with Danny. One slight problem, Danny doesn t seem too interested in a romance with his friend who he feels betrayed his trust. I mean when you manifest a fake boyfriend in an attempt to get your crush to pay attention to you, you By David Miller might have a problem Riley. Acting as a buffer between the friends is Tucker, who is the wisecracking smart guy on the series. Isn t that witty how I threw in smart guy in that phrase? Those not in the know will remember Mowry who had stints on the comedies Full House and Smart Guy. Tucker is a character who has no trouble saying what the rest of the world wants to say, but is not willing to say it at all times. He can get away with it cause his level of wit and clever comedic timing works so well on the show. He goes toe-to-toe at times with Bonnie, the matriarch of the Wheeler family. Melissa Peterman might be one of the funniest ladies on television who hasn t gotten the kudos she deserves in the comedy arena. Peterman has perfect comedic timing, sarcasm, and brings charm to a character that is lovable and you miss every single time she JURASSIC WORLD, FUN, EXCITING, AND RIVETING past work. Owen is a bit of a drifter, he delivers witty one-liners at times, all the while being ignored by some of the parks geneticists and operators who failed to learn from the mistakes from the past. I will admit Pratt s character reminded me of the character portrayed by Thomas Jane in Deep Blue Sea. That was a movie where scientists thought it was okay to tinker with nature. After the chaos that erupted in the first movie, Isla Nublar, a secluded island near the Pacific Coast, is now back up and running as a functioning dinosaur theme park, which was envisioned by John Hammond. In an effort to boost attendance at the park, the geneticists manifest a hybrid dinosaur known as the Indominus rex. It s like the T-Rex, but 10 times bigger and 10 times scarier, at least that is what the movie trailers and TV spots tots to the audience. Leading the wave of the parks newest attraction is By David Miller Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) who is the park s operations manager. Howard exhibits such a dark personality to many of the roles that she has portrayed throughout her career, and Jurassic World is no different. She can be slightly cold to Owen, as well as her nephews Zach (Nick Robinson) and Gray (Ty Simpkins) who arrive at the park at the worst possible time. Colin Trevorrow does double duty in the film serving not only as the director, but a participant in the films script. Trevorrow manages to deliver to the audience a dinosaur theme park that is 100 times larger than what Steven Spielberg did back in The slight problem is that the movie isn t quite certain rather it wants to be a heightened thriller or a fantasy adventure where bad things happen. This is a common issue in past installments of the franchise where The Lost World and Jurassic Park III attempted to deliver a serious warmer and kinder Brokaw. Another NBC veteran offered: Tom is only one of those gifted young people offered the world they had always dreamed of in this business who didn t really understand how to handle it. Power, at times, does this to one. Especially, if it has never been a natural part of your development years or you come from a background of struggle. It s understandable. But sadly, many people don t survive too long if they refuse to realize that that kind of success usually last for a short time. When you or your show begin to loose numbers or an audience, you might have been considered the golden boy of one time but just as quickly looked upon as baggage. And that is the nature of the beast, sadly I must say! steps away from the TV screen. One thing that makes Baby Daddy such a laughable sitcom is that the show has no problem allowing each character to take center stage. As a viewer you never get the feeling that this show is completely defined by one person. One week Bonnie is in the spotlight, the next week it s Tucker, Riley, Danny or Ben, the constant switch keeps the series fresh. That keeps the laughs coming. I will also acknowledge that the series is not afraid to get slightly dramatic at times, but not too dramatic to scare off comedy lovers. What I love most about this series is that it delivers the perfect combination of laughter, fun characters and charm that makes the viewer feel as if he or she is sitting on the couch with their family. If you re having a tough week, nothing will make you smile more than Baby Daddy. The series airs Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. on ABC Family. movie, but it wasn t fully as serious as one expected. I will admit Jurassic World finds a way to bring back that charm that was evident in the first movie, it s not perfect, but it s indeed a step up from past flicks. A bunch of that success is thanks to Pratt and Howard who in my opinion carry the movie in addition to its special effects. All the other actors and actresses have notable roles, but these two shine a bit more and help the narrative push when at times it feels like it may be struggling slightly. I will admit when the dinosaurs run rampant in the park amongst thousands of park goers it is absolute fun to watch. The movie delivers giddiness as a viewer that makes you feel as if you are inside the park. Jurassic World while no masterpiece, is indeed an improvement in previous fair and delivers a film that has family written all over it, even though it appears otherwise at times.

Information about private finances, sexual orientation, about personal phone calls, songs and books. The latest leak is the copy of E.L. James latest "Fifty Shades" novel which was stolen ahead of its publication. Kent Police has launched an investigation after Random House discovered a copy of Grey's novel had gone missing on June 8. The book re-enacts the first installment of the hit trilogy from billionaire Christian Grey's point of view, which is due to be released next week, according to published reports. It is feared that the thieves may leak the novel, HOLLYWOOD The liars have escaped A s dollhouse, but the remnants of his torture have side effects that have left the liars in a troubled state of mind. Those aftershocks were resonated in the latest episode Songs of Innocence which saw the ladies dealing with the emotional fallout in a variety of ways. The episode opened with the liars being treated in the hospital for the psychological trauma they suffered inside the dollhouse. Spencer, Aria, Emily and Hanna speculated about Andrew possibly being Charles Di- Laurentis. Way too easy, it s not him. Toby tackled Andrew in the woods and was prepared to give him a brutal beating, but he was halted by a new cop in town. Ali found herself being grilled by her father about her actions, but not before she asked him the question fans have been dying to know, Who is Charles DiLaurentis? His reaction said it all; he was covering something epic to say the least. Emily paid Sarah Harvey a visit to try to get details on her disappearance, but she wouldn t disclose too many details. Toby tried to convince Spencer that Andrew was their guy, but she wasn t sold on his theory. The parents are back in the mix; Pam Fields was a bit thrown by the fact that Sarah had been held captive for nearly 2 years. Hanna was quite fired up with her mom and Caleb questioning her reasoning to change her bedroom. Hanna shared a bit with her mom about the games that A played with them, she being the primary target. It was heartbreaking to watch Mama Marin console her daughter in her time of need.
