1 Eastern Shore Higher Education Center u Salisbury University u UMES u Stevenson University u UMUC u Gratz College/RTC u Notre Dame of Maryland University The Eastern Shore Higher Education Center, located on the Chesapeake College Wye Mills Campus, offers upper-division courses towards bachelor s and graduate degrees. The mission of the Center is to promote higher education and economic development in the region by offering a range of postsecondary programs and services in its state-of-the-art facility. Registration is conducted by each credit-granting institution. Please contact Salisbury University, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES), Stevenson University (formerly Villa Julie College), University of Maryland University College (UMUC), Gratz College / RTC, or Notre Dame of Maryland University to complete the application and registration process. Students must have an Associate of Arts degree and/or meet program entrance requirements in order to qualify for bachelor s degree programs. There must be sufficient enrollment in each class in order for the institution to offer the courses listed. The schedules listed on the home university or college website will be official. Please check for any changes or cancellations on the website of the university or college offering the course. The Center is the ideal location for regional meetings, complete with free parking and onsite catering services. Classrooms are available for small meetings and seminars. A computer lab accommodates technology training needs for up to 20 participants. A large amphitheatre is available and can be set up in theatre-style or workshop-style seating. 2 Winter 2013 Course Offerings Salisbury University ESOL Courses The following courses will be offered online in the area of English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) from Salisbury University. Students should consult their advisors before registering for these courses. Students may take these classes for professional development or to complete a minor in ESOL. Students interested in taking these courses should talk with their advisor and should feel free to contact Dr. Vila at jsvila@salisbury.edu for more information. Bachelor s Courses: ENGL Intro. to the Study of Language 4 Vila Online (This is the best course to take to begin the sequence of ESOL courses.) All courses are worth three graduate credits and are appropriate for educators K-12. The fee for each class is $980. You must register at least two weeks before the first day of class. Candidates must meet all AAT and articulation requirements, or be accepted into the program by Salisbury University. Master s Program: Forensic Studies This program is offered in accelerated eight-week, online classes. This 36-credit hour program can be completed in as few as 18 months. There is a residency requirement for the capstone project at the end of the program. Students will spend one week on the Owings Mills Campus participating in a Mock Trial Experience. Students in the Forensic Studies Program may specialize in one of five tracks: Forensic Accounting, Information Technology, Legal, Investigations, or Interdisciplinary.
