4 Special Tribute to David Betti Dave Betti was born in Bakersfield, California on December 18, At age 20, Dave enlisted in the Marines on June 26, 1969 and was assigned to 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division. He was then deployed to Vietnam for a 13-month tour of duty. Among his many awards he received the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Combat Action Ribbon, and earned the classification of Corporal E-4. David s past Military service brought him together with the Vietnam Veteran's of Ventura County in which he later served as President, Vice President, Secretary, POW/MIA Chairman, and Board Member. He worked tirelessly as an advocate to assist other Veteran's, Veteran's Families, and complete strangers. He was always ready to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. For many years David, along with his fellow VVVC brothers, shared their experiences in Vietnam with high school students, college students, and middle school students. David always looked forward to this time of year. David was employed as a bus driver for the Ventura Unified School District. He not only left an impression on parents and staff, but most important, the students. David retired in October 2010 due to medical issues. He also served on the Personnel Military and Veterans Free Legal Clinic Serving Active Duty, National Guard, Reserves, Veterans and Retirees 2015 Legal Clinic 1:00pm-4:00pm October 2 November 6 December 4 *No clinics September National University 1000 Town Center Dr. Suite 502, Oxnard, CA DUI Landlord/Tenant Issues Family Law Child Support Divorce Bankruptcy/Credit Problems Notary* Legal issues served: *Notary & Financial Planning by appointment only Military Discharge Upgrades Power of Attorney Workman Compensation Domestic Violence Expungement Veterans Court Information Financial Planning* Community Partners: Ventura County Public Defenders Office ~ Ventura County Bar Association ~ Ventura County Veterans Treatment Court ~ HSA ~ EDD ~ HUD VASH One Justice ~ Ventura County Military Collaborative ~ RSVP-Oxnard ~ National University ~ Veterans Affairs ~ Ventura County Veteran Services Office ` To make an appointment or to get more information please visit us at: Walk-ins will be taken if space is available, it is advised to make an appointment.

During to his teenage years he even had his own band. He also played in various tribute bands in Ventura such as Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute Band, Resurrection, and Brand X, just to name a few. He lived for his drums, his music, and his Rock-n-Roll. David was also an avid fisherman, and hunter. His enjoyed taking trips to the Eastern Sierra s David conquered all obstacles caused by Agent Orange; from Cancer, to Heart Disease, to lung disease, but he didn't let anything hold him back. He lived his life to the fullest. In 2011 David was given the best gift of all, a companion named Sarge. Sarge was a German shepherd. Sarge was trained to be a Service Dog for David and they were inseparable. Sarge really kept David active and kept him fighting. On April 30th, 2015 David passed away with his faithful and loyal service dog right by his side. Sarge never left his side and protected him until the end. David showed me so much about life and how to take negative situations in life and turn them into a positive. He showed me what a true hero and a fighter should be. David, myself, and our daughter were meant to be; we were one heck of a team! All three of us struggled and conquered all obstacles. He truly saved our lives, and for that I will Love him and cherish our memories forever. David was a true steward and caretaker of all things. He never considered himself too big or any task beneath him. His life was defined by his caregiving, and caretaking. His generosity and love for his family, friends, and fellow Marines and Veterans will live on. Everyone that had the opportunity to have met David will cherish every memory and hold them dear to their hearts. SEMPER FI MARINE Written by Carrie Pulido-Betti, in loving memory of her husband David Betti.
