1 PURPOSE AND SCOPE: ARTICULATION AGREEMENT Between and University of Texas Permian Basin The purpose of this articulation agreement is to provide opportunities for students completing the Associate in Arts in Teaching - AAT (as outlined in the attached addendums) from (OC) to continue in their academic coursework leading to a Bachelor's degree in Education at the University of Texas Permian Basin (UTPB). OC and UTPB are entering into this articulation agreement to facilitate the seamless transfer of students between the two institutions. OC students who complete the AA Tat OC are eligible for credit by articulation at UTPB. Under the terms covered by this agreement, OC students may transfer into the UTPB degree program. ODESSA COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS PERMIAN BASIN: A. Successful Articulation Program completers shall be accepted into the appropriate program based on their having met UTPB admission requirements. B. Successful Articulation Program completers shall receive special admission coordination to UTPB facilitated by the transfer office at OC. C. Articulation Program completers who do not meet the minimum requirements MA Y be accepted on a conditional basis. D. The Articulated Program(s) is open to all currently enrolled and future OC students who plan on transferring to UTPB Education program(s) who meet the eligibility requirements outlined in this agreement and attached addendum(s). Students may enter the program at the time ofadmission to OC or any time prior to having completed the required AA T Transfer Curriculum. E. OC students who transfer to UPTB are eligible to receive credit for the courses listed in the attached addenda under the terms ofthis agreement. F. OC and UTPB will encourage students to complete the entire AAT Transfer Curriculum at OC before transferring to UTPB. G. UTPB will accept OC students' transferable core curriculum and lower division community college courses within the Texas common course numbering system H. The following additional provisions are incorporated into this agreement: 1. OC is accredited by SACS, and all OC instructors of courses included in this program are in compliance with Comprehensive Standard.7.1 as described in the SACS Principles ofaccreditation; 2. Representatives of OC and UTPB will meet or make contact annually to update this agreement; and University oftexas Permian Basin/ Education Articulation Agreement (Rev. August 17, 21) Page 1
2 . By approving this agreement, OC and UTPB assure students that courses outlined in the addendums are freely transferable between OC and UTPB. ODESSA COLLEGE AGREES TO PROVIDE: A. Participants with access to transfer admissions staff on the OC campus each semester at designated times; B. Official transcripts and any other required documentation to UTPB; C. Access to the OC Transfer counselors for current information on transfer requirements; D. Coordination between the Director of Financial Aid at UTPB and the Director of Financial Aid at OC to ensure all paperwork and processing will be completed for a seamless transfer offinancial aid profiles. THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS PERMIAN BASIN AGREES TO PROVIDE: A. Participants with an approved degree plan and description of degree requirements for the students intended major; B. Special admission coordination to UTPB for students who successfully complete the required coursework as outlined in the addendum(s); C. A seamless transfer of students to UTPB by ensuring that OC course evaluations are current and readily available to students; D. A process whereby transcript information from UTPB will be reported back to OC to allow for the awarding of "Reverse Articulated" associate degree(s); E. Supply award package to all program completers based on eligibility upon completion of UTPB financial aid process. THIS AGREEMENT: A. Represents an approved articulation agreement between OC and UTPB; B. Shall commence when it has been signed by the appropriate administrator of both institutions and shall remain effective until terminated via execution of a written request by either party providing a one (1) year notice; C. Shall continue until such time as either or both institutions wish to terminate it. In the event this agreement is terminated, both institutions agree to make completion provisions for individual students participating in the program at the time of termination.
